well shit maybe I need to move to Oxnard! I've missed two Peter Lance hearings in Ventura and yesterday's in Oxnard....I refuse to travel south because they chopped down tons of eucalyptus trees by the highway and until I restore them all, I will be busy planting...

so I have to rely on my buddy at the New-Press Scott Steepleton for updates and it sounds like the Oxnard hearing was a good one..apparently both Lance and his lawyer Darryl Genis like having sex with kangaroos! they kept muttering stuff about courting kangaroos and shouting 'I wanna have sex with a kangaroo in court!!" or something like that there..I knew they were a couple of loonies!

at issue is whether crybaby Peter Lance should have his license removed because of his DUI....of course he should..there's no question but these hearings keep getting pushed down the road...and it seems that Lance was throwing tantrums and had to be escorted from the room again, just like in SB....

I think the Lance strategy is to cry loud enough so they give him his license back....and as much as these guys try to impune the credibilty of Officer Kasi Beutel, they fail..and it's not hard to see why..Lance's witnesses in his News-Press series were either all drunks or had to wear ankle bracelets provided by the Sheriff's Dept!! and Lance keeps wanking about forgeries that didn't happen!!

Blanco the so-called handwriting expert was already blown away last year in court at the pre-trial hearings...geez, the guy is glorified palm reader with his own ethics issues..it's simply ridiculous!! this is all a repeat of what happened in SB!!

these folks need to cut the crap and remove Lance's license for a year and be done with it....taxpayers are paying for this and Lance is clearly in the wrong..and time is a'wastin..

when Kate Middleton graced our area with her presence a while back, she brought a little buzz to town....appearing with her hubby Prince William at the Polo Fields in Carp, she was a down to earth gal who happened to be the Duchess of Cambridge...I liked her immediately because I'm a good judge of character and she's pretty hot too...

now, when Kate's helicopter touched down in Carpinteria, my hope is that some of that class would rub off on Carpinteria farm gals..I'm still hoping...

so we all know how stupid drugs are, yet we flail around trying to get people to stop taking them...now I mentioned before how stupid I thought it was for the SB school board to send in the drug sniffing dogs to junior high..how that is a NAZI mentality..raid instead of educate..the three members who voted for this waste are David Cash,the new superintendent from Fresno, Kate Parker and Ed Heron..they voted "yes" while Annette Cordero and Monique Limon voted "no"...good for Annette and Monique....and this act by the other SB School board members is outrageous!

ACLU of Washington and Center for Justice Applaud Decision

SPOKANE, WA -- In response to a threatened lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington and the Center for Justice, the Nine Mile Falls School District has stopped using drug-sniffing dogs to search its middle and high school students.

"We are pleased that the district has chosen to respect its students," said Julya Hampton, the ACLU of Washington's Legal Program Director. "The district's blanket use of drug-sniffing dogs treats every student as a suspect, without suspicion or evidence that they have done anything wrong."

Superintendent Cash had some leadership issues in Fresno and resigned abruptly because of conflicts with colleagues..and he is heavily supported by pot house landlord and News-Press flunkie Lanny Ebenstein which I find rather ironic..Cash should be calling out the dogs on the druggies over at the News-Press!!! such hypocrites!!

Cash, Parker and Heron are on my radar now..where are the studies indicating drug use in our local schools that requires uniformed officers with mad dogs to sniff thru the students' back packs..this is insane and should be an invasion of privacy....and perhaps it's time to call in the ACLU dogs....

well at the Carp city council meeting I found the comments about Ulysses S Grant to be insane...

trying to excuse one numbskull by pointing to another...
first of all, we're not in another civil war yet though the teabaggers are pushing us towards that end..if it happens they will be crushed in one day..in order to do that, we need leaders, commanders like Grant...

Grant was a disciplined officer and leader..his drinking was infrequent and never interfered with his duites as a commander..and he never once rode his horse into a tree drunk!!

many myths and stories are told about the civil war ..and I was there, I saw Grant take a few sips now and again, but it seems if General Grant was a lousy drunk, I'd be singing Dixie right now wid a slave cleaning up my condo and takin' care of my chirren..but that ain't what happened because I'm listening to Whitney Houston sing her heart out right now and she ain't no slave...

Many of the drinking stories come from battlefield politics. Jealous Northern generals who could find no other way to discredit this brilliant man who was delivering battlefield victories to President Lincoln, spread malicious rumors about Grant being drunk on the job. Mixing speculation with fact, Ellington further asserts: "Grant drank, sometimes to excess, but he was not a problem drinker. His physical build made it impossible for him to drink much, yet he had sometimes desired alcohol to relieve his loneliness [during the West coast years]. Grant did spend time in Eureka [California] saloons, but that is not evidence of heavy drinking. Here is where community leaders met, talked about a wide variety of subjects, and expressed the civilized conviviality of that isolated place.... That Grant and his fellow officers drank off-duty seems to be undisputed. That Grant was drunk on duty has not been proven. ... The only valid conclusion that can be drawn about Grant's drinking is that he drank-like most soldiers of his time. But he was not a drunkard. Grant did not consume large quantities of liquor because his body did not require much to achieve the inevitable results. Some of Grant's contemporaries recorded that he went on 'sprees,' but none accused him of failing in his duty because he was under the influence ..

so maybe the truth lies somewhere in between..people drink but some can't handle alcohol..we've seen it right here in Santa Barbara and Carp..and the drunks are still blaming everyone else from the cops to their political enemies for their own failings...

ok so I go to the Carp city council meeting Monday evening...I'm expecting a full council to deal with the ongoing Joe Armendariz issue...the city's options with Joe's ethics slump re his repeated DUIs...they could censure, ask him to resign, send him to rehab, strip him of his committee duties...

I get there at 5:15 and start taking pics of pretty girls..damn nice babes tonight... everyone is in good spirits...before the festivites started, a chick from COX explained the switch to digital TV which will allow council meetings to be seen in Carp..right now I only get Santa Barbara meetings! so that's good..now we get both..both cities can watch each other!! and the chick who gave the presentation, I'd like to watch her take a bath!

then the council files in...except Joe...he told the media he wouldn't be there tonight...Brad Stein still has a cold but managed a wave..hey Brad!

witchy Kathleen Reddington arrived on time..it was a miracle! what is up with the Addams Family hair...there's a Goth thing in Carp I don't know about?

Kathleen's stance on Joe was to coddle and baby him and say this was all just a witch hunt while the guys on the council were running out of patience with Joe's lack of ethics and poor representaion of the city....you can't spin a few DUIs by a councilman as positive for the City of Carp..no way, no how

so we get to public comment and the Hot Dog guy, William Connell, got up and presented a laundry list of Joe's bad behavior...it's getting pretty personal between Bill and Joe so I'll let them duke it out while I expose the hypocrisy of the rightwingers...

a few folks defended Joe's DUI and one guy pointed out that Ulysses S Grant was a drunk and so was Ted Kennedy...if that is the best defense for a city councilman's lapse in ethical behavior, then we might as well have no ethics clause in the city charter..and then the guy says he could dig up dirt on all the council members...he was a nut!!

apparently there was a rumor going around that Mayor Clark beats his wife! Clark put it to rest and said tongue-in-cheek--"well duh it's not true...if you don't believe me, ask my wife"--- and he provided a phone number...God I hope Joe's little fans haven't gotten so desperate as to start rumors about the other council members...leave that shit for the News-Press!!!

the night was a clinic about alcoholism and drunk driving..some folks spoke about their family issue with drunks and all the damage done...and accepting personal responsibility to change the situation..if you can't or won't as in Joe's case, then the city council will do it for you..and that's what happened..after reviewing their options with the city manager and attorney, the council voted 3-1 to censure Joe, strip him of his committee duties, and ask him to resign..all reasonable acts to counter a most unreasonable act of drunk driving...

so congrats to the Carp City Council except Kathleen, for dealing with the issue that Joe won't deal with...it wasn't quite a "Code Red" but it was close...you simply need to deal with the weak links..fairly and quickly...in order to resume with the city's business as Mayor Clark eloquently pointed out...

oh..and Joe.. you owe a great big thank-you to Carty, Stein and Clark...for cleaning up your mess

I haven't watched the Grammys in ages, but I checked in to see the tributes..Bruce Springsteen opened with a rousing "We Take Care of our Own"...
rapper LL Cool-J hosted..of course I don't know who he is, but he did an ok job....I loved Lupe Fiasco and Bruno Mars...I flipped back and forth between the cable music channels..they were doing nonstop Whitney Houston videos...back in the 80s she was Queen of Soul/Pop churning out hits at breakneck speed....the daughter of Cissy Houston, she grew up around Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin....geez..talk about music royalty..

well, back at the Grammys, Joe Walsh, one of the greatest rocknroll guitarists of all time was helping Paul warble his way thru "My Blue Valentine"..Joe was on classical guitar..sorry guys, it didn't quite work...Paul just doesn't have the voice for that stuff...and tonight it was all about the voice...the Beach Boys reunited for "Good Vibrations", helped by some much younger musicians..Mike Love looking rather frail and elderly...I saw Brian Wilson at the Lobero a few years ago and he was great..but tonight he looked a bit forlorn, and quickly left the stage after the song....

so I'm watching Whitney Houston videos...I always have when they happen to come on...she's a beautiful woman, energetic and smiling, with a beautiful voice....and I heard some songs I've never heard before that became quick favorites.."I Have Nothing" from the "Bodyguard"...and another one about being hurt real bad.."yeah ya did, shor ya did" she sang masterfully...
she was on stage, sitting on a tall stool...wearing a white dress..sweat glistening off her face...she looked like an Olympian athlete..she was singing with every fiber of her being..and that's why I liked her...

I don't know about the drugs and alcohol or why she took up with a no-talent guy like Bobbie Brown, but something happened... I was looking for it in her videos..and there was something behind her smile, her eyes, that was hard to describe.....a sadness...maybe "the Greatest Love of All" said it...I don't know....but I know this, no one at the Grammy Awards could hold a candle to her voice....

white bird must fly, or she will die....

well it was Saturday....it was the most beautiful day I've ever seen...I started the day with some Beach Boys blaring and was so glad to be in California...it's just beautiful here...the wind was blowing, the clouds were roaming, and some little dog somewhere was foaming at the mouth...like the ocean when it laps up to the beach..you know, the foam...

anyway, I felt like shopping so I went to Big Five and got some summery items like a watch with instructions in five languages...then I went to Sears because I am a patriotic American..

then I decided to go thru Hope Ranch and visit Snoop and Wendy and swing by the old school..Laguna Blanca...it's a great school and hasn't changed much..in fact Hope Ranch stays blissfully the same..of course every neighborhood school has its secrets, but yours is safe with me..altho the education was great and personal at Laguna, the French teacher sucked..there is no way I'm learning French with some lady showing me cartoons with no captions and telling me to fill in words in French...geez, how lazy can you get, lady...how do you say "FUCK YOU " in French??

hey I figured I'd stop by the Boathouse to see how Tony Denunzio manuevered his truck on that fateful night.. I pull into the parking lot and geez I'm sober and still having trouble driving thru this little maze!! don't hit that surfer girl!!!

wow..the day gets more beautiful by the minute....whimsical clouds dance in the pale blue sky...the ocean is close by and the truck nearly drives itself down the Mesa, down Shoreline Dr to the Harbor....oooo..it's so pretty the sand the sea...

hey, I'm behind a Mercedes with a lady driving who looks like Wendy..but lucky for her, today I love everyone!! even Ruppie who's journalists are being arrested left and right for bribery!!

then I park it at the Harbor... the beautiful Harbor..once a target for piracy by Dr. Laura and the shame she brought to the Yacht Club for cheating at the races..today it stands proud again..still a great hangout ....and then a nice walk on Leadbetter...some surfers fighting the windblown waves...shorebirds hanging out....little fluffy dogs everywhere..I even made some room in my heart for them!!

it was a beautiful day that began with Beach Boys music...and ended with Whitney Houston music...

the winter of our discontent...

can someone tell me why in the middle of winter it's 75 degrees right now? in the sun? the blaring brutal sun....it's trajectory across the sky is low so the hotness is super hot compared to summer hotness....lately, the sun is setting as the gentle tide rolls in as the light blue sky smiles down happily..and burns my ass!

I just want a sound explanation not there's a high pressure ridge somewhere close by...an explanation because I bought a bunch of winter clothes and gave the old ones away to the homeless charity.....but when am I gonna be able to wear this thinsulated jacket..or this down vest from Cabela's? now? no, I tried and started sweating so had to turn on the fans...it's ridiculous...

oh I see..the only time I can wear my new clothes, my new Gallatin flannel shirt, is three o'clock in the morning when the temp dips to the high 40s...ok so I'll get up and dressed and take a walk outside in my vest and new Rockports...I'll head out to the hills in the serious moonlight and meet with the coyotes and raccoons and skunks...

I'll take a walk over to the cemetery.....pay my respects to little Anna Lee..I don't even know her and yet she is indeed my inspiration...

better yet I'll visit her in the morning when the sun is warm....as warm as my heart when I think of her....and these yellow flowers by the side of the road..they smell so sweet and there's hundreds of bees buzzing around them...

oh I didn't know there was a "World Happiness Day" until I read the News-Press and another silly article by this Dave Mason guy..I hope not the ex-Traffic guitarist....the guy who played with Hendrix!! couldn't be..this Mason begins the article like this: the surf gently rolled in, and the sun began its slow descent in the light blue sky on a quiet late afternoon...

WTF? that sounds like something I would write ... geez, Dave, knock it off!

anyway, the Constitution guarantees the right to pursue happiness, it says nothing about obtaining it......no guarantee that you will be other than unhappy for the rest of your life...some people are happy that way, I guess..

but the article in the NP tells us about a gal named Jackie.... a Montecito therapist who got a BA in Psychology and a Master's in Creative arts...(I'm giggling now because I'm happy)..and well she wants you to be happy, even if you aren't, she will make you happy..well I can think of a way she could make me happy right now baby but she might sue me, so I'll let ya guess what I'm thinking about right now!..and wut I'm thinking right now is a making me very very happy!!

look, psychology is not something to be toyed with...nowadays it's become pop-psychology and that makes me unhappy...

the real work you do can help you help yourself..in the right hands, a facilitator can help you deal with all the stuff in your head that's causing you some confusion and..well..unhappiness...if you don't want to be happy, then you don't have to be...embrace the unhappy and the happy will follow...it's ok to feel blue, otherwise you won't know what happiness is....

if you think that sucking up to rich people will make you happy, then go for it...but think about this: it will make me very very unhappy...Jackie, do you want that on your conscience??

you know Wendy McCaw and Sarah Miller McCune have some things in common..money and gender...and that's about it...if Wendy ever sells, Sarah would be a likely buyer, but I think Wendy's going down with the ship...

I picked up a copy of Sarah's mag and thought it was pretty good... heads and tails above anything Wendy has ever published...it's a broad look at issues around the world versus a paper that prints the same thing day after day with the same idiots selling the same idiotic editorials: strong anti-government /anti-worker slop....

now, I saw two things that were interesting..one in the NP where a PETA lawyer is suing Sea World in san Diego on behalf of some orcas..killer whales in pens that do tricks for people..paying customers..the thinking is that animals should have civil rights like black folks, that the orcas are being subjected to slavery!!...

I swear to God, it was a bizarre read... first of all, civil pertains to citizens, not animals...so suing for civil rights for orcas is stupid...the orcas should be released and never penned for tricks of course, but PETA is barking up the wrong tree on this one..animal cruelty or abuse is against the law, yet the National Parks Service and Nature Coinservancy got away with killing thousands of animals in the name of nativism...biological nativism even though the little foxes that caused all the killing and over-reactions are inbred!!

then, in Sarah's magazine, there was a link to a thoughtful article about corporations and lawyers wanting to confer human rights upon animals and declare them "legal persons"...this whole notion is absurd and irrational...can you imagine what the courts would look like....dogs everywhere... I could be covering a trial with a dog as a defendent!!!

I was talking with a massage therapist from Self, Texas the other day and she mentioned the Susan G Komen Foundation...the Texas nonprofit dedicated to fighting breast cancer..or so we thought...it seems when it comes to women's health, things get a little fuzzy..the buzz created was a teabagger member of the Komen group pushed to stop funding for Planned Parenthood...the lady is a Christian conservative who doesn't support Planned Parenthood because of the abortion issue..

The origins of Planned Parenthood date to 1916 when Margaret Sanger, her sister and a friend opened the first birth control clinic in the U.S. in Brooklyn, New York. It resulted in her being jailed. In 1938, the clinic was organized into the American Birth Control League, which became part of the only national birth control organization in the US until the 1960s, but the title was found too offensive and "against families" so the League began discussions for a new name. By 1941, the organization was operating 222 centers and had served 49,000 clients. By 1942 the League had become part of what became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

I knew a guy once who was as anti-abortion as they get..I worked with him on my shift and he'd give out bibles to us...on his days off we'd hear he'd spend time at the local Planned Parenthood over on Laguna St. I think it was, chaining himself to cars in the parking lot and lying down to protest abortions...he was a very nice guy who was very committed to his God and his religion...and also very naive...

so the Komen Foundation hired this teabagger gal and she started injecting her politics into women's health issues...and of course the conservative presidential candidates chimed right in standing behind her...Rick Santorum says if you get raped, you should have the baby!!!
then after a public wupping, Karen Handel, the chubby gal from Texas, resigned from the foundation and funding was restored to PP...

but this is part of the problem with nonprofits..when the money comes in so quick, people lose sight of the intended mission and instead of provided money for real services, they become a PAC....and this is why non-profits should not be tax-exempt...

now, I get the fervor over abortion...I would love to see them stopped but not at the expense of personal freedom...and you won't stop abortions by chaining yourself to cars, or teaching abstinence only in schools....or bombing abortion clinics...or acting stupid...

WTF is going on here ladies??? you got the whole world in your hands and you choose this..drugs..the easy way...the self-destructive way...if you need to vent without censorship, come to Mick and start babbling away!!! my love is unconditional!! except for one condition I'll ya later...

and then I hear that David Cash, the new schools superintendent in Santa Barbara, wants to use drug-sniffing dogs to storm the junior high school and check out their lockers! instead of teaching about drugs, the dangers and stupidity of using drugs, the psycho and biological changes that happen with drug use, the "educators" use drug sniffing dogs..talk about an invasion of privacy...it's a Gestapo tactic and should not be allowed in public schools at all!!

the obvious alternative is to use the vast educational resources to teach young people about drugs..as part of biology or as a separate course...they could use our local illuminaries who have been busted recently as examples...invite them in for a Q&A....

I know it's hard to teach when the culture promotes alcohol consumption as a way of life, but all this stuff needs to be analysed and taught, in and out of the classroom, by people who aren't owned by the booze lobby...

raiding local schools with agents and dogs to look for drugs is not an answer...at all...not even close

I've been busy re-wiring my little Peavey guitar that I got for 30 dollars...I was suprised at how light it is and how easy it is to play..when I got it the electronics didn't work..someone went in and soldered things like they should never be soldered...it was a mess!

so I got some new pots and switches, and kept one old pick-up...and now it sounds motherfucking dirty..it sounds like a Strat with an attitude..... so Lanny Ebenstein at Wendy's orders is attacking public workers again!!

now we've seen what happens when rightwingers go after the rights of workers....in Ohio and Wisconsin the governors have been slapped for promoting their anti-public worker campaigns....

collective bargaining scares the conservatives because the work force has banded together to keep management honest....the public sector is different from the private sector, so you can't compare the salaries and benefits and say the public workers have no right to make more than the private sector..that's simply bullshit....of course they do!! if I worked for the gov't in a career that demanded I get state certification, that demanded I learn many disciplines, then I become more valuable and the money should rise with my skill levels..and there are plenty of areas where you can climb the ladder in the public sector...but public sector work is mainly service oriented, not profit motivated....that's the key difference..I want professionals running the services I pay taxes for..the water plant, the wastewater plant, the cops and firefighter, the big pipe cleaning trucks and all the work that is done in the city and county that people generally don't hear about until a water main breaks...

we do hear about the private sector alot...most private sector folks understand what's going on but there are still lots complaining about jobs...look, there's plenty of jobs if you're not afraid to get your hands dirty...but the problem is there are a few daisies who are afraid to get their hands dirty, so they run to the big money folks like Wendy McCaw....Nipper did it, and Lanny Ebenstein did it...ran right to Wendy and that's where they hide...behind her skirt! and Wendy DID NOT work for her money, she got it thru a divorce!!! naturally, these people have no work ethic....and continue to view public workers as personal servants...

so when Lanny continues to call for the end to collective bargaining for public workers and cites a study from the conservative Goldwater Institute, I just roll my eyes..here we go again...Goldwater was against labor unions and tried to tie them to communism, which really scares the conservatives! of course it's nonsense but these guys are very fearful by nature and that's why they covet money....it insulates them from the realities of life like WORKING FOR A LIVING AND PAYING A MORTGAGE...a mortage is an unfunded liability by the way!!!

now we know that conservatives in Wisconsin and Ohio tried to bust the unions and eliminate collective bargaining rights...rights that have been in place since the 1950s! and Lanny says that Wisconsin ended collective bargaining and saw immediate benefits...that's nonsense..what happened is voters in Ohio overwhelmingly restored to public employees Nov. 8 their collective bargaining rights that a conservative majority in the state tried to take away led by Gov John Kasich.... a FOX NEWS hound conservative who calls cops idiots...

and Wisconsin Gov Scott Walker ( who spoke at Wendy's Young Miss America Foundation recently) is facing a recall because of corruption and anti-public worker bias...some of his aides were doing political fundraising on taxpayer time....the anti-collective bargaining law he signed is being repealed as we speak...and over one million signatures were gathered to force a recall election....

this is all about curbing union ie working class power: but Ohioans voted to repeal a Republican-backed law that restricted collective bargaining for public workers, a victory for Democrats and labor organizers both nationally and in the state.
AP has declared Issue 2 (as the law was called on the ballot) dead. As of this writing, with about 75 percent of precincts in, repeal led by a whopping 62 to 38 percent margin.
Gov. John Kasich (R) took office in January vowing to curb unions’ power. But he appears to have overstepped his hand in curtailing the rights of 350,000 public workers — including firefighters and police officers — to negotiate over benefits, equipment and other issues.

I think it's kinda stupid to go after people who put their lives on the line everyday or work in hazardous environments to keep the cities safe....but we're talking Lanny and the News-Press here..and ironically, collective bargaining is the time to either restrict or reduce benefits that indeed are excessive....do it at the negiotiating table

and all these folks like Lanny were cheerleaders for the free market greed that caused the financial meltdown which is now in recovery mode...people have sobered up and that's why conservative governors are being recalled...the stock market today is a much healthier place with less huge swings....

it is high time to tax churches casinos non profits and all those trying to fly below the radar....sin taxes are good..booze and cigarettes continue to impact quality of life with higher insurance rates and litter and those mofo drunk drivers...they should pay their own way and stop making taxpayers subsidize their stupid vices!!!

collective bargaining has been going on for years thru good and bad financial times...it's just a political issue for conservatives...Pete Wilson tried to steal public pensions when he was govwenor, and now all the wankers like Lanny are looking at that billion dollar PERS fund as theirs..it's not theirs, it's the public workers who've been investing for their future...if you're in the private sector and you failed to plan ahead, too bad, so sad..every worker should be putting away money for their retirement in some sort of mutual fund so that after twenty years the investments pay off..and there's plenty of folks like Lanny or Arnold or Bernie Madoff who want to steal that money....so regulation of the markets/banks is important because there's just too many crooks who take your money and make risky investments..and lose it all!!!

so here's my advice to Lanny..stop sucking Nipper's dick and get a real job ...AND LEARN TO PAY YOUR MORTGAGE (S).... and stop being a slumlord!!!

Tony gets 30 days in the hole for battery....at taxpayer expense!!

so I 'm watching the Mr Wimpy Show AKA Worthen One on One..actually this is one of the funniest shows on TV! these guys are rightwingers to the max and it's funny watching them justify the dying GOP, which they helped kill....

but this show had Mike Stoker as guest...Mike is always fun to watch ramble on about nutty stuff...and he mentions he's a principled guy about every five minutes...really..with friends like Joe Armendariz and Lanny Ebenstein how can you call yourself principled?? and the Greka Oil stint didn't show much in the way of principles..just alot of cover-ups, lies and blaming the left wingers for the multitide of oil spills...Greka leased land from Brooks Firestone and Cowboy Willy and Greka was always spilling oil into creeks, on the land. containment vessels would overflow and the county had to be called in many times at taxpayer expense to invesigate the operations which were deemed incompetent and inadequate...so to clean up their image, Greka hired Stoker as a spokesman, who stood before cameras and claimed a phantom saboteur was responsible for the leaks...in fact, untrained incompetent manangement and operators were the problem....you can't close a valve and expect oil to flow through it...the oil will back up and over and out onto the land!!! Mike made alot of excuses for Greka....and Brooks Firestone is one of the sugar daddies that keeps guys like Mike running (and losing) for office...they don't like regulations that hold them accountable!

so Worthen kept pressing Mike about his plans to run for some office again..when Mike runs he loses alot and keeps blaming Das Williams for his problems...then Worthen asks Mike if he plans to sue Wells Fargo bank...Mike looks surprised and complains about the questions then says he may sue Wells Fargo because they are predatory lenders and he, Mike has principles..he didn't go into any details so the only thing I could get from that was Mike took out a loan he couldn't afford to repay and he's blaming the bank!!

and then Mr. Wimpy asks about Mike's broken rib..apparently Stoker, while stumping for Romney, got into a tussle in New Hampshire with a slippery shower or a Gingrich campaign staffer and wound up with a broken rib and black eye...Mike said he slipped in the shower going for a towel but also said he got in a few punches on the staffer....that was a weird exchange...sounds like booze was involved!!

ok, so we got Mike, Lanny and Joe, the Three Stooges, all members or former members of the Santa Barbara County Taxpayer Association and all with money issues...mishandling their own finances while preaching economic morality...

the SBCTA website was last updated in 2009....it was funny reading the bios of these guys..gee they all appear to be professional and successful and highly accomplished gentlemen...
but we know differently now, don't we... the only link that doesn't work on the website is to Joe's email, so maybe they canned him....

I stayed at a few Carp ranches before I got the condo in the 90s...the first was Rancho Monte Alegre I've mentioned before....it was owned by a bunch of people from the east and I rented the old pink bungalo that westerm movie gal Olive Carey lived in until she died...there were ghosts in that house and I loved it..the stories the owners told of Ollie holding parties and guys like John Wayne, Robert Mitchum and of course Harry Carey Jr would always be there...I could just imagine what fun they had and these guys and Olive were the stars of the great old westerns..I grew up watching and loving them!!

then I got kicked out of the ranch one day because some of the owners were crazy..knocking on my door at night demanding I keep the lights on for Ollie! they served me with papers to move out!!

eventually the ranch sold...it's still beautiful but it will never be the same..
so I go to another ranch..the Young Ranch..a Spanish grant owned by John and June Young....long since gone, a nicer couple you couldn't find....we used to talk about water issues alot....

and I didn't know it at the time, but June was the inventer of Santa Claus Lane and the Big Yellow House..she was a big tough woman with a heart of gold..and she held Christmas dinners for the tenants at her house... it was beautiful..ornate with old furniture and bird cages...living up on those ranches made me fall for Carpinteria....what a history here!! Tom Johnson of the Doobie Bros lived up there for awhile..

so anyway I lived in a little brown clapboard house with a few cats..the possums would come in at night and eat the cat food...the rats would rumble below....I parked my truck across the road by a little storage shed..one bright sunny morning as I was getting in my truck to go to 7/11 to get coffee a pretty blonde gal came walking down the ranch road and asked me to give her a ride to Kim's Market..I looked at her and said "sure, hop in"....well the girl was Kym Herrin! the Playboy model and she was the girlfriend of the ranch owner's son..who knew??...man oh man I felt lucky..she was stunning and I gave her a ride and she said thanks..and that was that...

but it took about two minutes to get to Kim's Market from the ranch..imagine a Playboy centerfold riding in my truck with me..those coulda been the best two minutes of my life!!

the son found out about my little journey to Kim's with Kym and was a little pissed at me...then I said I gotta buy my own place to escape this nonsense so the condo offered the best of both worlds..close to the mountains and ocean yet all the modern conveniences I wanted..and my money going to me instead of a landlord...

so after I left, I was saddened to hear that the son died of drug issues..and yesterday I saw that someone named Kymberly Herrin was busted in Santa Barbara for burglery and drug issues..oh no, not Kym!!! please no! it must be a minunderstanding..a mistake......I hope it is...just some domestic stuff maybe
duck those bad impulses!!!

I say let her go...and hey Kym, I still got an extra room in the condo!

let's catch up on the latest from the folks who are sucking up the taxpayers' money...and I've assigned other media outlets to cover these issues for me while I critique them..this leaves me more time to goof off

Tony Denunzio's DUI hearing has been moved to Santa Maria courts due to the irresponsible coverage by the press and interfering with a police stop by some citizens....we can all thank Noozhawk and and the News-Press..their sensational, erroneous and biased "reporting" was pretty pathetic and now is costing the taxpayers....and the yuppiemuppies who interfered with the arrest..I'll have some more to say about that later....

you may remember Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Brian Hill granted a motion by Darryl Genis to suppress evidence in the Lance hearing and then Hill dimissed the case...the reasoning was he found no probable cause to stop Lance on New Year's Eve...even though Lance was DUI!! and Hill even said the officers had suspicion...Judge Hill is obviously a very confused man...

however, a judge in Santa Maria saw through the Genis charade real quick and found probable cause for Officer Tudor to stop Denunzio...well it looks like they got some real judges in the north...

Noozhawk reports that "Generally, a motion to suppress evidence, if granted, doesn’t leave enough evidence to proceed so cases are dismissed."....that's partly true girl.... in the Lance case, they had plenty of evidence to convict him, but the motion was entered because Genis argued the cops lacked probable cause, not because of lack of evidence!! a Motion to Suppress is a Hail Mary pass..if successful, it's a quick way to get your client off if the stop by the cop was deemed illegal and all evidence is not allowed...but Genis used it as a last resort in the Lance case and Judge Hill fell for it..there was plenty of evidence but no foundation for the trial....

now Genis is trying it as a first resort in the Denunzio case and the judge in Santa Maria didn't fall for it....they want to suppress evidence because there is plenty of it!! In the Denunzi case, Tony has got to explain why he was driving drunk and on a suspended license for a previous DUI....

speaking of Lance, I guess he's in hiding with his pals but plans maybe to sue the City of Santa Barbara....I predict he won't because he's just a blowfish...

and the head of a local nonprofit will be arraigned for DUI in February.....poor gal

Joe Armendariz, embattled and apparently delusional Carp city councilman "I'm doing a great job!" was arraigned in court on Wednesday for DUI...he was driving with a BAC of 0.18 and crashed into a tree....they discussed possible settlements (ie, plead guilty and accept responsibility) and enhancement of charges..the case was continued to February.....at taxpayer expense..it seems Joe simply can't control himself in certain social situations and has become a liability to the City of Carpinteria..elected councilmembers are ambassadors not embarrassadors for the city and should conduct themselves as such..if that's a problem, then stay away from public service..

yes all this irrawaddy behavior costs the taxpayer money...I'll take a look at the Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association tomorrow with a focus on three members: Joe Armendariz, Lanny Ebenstein and Mike Stoker..and the ironic twist of fate that put these three amigos in similar dire straights....

so the SBIFF opened and the first movie they show is some sappy thing about..guess what.. a dog...dogdammit....a new movie about a dog with Diane Keaton...once so good in Woody Allen films, her career is over so now she does dog movies...how sad..the film is called "Darling Companion"....oh did I mention, it's about a dog...I predict it will flop...

but the weather was pretty fine on Thursday....warm and breezy and I started feeling like I was in Hawaii.....I put on my Hawaiian shirt and flip flops and went for a bike ride to the beach...it was great...just like Hawaii... it was a feeling that followed me into the evening.....

so I find out later that Blue Hawaii was on that night and I thought why didn't they play that at the opening of the film festival....Roger Durling is kinda fruity and it's just a great Elvis film about pineapples...Elvis plays a guy named Chad coming back from a "stitch in the army"...Elvis wants to be a beach bum but his parents want him to join the family pineapple farm...of course that's not gonna happen because this is Elvis....just another refuge from a wealthy family...

he rides around with his girlfriend in a little red sports car..the scenery is beautiful...and hey there's a little dog in the beginning...but this is a people film...and Elvis sings "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You"....wow...

and I enjoyed the rest of the movie with fine and goofy performances by the likes of Angela Lansbury who plays Elvis' southern belle mama and warns her husband "daddy" not to ply Elvis with intoxicating spirits....he's a young healthy kid who prefers pineapple juice!

what fun.....what a nice break from the phony slop that passes for movies today......so I plan to get some pineapple today and try it with some salt, like Elvis and the girls did...yeah..Elvis and the girls.....

News-Press engages in anti-child campaign..promotes pets over kids!

I find this appalling and as close to despicable as anything I could ever imagine!

now you may remember the story about the pit bill named Mikey that Wendy Mac adopted...then I noticed that local animal crazy chick Karen Lee Stevens, who writes a pet column in the Daily Sound and claimed that cows are effective problem solvers...oh, really..why isn't a cow running for president then?? wait I take that back..cows solved my hunger issues and this nice leather coat keeps me warm!

Ms. Karen also praised Wendy for adopting the special pit bull Mikey....I hinted that these ladies are nuts about animals because of their own fear of children....

now there's a story in the News-Press about couples who choose not to have kids...and we know Wendy has no kids....but Karen (a Wendy clone) was in the story and she and her boyfriend, John Travolta's step brother, have chosen not to have children..well fuck I'm sorry to hear that....

I guess the jist is that kids take up too much valuable time from these adults, the time they need to travel and cook and be with each other....damn kids are just in the way!!
well here's tip of the hat to parents who do all that stuff even with kids.....work play love fight....and try their best to be good parents at the same time...

now these other folks are just not that interesting to me but what is interesting is Karen Lee is publishing a book called "Animals have Feelings, too"....about how pets show their emotions...the book was financed with $7000 from Wendy!! geez, talk about a waste!!

now, any time you attribute human traits to animals, you are not dealing with a full deck....and we know for a fact that Wendy's deck is stacked with jokers...

but you actually do a disservice when you lie about animals and lie to kids....I've enjoyed many animals from cats to horses...there is a bond no doubt between people and animals...but when you can't separate instinct from emotions then you create neurosis in both the person and the pet..the evidence is everywhere....your dog "loves" you because you feed him, that's all....same with a cat...they are domesticated..it's a learned behavior..but their instincts are still available as needed....

ok so after the meeting in Carp, I had a dream about the meeting in Carp...I was sitting in the crowd when all of a sudden Our House by CSN came over the loud speaker and the ceiling lit up and I started singing real loud and everyone chimed in...our house, is a very very fine house...

I think I know what that was about..maybe it's time to clean house...so the next day, this morning I find out that councilmember Kathleen Reddington arrived late to the meeting, just in time to miss the Armendariz issue....so is this woman a flake or what..she blamed traffic on 101 but I really think we need to oust her too! but this isn't really about politics, it's about drunk driving and personal responsibility...we certainly need a more thorough vetting process before anyone runs for office...

and I thought it was cute that Joe and Joe Jr are both being arraigned in January....it's always nice when a local councilmember and his son are arraigned on drug related charges!

well I figured I'd go to the Carp City Council Monday night meeting to see what they had in store for councilmember Joe Armendariz...I got there at about 5:15 PM for the 5:30 PM meeting...usually I don't go to these meetings because things are nice and slow in Carp...just how I like 'em..but today was different....so I get there and sit down and folks start filtering in...the Noozhawk gal, the News-Press punks, hey, there's Nick Welsh from the Independent..then I see Bill Connel the Hot Dog man looking very stern...geez lighten up everyone, we're just here for a lynching!!

then I see..holy shit is that her..is that Julia ..is that #69 ..yes!! it is..she walks in with a hippie chick and Julia was skinny and dressed in tight designer jeans and high black leather boots..GRRRRRRR....she looks like Nancy Sinatra!! she's cute but scary..I took her picture and she smiled..at somebody....well heck I think there's hope for us yet!!! I know what, I'll send her a JPEG picture of myself!!

then Joe and the Mayor and Greg Carty come in and sit at the council dias..Joe's looking down alot and frowning gulping some Starbucks, but doesn't look drunk....hey I heard Starbucks will be selling beer and wine soon!! no wonder everyone is so jittery!!

then we wait some more and find out that Stein and Reddington won't be at the meeting! Stein is sick and Reddington is I don't know...

everyone stands for the Pledge of Allegiance so I get a back side picture of #69:)

then one public speaker..then the city lawyer goes into something about free speech and public comment and what people need to be aware of...in other words, you can't threaten anyone...

then Joe asks if public comment is a safe haven for people to slander and libel other people...that was a defensive move/question because Joe was probably expecting some not so nice words directed at him...then the city attorney says there's a distinction between opinion and libel/slander....like if someone calls you an idiot, it's not slander, it's opinion...otherwise I would have sued my whole family!!!

so next we get some cold water splashed in our faces because without the other two councilmembers, an action can't be taken on Joe tonight, so they tabled it until next meeting...
so I left...and the next meeting should be pretty wild if the same players show up...is it a date Julia??

now, when the News-Press did a front page story on Elton Gallegly's retirement, they totally neglected to tell us about his sweetheart deal with toxic bank Countrywide! they reported that Elton voted to impeach Clinton for bonking Monica, but not a word about the sweetheart deal with the bank.....Galegely says he doesn't remember anything....as usual, the Ventura County Star has the story

so the Top Hat Burger Palace (palace...now there's some satire!) joint in Ventura was sold for condo development...but the place re-opened recently by the high school..that's good but the old place was gritty and wonderful Ventura from the old days...freaks and cowboys and businessmen and pretty girls...living on Poli St..with an ocean view..for $60 a month....

and now a Hooter's restaurant is opening in the Ventura Thousand Oaks area....is there anything wrong with getting a meal delivered by a pretty young woman dressed in a bathing suit..no, there isn't...this is America....and I've always loved waitresses...

I was appalled at what could only be called close to despicable (thanks Newt) at what I witnessed while watching a SBCAG meeting on gov't TV...now, normally I don't watch these meetings because they annoy me...they do meet to discuss highway/traffic safety and other issues but there's like fifty members of the committee! some were sitting on each others laps due to lack of room! there was a father and son team on the committee..the rightwinger Lavagnino dudes from Santa Maria! can't these guys do anything without their mommies and daddies close by?? I guess not

and I can never follow what gets done in these meetings and I'm not about to try now....but the irony here is Joe Armendariz is the chair! one way to improve highway safety is not drive drunk..duh...

and then the public comment section came and a guy who couldn't see, a sign language lady and a bunch of gals who spoke only Spanish came up to speak and then a lady with a moustache came up....stay off the highways all of you! well it was about bus needs so they don't drive...which is very wise of them..don't drive if you can't..

and I had to laugh at Joe who for some reason looked like Judy Garland at the meeting....maybe it was the pancake make-up or the glasses??

Joe why are you here?? why are you on this committee, this board? who put you on this board? who in their right mind would put you on this board? why don't you leave?

then Janet Wolf suggests that Joe not attend an upcoming meeting in OZ (DC) to see the Wizard (Obama)...being that Joe is the outgoing chair, they would normally send him with two other members on the trip, but Janet nixed Joe's participation saying that there's just too many trees in OZ and Joe might hurt himself..

I think SBCAG needs to be dissolved and the poor people who ride buses need to fend for themselves.....transportation need not be so complicated that it needs fifty people on a committee...

oh yeah, I think we need to plant some rubber trees by the highway in Carp so when you smash into one, it won't hurt you or your car..and some rubber trees even got hooters!!

hey didya hear? Tony Denunzio was found guilty of battery on an 18 year old kid... that NP story was buried on page 4 while the story about Tony's arrest on DUI and alleged police brutality was front and center on page 1!

Tone was found innocent of domestic violence against his girlfriend, but it's just a matter of time before he wallops her too..gee Tony why don't you pick on someone your own size, like Officer Tudor? oh yeah I forgot....oh and I see Darryl Genis says it was a victory for his client Denunzio because Tony was not found guilty of hitting his girlfriend....he says if the kid hadn't called the cops, Tony wouldn't be in court.....now there's some twisted logic! and the girlfriend for unknown reasons didn't show up for court again....

and where's Noozhawk on this story? oh that's right , they support poor Tony which means they support a criminal drunk driver and a guy who hits teenagers..nice..I mean GRRRREATT!!

so you see the most socially irresponsible among us are sucking up the tax dollars to prosecute them....I say we go back to frontier justice and let Tony spend some quality time with a few taxpayers....I volunteer

now the other thing that caught my eye was the Santa Barbara Planning Commission meeting...Sheila Lodge's hair made me choke on my fruit punch...I thought I was watching a National Geographic wild animal special! c'mom Sheila, the flip and frost thing has got to go!

and the ex- planning commissioner who got busted for DUI had her day in court up north...I think she was at the end of her tenure on the commission and maybe she was celebrating..but it's gonna cost her!

Albany police said Allison Lee, 49, rear-ended a car at the intersection of Lark and Lancaster streets shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday. After failing a field sobriety test, police said her blood alcohol content was found to be .14 percent. She was arraigned this morning in Albany City Court.

one thing I could never imagine is my parents having sex..you know what I mean? I mean they always tried to portray themselves as goody two shoes and tried to be role models, but considering I come from a big family....or a mingling of two families and I have relatives..well the point is they all had sex....the panting the sighing the breathing the OH JESUS GOD KATHY!!!???

now, I didn't attend the hearing in Ventura because I've seen this act before..and because I had a pressing engagement..but Lance and Genis have simply gone off the deep end and are wasting taxpayer money with their charade..their little vendetta against Officer Kasi Beutel...she arrested Lance for DUI last year on New Year's eve and he's been trying to prove he's still an investgative reporter with the help of the News-Press...his long rambling stories about his arrest was evidence that Lance has a few screws loose...

he fooled some gullible people but if you haven't figured it out by now, you should..Lance is a fraud...Genis is a fraud and the News-Press of course, is a fraud...

now it's interesting that Scott Steepleton, who is the personal spinmaster for Lance and Genis reports about ducking subpoenas...

why the courts continue to indulge these guys is beyond me...but I think justice is just around the corner and of course Officer Beutel didn't duck any subpoenas as Lance wants us to believe...the News-Press hasn't reported on Darryl Genis propensity to schedule DMV hearings, not subpoena anyone and then phone in sick to prolong the process..maybe so Lance could keep his license a little longer?? who knows but it seems that Santa Barbara taxpayers are footing the bill when no less than three lieutenants, a City Attorney, one sworn officer (Kasi Beutel) on overtime and the Attorney General had to show up for this hearing....thanks Peter and Darryl!

well at this point Officer Kasi Beutel is looking like Superwoman for putting up with these two knuckleheads because Genis and Lance couldn't make any of the contempt charges stick....again

I had a hard time figuring what SOPA is and what it isn't...I mean SOPA..it's that little white bar you use in the shower? that Italians use..gimme the sopa...sopa on a ropa??

well, it's the Stop Online Piracy Act that is creating a controversy...first of all, Rupert Murdoch supports it so I'm inclined to be against it...GOOGLE is against it so I'm inclined to agree with them...
now no one wants to be pirated I'm sure, stealing music downloads and movies and the like, but SOPA seems like an over-reach...

there are many distinctions on line...and when folks cross the line, deal with them on a one by one basis...

if they take stuff you copyright, in some cases it's ok to use...like my pal Bill McFadyen over at Noozhawk who got all uppity when I borrowed pic from his website..he complained it was copyrighted material, the pic of the two yuppiemuppies who witnessed the DeNunzio murder, he emailed me and asked me how I felt about copyrights and how much we both loved the Frist Amendment blah blah blah..then he tells me to remove the picture..so of course I did..I didn't have to, but I did...now I guess if SOPA were law, the powers that be could have tried to shut down my blog for using a little picture..that's silly and not necessary...and McFadyen is against SOPA..

most social websites and for-profit websites have terms of service and if you violate those terms, they can terminate you ...but there's no need to shut down the entire website because of a few idiots..

now one idiot in particular tried to fraudulently portray me as the host of his website on the Ning network a while back...of course I have no problem with any smartass doing a parody of me or anyone else....his website was called the Santa Barbara Heckler and he stole my identity to use for his blog...what a freakin dumbass...he paid to sign up on NING to try and bird dog me!

I called the NING team and they had me sign a sworn declaration that I had no affiliation with the Heckler site and they shut him down....they agreed with me that the Heckler was committing fraud...there's no reason to shut down NING just because of one little jerkoff!

that's how to handle online piracy....I have no issue with NING at all as they were very helpful...

Peter Lance could lose driver's license for drunk driving arrest...

ok so after I do a story on purifying the soul, the News-Press does a story on purifying the soul...

then when I did a story on Officer Kasi Beutel getting a promotion, the News-Press does a story on Sunday about it.....only they twisted it into a fiction like Scott Steepleton likes to do....

Scott claims that Chief Mannix told him that Beutel didn't technically get a promotion, just a raise in pay, an assignment for four years and was chosen among other applicants..that is what's known as a promotion in my book!

and of course he got his facts wrong again and a correction was issued the next day! this the Last Chance Texaco for the News-Press and Lance and Genis as they apparently try to convince a Ventura court that a public worker out on injury should somehow be bound and gagged and not allowed to talk to anyone.....good luck with that fellas and I scooped you Scott!!

now the real headline should be "Peter Lance could lose license for drunk driving arrest"....oh I hope so and let's also hope the Ventura judges are smarter than the Santa Barbara judges!

and hey where's Terry Tyler? after I did a story on his changed DUI position, he can't be found on the pages of the News-Press..doing guestatorials...hmmmm..did he get fired???

well today is Martin Luther King Jr day and I thought I'd check out some civil rights issues....

some countries don't allow women to vote or drive cars!! some folks in the USA are still trying to stop freedom of speech, the press and assembly!!

every now and then a person needs to purify the soul..sometimes I burn sage to smoke out the condo demons, but the best way is go out for a hike or bike ride...there's just nothing better...

it's especially important since the wide open spaces are disappearing being infilled with untoward stuff...but it's Saturday and I'll go check out the Bluffs since I haven't been in awhile....it's winter so I'm wearing a swimsuit...oh look, there's a well dressed lady in heels putting up "for sale" signs....Lagunitas hasn't been built yet and they're holding open house! just what we need more houses in Carp to replace agriculture....more crowds...I don't like it a bit...

but my goal today is to check out some of the native plantings the city of Carp did..see, they planted a bunch of natives, supplied them with their own irrigation system, and it seems after years of grow time, the little sycamore hybrids they planted look like twigs!! the salt cedar however is thriving I'm happy to say....they cut it down it grows back..it's good sign there's a healthy water supply below...

ok so I'm walking along and I see a big bird ahead...taller than me..it's about six and a half ft tall! gee, am I in Jurassic Park?? it looks like a pre-historic bird maybe brought to the Bluffs by all the new native plants!! COOOOOL!

anyway I watch the bird who's walking along and then he hangs a left onto the trail ahead of me..he's about twenty feet away....so I inch a little closer, he flies away then lands... I try to catch up but it flies away again always just in the nick of time..then I asked myself why am I chasing a giant bird instead of brunching with cultured women and drinking complex wines....

hey look over there someone carved someone's name in a tree! I ponder the love these two may have enjoyed...hey there's a stop sign on the beach..only in Carp would someone do that...that sign is a warning to coyotes not to kill the seals...but everyone knows coyotes can't read....

and on I go.. I check out the awesome coastline and off shore storms....they impart a spooky light from heaven above to the water below...like Mother Nature knitting me a sweater with silver threads and golden needles....paying attention to devine intervention...

ok so the Tony DeNunzio DUI trial is being moved up north at taxpayer expense because media whores like Noozhawk and the News-Press keep doing biased stories, sensational stories about the cops and relying on yupiiemuppiewuppies as witnesses when someone gets arrested....

I saw the KEYT story and Darryl was a few pounds heavier and Tony was nervously pacing outside the courthouse, dressed like a mafia dude waiting for a drug deal...oh yeah, Tony's on trial in SB for a domestic violence case....and whoa Nellie.. the News-Press had a great report on Denunzio....yes the News-Press because Scott Steepleton didn't write it ..Angel Pacheco did and acccording to the report Tony's girlfriend was supposed to testify on Friday but she couldn't be found..and on the night of the alleged domestic violence incident, there was a strong alcohol odor in the house, some chick was on the floor in the fetal position, some kid got shoved by Denunzio..and on and on....

geez, this Denunzio character is a flake!!!

but I don't think a change of venue is a good idea..and the DA screwed up....even with all the publicity, juries are smart enough to separate fact from fiction and render the proper judgement.... at this point, I can't say the same for Santa Barbara judges....

the first girl I kissed was Katy Shimataro in Massachusetts..we were about 11 and hung around around alot and found ourselves alone in my aunt's house one warm summer's day..so we pecked each other's cheeks...she was Italian with big brown eyes and a lovely smile..she was the reason I was living and Bobby Vinton was singing "roses are red my love, violets are blue, sugar is sweet my love, but not as sweet as you" on the transistor radio... I'll never forget her...

ok so after my post yesterday on Scott Steepleton, the News-Press assigned a reporter to help him get his facts straight..the tutor is Nora Wallace.. and as you can see, Scott has been demoted to staff writer from city editor! good luck, Nora!

so I go into SB for some things at Tri County Produce and to wash the truck and I see a bunch of movie trailers and people milling about by Fess Parkers Hotel...naturally I don't have my camera but find out Katy Perry is doing a music video at the carousel..I think she's so cute and talented and a damn smart business woman...

and the mystery of how nonprofit Joe and #69 got together was solved by a reader...the sick doggie brought them into each others' lives which is ironic and touching....thankfully the dog is ok..but I don't know about the other two!

all this reminds me of that great old song by the Hollies... "On a Carousel"..round and round and round and round we go.....and where it stops, nobody knows.....

Steepleton writes in Tuesday's News-Press about the new water rescue unit in the Santa Barbara Fire Dept....he falsely claims that the city was responsible for a few drowning deaths recently..the News-Press claimed that a woman who entered the water in the wee hours was allowed to drown because city workers didn't respond to her quick enough..NOT TRUE

then Steepleton claims that a wheelchair bound guy went over the side of Stearn's Wharf and drowned..NOT TRUE

now it 's clear that the News-Press is pathelogically anti-public worker and this is just more meat for the grill...the city was not responsible for either accident....and the guy in the wheel chair didn't die as Scott claims..he was rescued by by-standers and the Harbor Patrol!

and Scott Steepleton is the city editor of the News-Press??? only because he kisses up to Wendy obviously...the News-Press issued a correction the next day after emails scolded them for being so godamm stupid!!

gee, who's the editor who would catch these mistakes? oh yea..SCOTT would!!! and didn't Scott try to blame one of Wendy's enemies for possessing child porn on one of Wendy's computers? sounds like a cover-up to me....does Scott like little boys??? I heard he dresses up like a priest on weekends!!

when confronted, Scott blamed the economy and the unions for his faux pas... "I was distracted by a young man when I wrote that piece..and besides, Lance makes up stuff all the time and he won 755 emmy awards!!"

well I've set things up so the bad folks are hanging themselves with their own ropes and the good folks are fighting for what's right..now I didn't think it would turn out like this but I don't even have to attend a Carp city council meeting and I got the News-Press and KEYT telling me what's going on... all the details of the taxpayer funded Joe Armendariz soap opera...that is ironic and I'm pleased as punch about it!

it may have something to do with the biblical fast and getting what you want..I heard a televangelist say if I fast for 21 days, people will start plopping down money in my lap....so I'm gonna fast and after 21 days I'll either be dead or the richest guy in the world! however, I might have to attend the next meeting in personhood...

now when I read the News-Press account of the Monday Carp council meeting, we had Joe stubbornly refusing to resign, hanging on like Mikey the pit bull... his kid Joe Jr defending his dad....his kid getting accused of taking a picture that someone else took of Joe's sick dog...the Surf Dog guy really wants the troubled councilman to resign!

Councilwoman Reddington called in the sheriff and the picture was returned to the council...I don't know what the significance of the dog is but I'm sure after a few days of fasting the info will be provided to me..from someone somewhere without me having to lift a finger...God I love working at nothing all day ...

then the SB City Council ceremonial meeting with all the lovey dovey smoochie poochie going on..the applause the tears the outgoing and incoming councilmembers..Mike Self with all the emotions... it was despicable!!!

ok..2012 is starting off with a real bang

first I miss the Hot Tuna show due to the flu....Jorma and Jack.....damn! I always wanted to see Jorma do "Embryonic Journey" at the Lobero...instead I get stuck at home...sneezing every five minutes..how is this fair?

then I read that Wendy treated Dennis Miller, Peter Noone and Nipper to lunch at a new Mexican restaurant in SB...three clueless wankers if I ever saw 'em....altho I liked "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter"..

then I see a local coffee shop owner and doctor were arrested for sex with 14 year old girl..a family friend.... I guess they were double teaming her over a period of a year..the guys had homes in SB and Mammoth, the ski resort...and are probably conservative small business-minded Republicans...just beware of doctors and coffee shop owners now I guess...

then I see Michael Douglas' son Cameron got a stiff sentence for drug possession in jail and his mom Cassandra is blaming the judge....then I see Michael Douglas doing an acting gig on PBS about Hollywood blacklisting..Mike was so outraged at how the actors were treated by the Academy.....kinda like Mike's friend Wendy treats her workers!! Mike looked into the camera and looked sincere..really really sincere....Douglas is a phony sonofabitch...but due to the flu, I was stuck watching him...

then I see Mr.Wimpy has got religion as he interviews the associate pastor at the First Presbytarian Church in SB....Erik Weibe is the pastor's name..they talked about skateboarding and other goofy stuff...hey Erik, did ya know Mr. Wimpy thinks people who drive drunk are a-ok? did ya know that?? are all these folks now turning to organized religion when nothing else works??? did Pete and Mr. Wimpy break up??

the Daily Sound had some weird moments for the new year..the publisher Jeramy Gordon informed us that he now weighs about 300 pounds..that almost three Justin Beibers!! well you know what they say Jeramy...starve a cold, feed a fever....mmmm I just had pint of Pecan Prelines ice cream to cool me down! then Jeramy says he gonna lose all the excess fat soon...

then the Pet chick Karen Lee Stevens column in the Daily Sound praised Wendy McCaw for adopting Mikey the special pit bull...I would be really impressed if Wendy adopted a child instead...these are the kind of women who are over the top with animals like the lady and the chimp named Travis...she and Travis drank wine and dined and slept together..then Travis finally killed one of her friends and was shot..but when the Pet chick informs me that cows are "intelligent, sentient beings who form complex social relationships, can recognize one another and enjoy an array of activities including problem solving" then I get a hankering of a Jumbo Jack but not as many as Jeramy would eat!

then Karen Lee says the boys from Lompoc who killed the owls will be on trial soon per #69...I looked and didn't see anything on the website then emailed the north county DA..he said he couldn't comment on any matter involving juveniles..well if these two guys are put on trial for killing 4 owls, then the Parks Service and Nature Conservancy should be put on trial for killing thousands of animals on the Channel Islands from pigs to foxes to owls to sea birds.....you name it, they killed it...

then I see Ty Warner made a special Beany Baby and had some celebs sign it...anything for publicity...Santa Barbara has always had celebs but they weren't so hungry for the camera..they came here to hide from the cameras...Mitchum, Wayne, Harry Carey Jr.. used to hang out in the hills of Carp and Montecito back in the day and they would've kicked Ty Warner's ass for turning Montecito into a pampered poodle!!

hey for 2012 I thought it would be fun to do only stories about dogs...that's right ..every post will be about dogs...so today I have provided some dog educational material per Wendy from the Chicago area...the place with all the lakes...I love Chicago having lived there as a kid..and nothing will change that not even this story about mean dog owners who forced their pit bull terriers to attack......

Pit Bull Attack!!

The owner of the two pit bulls killed by Chicago police after they attacked a lakefront jogger has been ticketed for failing to restrain them and not having city licenses for them, authorities said.

Police wouldn't identify the owner and said he would not be criminally charged.

On Monday, only hours after he tried unsuccessfully to rescue the jogger, hitting the dogs repeatedly with a baseball bat, Stanley Lee described what happened.

It was hot in his South Shore apartment, Lee said, so he cracked open a window. That’s when he heard the screams for help.

Lee’s apartment overlooks Rainbow Beach Park along the lakefront, and through his window he witnessed a frightening scene: two pit bulls attacking a 62-year-old jogger.

“He was saying, ‘Help me, help me,’” Lee said. Grabbing a baseball bat, the 35-year-old Lee ran outside to try to chase the dogs away from the jogger. He said he hit the dogs repeatedly with the bat, to no avail.

“They just wouldn’t let the man go,” Lee said.

Arriving police officers were confronted by the dogs and fatally shot them, authorities said
The jogger, Joseph Finley, was in critical condition Monday night after undergoing surgery at Stroger Hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Finley, who was believed to live in the neighborhood, was bitten over his entire body, including his legs, arms and face, police said. Lee noted a deep wound to the man’s leg.

Minutes after an ambulance took Finley away, a pair of running shoes and ankle weights lay near the bloodied grass in the park at 7715 S. South Shore Drive. Bloody snow also remained on a path where one of the dogs was shot to death.

Meanwhile, residents near Rainbow Beach Park were wondering why two pit bulls had been in the park off-leash.

Darlene Henderson, who was out walking her two small dogs in the hours after the attack, said she often sees dogs unattended or off their leashes.

Despite reports to animal control officials, “nothing ever happens,” she said, adding that she now carries Mace during her twice-daily walks. Henderson’s own cocker spaniel mix, Keefer, was attacked two years ago in the park by a Rottweiler but survived after surgery.

Henderson also once saw a pit bull tear a child’s coat off, though the child wasn’t harmed, she said.

“I don’t know what it is with the pit bulls,” she said, referring to how many she sees living in the neighborhood, which has struggled with violent crime in recent years.

Adesoji Adeyinka, who also lives near the area of the attack, said he will rethink his weekend walks along the beach with his two young daughters.

“I won’t let them out there, even with me,” he said, adding that he has seen unleashed pit bulls in the area, but usually with owners standing nearby.

TeResa Gaddis also lives near Rainbow Beach Park. She saw one of the dead dogs as she walked her two German shepherd mixes Monday morning just before animal control officials cleared the scene.

“It’s a shame all the way around. It just broke my heart to see them lying there,” she said.

Joggers are especially susceptible to aggressive dogs, Travis said, because they’re in constant motion.

“The sad part is, joggers are interesting to dogs. A jogger is almost by definition appealing to a dog,” she said. “Our advice to anybody is if you’re out someplace (and a dog charges), you’re not going to outrun it so be as still as possible, don’t make eye contact and look down. If a dog is acting threatening, curl up into a ball and try to protect your internal organs.”

well I had to read between the lines a little before I got Wendy's message to her loyal readers..loyal meaning dog-loyal..she thinks you people are dogs which might be ok 4u since she likes dogs more than people...

but she tells us dogs that she has a new dog..a kinda wacky looking pit bull named Mikey..after Mike Stoker??

I dunno but she goes on and on about dogs are only mean if their owners are mean and that Mikey doesn't have mean bone in his body..blah blah blah...I mean who cares... we're talking dogs here!!!

all this sappy dog talk gives me the hives....people like Wendy are starving for love and affection they didn't get from their parents and the only place they can get it is from a dog....not a wild dog like a coyote mind you, but a domestic dog that as far as I can tell has no practical use other than filling a mommy or daddy role to an emotionallly wounded adult...

but anyway reading between the lines I see the greeting from Wendy was not about dogs at all! it was about Peter Lance, Scott Steepleton, Nipper, Katich and the Baron..all the mutts in her little kingdom...

now the reason I believe this is coz Wendy left little clues about her "reporters"....they may have received "bad press" (News-Press reference)..or when she says pit bulls are good with children and mentions "Petey" from the Little Rascals TV series in the 1950s...(Petey being an obvious reference to Peter Lance trying to tell us what a great guy he really is)...

and it's a well known fact that Petey often terrorized Buckwheat which is why black folks don't like dogs very much..and most pit bulls suffer from ADHD transferred to them from their nutjob owners...I hope Mikey survives Wendy

ok so after the tour of the police facilities, Corbett and I head out into the mean streets of Santa Barbara..the asphalt jungle..Paradise city....

and it's such a lovely day....a bit hot...we take the Range Master guy down to the city yard to get his vehicle checked out....this guy kinda scared me..he was cool and calm and had all the fire power over everyone else..and he knew it...if you do a tour, don't mess with the Range Master...the shot caller....the Big Kahuna...

then we park in the red zone for some temporary surveillance...the cops are always looking for things...the police cars are equipped with guns, roses, computers..everything....stuff is always coming into the computer and the officers are always checking..they pull over sometimes to read the info..so if you see a cop on the side of the road, he's not necessarily waiting for you to commit a crime, he's just doing his job! it's not always about you you know!! oh yeah..Happy New Year!!

but what was interesting is how people look at you when you're in a cop car...when we we're riding down State Street, I've never had so many eyes on me...glares, smiles, indifferent glances..but they all looked...and State was bustling on Friday..tourists everywhere, families, the kids by the hamburger joint...it was a very healthy place so I don't see why Randy and Dale are always complaining about it...or the News-Press...I swear these folks are just too silly for words!!

ok so before we cruised State Street a call came in about an incident at Cottage Hospital...a drunk guy was creating some trouble..so we went to check it out..another cop was on scene and had the guy in the back seat....

Corbett stopped and offered to transfer the drunk guy.....the other cop said "ok" and was freed up to take another call... yippee we got to take the drunk guy to County Jail...so I'm in the car watching this transpire..they're filling out forms, people gather to watch from a safe distance..they don't interfere like the yuppiemuppies did.. then the folks leave then gather again then leave again....

cops it seems always draw attention no matter what they do..there's an interesting psychology at work....even at stop signs, people freeze with fear until the cop tells them it's ok, go ahead... I won't kill you...

anyway back to the drunk guy....wasted is the word..really fucked up is even better...Corbett goes over and helps him out of the car into his cruiser...I can smell the booze! so as a ridealong passenger I got a drunk guy and a rifle behind my left ear in this cop car....wow...that's never happened before!!!

after about 30 minutes we leave for the county jail...we go thru some remote contolled gates and park outside the back entrance....the inmates' entrance....the Sally Port..the very same entrance that Michael Jackson walked through before Sneddon finally killed him....

I am only allowed to go into little waiting room... can't go into the main hall where the action is..and no pictures inside...but this place is creepy...thru the thick glass I see some holding cells with prisoners peering at me..Corbett walks our drunk fellow into the hall and the dude falls down, his pants are falling down, he can't even pull them up....his life is falling down..and the place wreaked of old drunks and disinfectant and desolation...it was pretty sad...

I watched as Corbett and the other officers tended to the drunk guy...cops are babysitters, peacekeepers, psychologists, stern disciplinarians to adults who for whatever reason can't take care of themselves..this drunk guy has been arrested many many times before and was listed as a stalker, a police safety threat and numerous other issues with him..what a waste of taxpayer money dealing with these guys!!

so we drop him off and say good-bye and head back into Santa Barbara..Corbett does a little stake out on a guy who has a complaint against him....we're about a block from lower State St...the guy allegedly was threatening to kill his old girlfriend and stalking her, so Corbett wanted to catch him at his place of work and arrest him...but the guy didn't show up...then another cop pulls over someone who ran a red light and we check it out...today Friday, the cops are short-handed so they gotta do everything....

it is obvious they need more cops because some are doubling as dispatchers..being crossed trained and thereby not out patrolling the streets..if this sounds like an ad for more police it is!!

I think pulling cops off the beat was councilman Dale Francisco's idea...cross training may work in other fields like selling tee shirts at Territory Ahead, but being a cop is a specialized career..it makes no sense to make a cop do dispatch work..let the trained dispatchers do that!! do we really need to pay cultish nativists in the city Creeks Dept $100000/year to monitor weeds?? it's crazy....

so we cruise down State St and got some waves from young kids..it was cool..cops have alot of power and maybe the News-Press and Team Wendy members are threatened by that, hence the smear jobs... I would like to see Steepleton do a ride-along and a story but I bet his mommy wouldn't let him....

so there's some misconceptions about the cops thanks to media clowns like the News-Press..that's obvious...initially, I found a well run city function in the Police Dept, and people who were professional and friendly...and eager to get to work...what more do you want from your government?? accountability? it's all there for anyone to see if you care to expend the effort...

so we ended the tour and I thanked Officer Corbett...the day was still rather hot but started to cool down..I jumped in my truck and headed back home.. a cool thick fog greeted me and it was a welcome sight..it was getting dark and the heavy mist cast a spooky glow among all the headlights and street lights....it was kinda Silver Bells because I could still see the moon and stars....and the pretty girls

well, I went into Santa Barbara Friday around 12:15 PM and it took me 20 minutes from Carp! 20 MINUTES!! traffic is heavy all day and all of the night..all day and all of the night..so I'm thinking as I'm dawdling among other drivers if my slacks are ok..if I look ok enough to ride in a cop car..yes I do..

so I get to the police station at 1:00 PM and wait in the lobby and a tall cop comes out and greets me..hey it's Officer Mark Corbett...the News-Press can't stop writing delusional fiction about him and his wife!

so we enter the cavernous police headquarters...this place is cool..it's got everything...if the world ends I'm heading here to hideout...they'd never find me!!

Officer Corbett gives me the dime tour.... he gives me a sticker to put on my jacket alerting everyone I'm the "ride-along"..then I meet the gal who I talked on the phone with....Oh Oh Pretty Woman!! then we check some other places out..the command and control center, a lab.... little rooms.. big rooms..crazy rooms...freezers..lockers...computers and monitors..the dispatch center....I COULD RULE THE WORLD FROM THIS ROOM!!

next we looked at the little city jail that reminded me of Alcatraz...had to be careful what I photographed due to the sensitve nature of this particular operation...

then some cadets were coming down the stairs and addressed Corbett as "sir"...this was just after I met the Range Master...that's right.... the SBPD has a range master...he asks Corbett if he wants to shoot...Corbett says yeah..so we all go to the shooting gallery....

now if you saw the movie Magnum Force when Clint shoots targets in the gallery with the younger cops, then you'll know how I felt....before we entered I got issued safety glasses and hearing protectors....the range master set up the scenerio for Corbett...it's how the cops train for dangerous situations when lethal force may be necessary...they use a simulated crime scene with posters of fake criminals with guns...the bad guys and some pictures of cops with guns, the good guys...

then the shooting started..yeah baby... that's what I'm talking about!! Corbett pulls out the cold blue steel and... bam bam bang bang boom boom!!!

I was in a little booth/control room and I heard it loud and clear....Jesus it was loud like a cannon!! then we went to check out the targets to see what he hit.....spent shell casings everywhere and holes in the bad guys..the good guys had no holes in them.....wow, that was a cool demo...

the police station has a lot of things going on...it's a cool building but obviously needs to be bigger and better.....for the cops and the citizens.. move them out of the basement!

Santa Barbara would be crazy to deny the funds to upgrade the site... preventing the Granada garage fiasco could have paid for it..maybe instead of pissing money away on redoing local creeks that don't need more than a cleaning once a year, or redoing sidewalks every week, or spending money to turn around some benches on State St, the focus should on getting a new police station....let's see some real leadership on the council!! and not one member of the Santa Barbara City Council has done a ride-along..Dale... Frank..Mayor..where's the commitment??

now, I told you before I was gonna try to do a ride-along with a Santa Barbara cop since they are the most notorious...the city has a Ride-Along program..you fill out an application, they do a background check, then they call you to set up a time and that's what happened...I guess they missed my stint in jail ..whew!! I was in a prison cell with Merle Haggard when we got busted for vagrancy years ago...man that dude could play the guitar!! him and Buck Owens

so the police gal calls me and I'm not home so when I get home I call her back...and we set up a time and I tell her I want a blonde cop woman who's really sexy, she tells me knock it off with the lame jokes, this is serious business..she tells me to wear slacks and a shirt...no shorts or tee shirts..I need to look professional...slacks and a shirts?? I said...can I wear a turtleneck I ask her..she giggles, then says "yes" in a sultry voice

well just my luck and I get a guy cop..so today I'll go to the police station and wait in the lobby until my cop picks me up...the only thing is that Peter L and Tony D already did a ride along..in the back seat with handcuffs on..AHAHAHAH!!!!

can anyone explain to me why whenever I buy a pack of chicken thighs from the grocery store I get a free tampax included? I don't get it...I open the package and take out the chicken and on the bottom is a tampax...

are these chickens range free? or stay free chickens? do chickens get periods?? I mean really, I go to the grocery store for some chicken and I come back a with a freakin' tampax!! and why do I have a package of tampax in my bathroom vanity?? where'd that come from?? oh yeah..now I remember..

and I watched the Rifleman as a kid and enjoy the series whenever I can..there was one episode called "the Vision" where Mark visits his dead mother in a dream..it was a strange one, but the actress who played his mom was Marian Seldes.......and I related to it because my mom died when I was 8, just like Mark....and Seldes looked like my mother!!

so I 'm watching Mona Lisa Smile, the movie and of course Julia Roberts is the best actress and the others in the cast were superior...and there was Marian Seldes as the headmaster of the all girls Wellesly college! I've seen this picture a few times and it is very enjoyable...Julia plays the Art History teacher who tells the girls that there's more to life than waiting on your husbands hand and foot..this was back in the fifties and traditions were very important..but of course the traditions were only for show as husbands were cheating and women were right there to welcome them....

now two of the gals at the school were Kirsten Dunst who played the school reporter and Maggie Gyllenhaal who played the wild rebel....Kristen called Julia the teacher subversive and secretly admired Maggie for her independence but was always criticizing her for her promiscous ways...Maggie knew that Kirsten's hubby was cheating on her..it was confirmed when Maggie saw him in New York with another woman...and Kirsten was still holding on to the family image her manipulative mother was trying to sell her...but Kirsten was soon becoming aware of her husband's disregard and there was one scene in the movie that just killed me..near the end of the film when the girls were talking in a bedroom, Kirsten confronts Maggie and calls her a whore, and starts screaming at her, but really she's crying because her own situation is breaking her heart..so she's dumping on Maggie..and Kirsten starts hitting Maggie but Maggie just embraces her after Kirsten breaks down in her arms...now I didn't explain it very well, but that scene was riveting and made me fall in love with Kirsten Dunst...I know she's had some idiot stalking her..let me know who it is and I'll take care of him..and I heard Kirsten wants some things she doesn't have...

now I know that nothing will become of my pathetic little crush on a supremely talented Hollywood actress.....and I know she will never read this blog...but I can dream can't I?

non profits gone wild!

well I saw a story in the Independent glamor rag about litter over on the Channel Islands...the Nature Con and Parks Service are killing all the non-native stuff to attract non- native tourists and now the tourists are littering up the islands...beer cans, cigarette butts, plastic and other goodies for all the native birds and little foxes to enjoy!

the National Parks Service conferred landmark status to the Steedman Estate..that's not a bad thing....there's a non-profit foundation that oversees the place..

ok..this is interesting...it seems the News-Press is blaming Joe Armendariz's alcohol problems on Officer Kasi Beutel! I mean everytime a Team Wendy member messes up, Kasi Beutel appears in the paper as some twisted counterpoint..

so the situation is Joe and Kasi appear on the front page..uh oh, the last time Joe appeared on the front page of the News-Press was with #69 in an unrelated story...but Sunday's stories were a rather silly attempt to paint Kasi as a demon and Joe as a poor victim....either way the News-Press coverage is laughable....

the first is an old story about Peter Lance and Kasi Beutel.. Lance has still not gotten over being arrested for DUI or the drubbing he took in court about looking skinny in his tux...he brings up his series again and again and continues to smear Officer Beutel aided and abetted by the News-Press, the only media outlet in town corrupt enough to keep printing this nonsense... but things get confusing.. is the Attorney General's office is looking to pin a contempt charge on Beutel on behalf of the DMV as the News-Press suggests...Lance is still on the hook for his DUI arrest and may lose his license, so why wouldn't Kasi Beutel want to testify at a DMV hearing? maybe it's because they once said they don't need her to testify because they were satisfied with her report...and neither SBPD nor Kasi has received a subpoena.. is this more voodoo from Lance/Genis/ Steepleton..

I've covered this before that Lance was DUI no ifs ands butts as he admitted it on public TV
but the News-Press story doesn't make any sense!! why is the state's attorney general involved in this: because of Lance's hunger for headlines?? it appears the new attorney general got duped and messed up.... shame on you Kamila!!!

now, did Genis and Lance go to the DMV to initiate this latest motion? did the DMV hearing administrator ask them why they just didn't issue Beutel a new subpoena? Did they insist that they wanted to do it this way, presumably so they could have their headline just like the one Lance created with the State Board of Insurance investigation. It took them about 20 minutes to investigate that and determine it was false but Lance got his headline regardless of the truth.

unless there's a smoking gun somewhere I missed, the issue will go forward and Lance will lose his license as he should....but the state DA needs to get her facts straight since she came into the case at the eleventh hour...and when they clear it all up, the News-Press will issue a retraction..NOT!!! ... I think the News-Press should offer Kasi Beutel her own column to rebut all the crap that Scott/Lance write about her!!

but sometimes the yellow press is the quickest way guys like Lance and Genis have to get attention..and what does all this have to do with a tennis academy in Ojai, a hothead Hollywood producer, and teenage girls?

Genis, who didn’t know the details of the case, was confronted by a prosecutor and talked to by the judge. Genis said a photo wasn’t taken because his phone’s battery was dying.
After the hearing, he complained the number of prosecutors in the gallery constituted intimidation.
“What they were doing was clearly an unveiled attempt to intimidate Judge Young,” he said. “The fact that they were upset, reinforces, in my mind, they know what they did was wrong.”
Chief Assistant District Attorney James Ellison said he disagreed with Genis’ characterization and said he did not think there was any intent to intimidate anyone in the criminal justice system. He said the prosecutors were there to show support to a fellow prosecutor.

the only reason Kasi Beutel was on the News-Press front page was Genis/Lance/Steepleton/WendyNipper/Kasich wanted it there to imply something sinister ...HEADLINES...it's outrageous!!!

both stories on the front page were written by Scott Steepleton of course and we hear about Joe and his continual abuse of alcohol denial phase...how he is struggling with alcohol and keeps accepting responsibility everytime he crashes his car drunk...accepting responsibility means fixing the problem, not making up excusees why you can't...or everytime you get caught courtesy of the taxpayers...

it's called will power and character....as he says, he hasn't received one email asking him to step down...this is the ultimate statement in his denial and another excuse not to accept responsibility and step down...well, my drinking buddies still love me!!

Steepleton writes that Joe cries at the end, tears streaming down his face and says he misses his mom...the dude is 44 years old!! my mom died when I was 7.. I got over it and think of her daily..but never used her as an excuse to get drunk and drive...this story was just too sappy for words..and not a word about #69! I think the only people who know about Joe and #69 is you and me!!

we had joy, we had fun..

and the stars on the beach were just starfish out of reach??

but what got me started on this was a search for a Levin Swedish made guitar and it took me to the Coachmen who I'd never heard of...and they used a Levin 12 string on "Season's in the Sun"..a song made famous by Terry Jacks...it was an ok song I thought but the Coachmen really did a nice version..and then I learn Dan Fogelberg was an early member at the tender age of 16...and Rod McKuen wrote it..so now I can't stop singing it..we had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun..and so on..

it's Saturday and it looks like rain so I went to the beach and the islands were beautiful...very clean view and even little Anacapa was visible...the Islands of Death were mismanaged by the Nature Con and Parks Service...they got alot of nerve telling me what nature should and shouldn't be...nature just is and soon they will learn their lesson...you see, a group called "Pheasants Forever" has honored me with a certificate of appreciation from the black President for wildlife habitat conservation..

so the shops on Santa Claus Lane are thriving it seems..so that's good..the BBQ place looks cool...the surf shop was having a wetsuit sale...did you know that Santa Claus Lance used to be a lima bean field......long live coastal agriculture!!

god I love trees..they filter the sun, provide places for wild winged creatures to hang out, and sometimes they even beat people up!!

so naturally I was concerned with the plan to trim and cut trees on Ortega Hill...I always love going up and down this hill and seeing the eucalyptus trees...as a matter of fact I went there a few days ago and saw some butterflies flitting around through the branches...contrary to the native only cultists, Monarchs, owls and hawks prefer eucalyptus trees for many reasons..I like 'em because they smell good and keep fleas and ticks away and on your dogs where they belong...

so I called Udy Loza the county guy in charge of the tree maintenance for some clarity and closure...

he said four eucs will be removed and five will be trimmed..the reason for the removal is root rot and road liability....there's about 40 eucs left so I was satisfied...I'm all for tree maintenance to help preserve these and other beauties..unfortunately too many times maintenance is deferred so clear cuts happen which benefit nobody....

so the nature of Ortega Hill will be pretty much the same (nature..get it?) and the butterflies will be back and I will be back to watch them and hike down that little trail to the hollow...and that's good unless I meet a trail gnome killing thistle or fennel, then we got a whole nother set of problems....you think drunks look bad after they get beat up, wait'll you see a trail gnome after I'm through with him....

and I like a nice rutty trail that hasn't been messed with...pretty soon they will pave the trails with cement and have handicap access...

goddam handicapped people...why are they so special...if they can't hike or get up the stairs, then they need to try harder and not be so lazy....and that goes for you blind gay drunk folks too!!

awright..I saw some things yesterday that were both dirty and sweet, and disturbed and tickled me

in the local papers..in the News-Press..it seems that Wendy's Young Miss America Foundation had some old coot for a speaker recently..Phyllis Schafly is an ultra conservative who is warbling an old song by conservatives: colleges are indoctrinating students...well that's partly true..if you go to a rightwing Christian college, you will work at FOXNEWS..but I think Phyllis is talking about public schools...anything that teaches other than conservative ideals is indoctrination to Phyllis...and her clones Michele Bachman and Ann Coulter...both mastubatory material for Dick Cheney and the FOXNEWS guys....

all these gals were against the ERA..women's lib because they were afraid it would kill the American family image of one dad, one mom and a few kids living in a loving home....until dad molests the daughter, or hits the son, or drinks and abuses the wife..and on and on...in other words, she lives in a fantasy world and always has which is why she endorsed Michele for president!!

Phyllis's real problem is she never had a good fuck in her life..and now she's 87...so it's too late..but I find her as inspirational as a wet noodle...

next we have a front page story in the Daily Sound about coyotes..beware of coyotes..they're everywhere and are gonna kill your cats dogs and children....of course, that's nonsense and if you see a coyote it's a blessing..they are resourceful beautiful wild canines..the wild part is what scares people...but healthy ecosytems demand a healthy population of coyotes.....so don't fear them or kill them because time and again they have proven to be smarter than man...they just doubledown on the breeding when the population diminishes..they are awesome creatures and will leave you alone..so leave them alone or I'll cut your children's heads off..and I mean it!!

then the Unity Shoppe Telethon was on KEYT and it was a pared down version due to the economy...it's always due to the economy....what's wrong with the economy?? Anyway, they showed some old footage of the telethon back when it was happenin'...Dave Mason played and Karla Bonoff did a duet with Christopher Cross and then Kenny Loggins and Paula Lopez sang a Christmas ditty..the clip was from the 1980s and they looked like a couple of poodle-haired fluffymuffywuffies...Kenny, you turned a whole generation into a bunch of pussies!!

some things never change...it was cute..some of these concerts from the 1980s will never happen again..and you can thank Mother Nature for aging these hipsters!!

while DUI attorney Darryl Genis is working at a fever pitch to blame the cops for his clients arrests, Santa Barbara is starting to resemble one big holding tank for drunks and drug abusers...pretty soon we're gonna have a TV Station devoted to DUI...

so I woke up at 4:30 this morning to red lights flashing in my bedroom...I got up and not a soul was stirring, not even a mouse...I looked outside and didn't see Santa or a sleigh, but I did see across the highway by the Salt Marsh a bunch of cop cars and fire engines lined up like reindeer on the side of the road...

it was dark so I couldn't see much, then they flashed a bright utility light in the ditch and I saw a broken 45MPH sign, and some paramedics pulling a person on a gurney..the person was covered up with a sheet...the person appeared to be dead....then everything was dark again and only one cop and a tow truck there..I saw the crashed car with my binoculars..it was facing the wrong way and totaled..
I bet it the crash was alcohol related... I've seen a few on the highway before and they weren't pretty....blood and guts...

and there was more reporting about Genis and the two mystery girls.... there was a story in the the News-Press written by Angel Pacheco that was remarkably similar to the story in the Daily Sound by Nick C Tonkin...both said the same thing: Late Thursday night, deputy chief Mannix said that the SBPD got a phone call from attorney Martin Cohn, claiming to represent the woman Officer Tudor allegedly messaged on Facebook. Cohn reportedly told police that Genis did not have authority to speak on the woman’s behalf and that she is “terribly embarrassed” by Genis’ comments. Johnny Rotten Hunter made some glaring mistakes at the SB council meeting Tuesday..both he and Genis said the dash cam tape was "doctored" by the SBPD because they had a slow motion and real time version with added captions to explain police procedures...the slow-mo clearly shows Tudor administering palm strikes to DeNunzio....Johnny Rotten claims Tudor was pummeling Tony which is a lie... doctored means "to falsify" which the cops certainly didn't do to the tape!

and the dash-cam is so damaging againt his client, DUI lawyer Darryl Genis has found some mystery women who have alleged they were abused by Officer Tudor... here we go again..this is what Lance did to pad his fantasy case against Kasi Beutel....he got a bunch of non-credible witnesses to testify at his hearing....a bogus handwriting expert with ethics issues and some students who were busted for drinking vodka and driving mommy's car ....the first two kids testified WITHOUT LAWYERS and got eaten alive...

all this appears to be retaliation by the Lance and Genis crew against the police dept and it is indeed getting psycho...the DUI cops bust many people for DUI so getting a few to complain about Tudor should be easy! I've heard it before from drunk drivers blaming the cops and pink elephants...it's a food fight between the drunks and the cops

Genis is trying to get some mileage in the press and should be disbarred....this time he will get burned I do believe...the Lance case was dismissed not becasue Lance was innocent, but because the judge said he found no probable cause to pull over DUI Lance but plenty of reasonable suspicion...

with DeNunzio, if all the allegations against him are true, the previous DUI, the suspended license, the wobbly driving, the current DUI, the domestic violence, etc, then he will be in prison..of course Darryl Genis will try to paint Tudor as a monster to deflect attention away from DeNutzio...it's his MO

DUI suspected....

Embattled Carpinteria councilman Joe Armendariz was suspected of DUI after crashing his car at night on southbound Highway 101, just before the Santa Claus Lane exit and south of Padaro Lane...Joe has crashed his vehicle before while driving intoxicated in Montecito and this latest lapse of judgement may land him in jail or cause him to lose his license regardless of how nice a guy he is...his political career on the Carpinteria city council may also be over..

Armendariz has spent much of his time in non-profits funded by dirty old men like Brooks Firestone and other ultra conservatives...Brooks makes a fine brew I've heard...Joe has often joined News-Press wanker pot house enabler and foreclosure expert Lanny Ebenstein in trying to demonize public workers because of the salaries they make....gee, Joe you should have gotten a real government job like being a fireman and added some structure to your life and an appreciation for the working class, then you wouldn't keep breaking the law and endangering your fellow Carpinterians with your recklessness...

After Joe's first DUI conviction, he quickly joined the board of directors at nonprofit Zona Seca, the alcohol treatment facility...looks like they promoted him without treating him!! I'll be looking into the nonprofit Zona Seca later...

Joe has also serves as Director of the Santa Barbara County Taxpayer Association, a shady non-profit that has been exposed on this blog previously...I mean, nobody listens to them anymore!!

While we wish Councilman Armendariz a speedy recovery and are glad he didn't kill anybody, we must insist the Carp council demand he resign..we can't have a chronic drinker and lawbreaker making city policy...the City of Carpinteria will lose credibility unless they act swiftly and decisively...

when I got the message asking me if I'd like to do a ridealong with a SB cop, my first reaction was fear..if it's true what they say about Santa Barbara cops, then I could wind up lying on a deserted roadside with a bullet in my head....

on the other hand, if it's not true what they say, then I might get some insight into what a cop does while on patrol... when I hear Lanny Ebenstein claim that Mike Self "almost won" the recent city council election or Mike Self claim in her last moments as a bumbling councilmember that "some people complain about low morale in the SBPD" then I get an itchy trigger finger...Mike needs to check things out herself...

people ALWAYS complain about morale somewhere...it's not a revelation and is quite common, esp if you're an unsatisfied person who blames others all the time...it's basic psychology folks..it's a defense mechanism....

but still, all those guns and nightsticks and handcuffs are pretty scary.....plus, if anyone I know sees me in a police car they may think I'm being arrested and then there goes my reputation such as it is...but I could dig a ride in a Highland Green 1968 Mustang GT 390 Fastback ..do the cops have one of those???

Lance's voice was shaky and defensive and he was talking rapid-fire...obviously these guys don't know how the city government works...it was a lot of huffing and puffing...saying that the News-Press is an honest and credible business! the cops ruined his reputation.. hahahah..Pete...very funny...

trying to pick a fight with Mayor Schneider... it was a classic...not everything revolves around you pipsqueak..then Lance accuses Helene of stalling because the Chief's report to the council happened at about 6:00 PM..he claimed the mayor was wishing the media like KEYT would go just go away...ah, Peter, you dumbasss, the city council meetings are all filmed live and uncensored on gov't TV, Channel 18....

and then John Hunter spoke..John was in the Noozhawk yuppie muppie story and witnessed "the most horrible beatdown" he's ever seen...apparently John spends very little time in the real world....remember John we beat the shit outta Iraqi civilians but did you squeak??

he said he wondered what the council felt about Denunzio's DUI stop...he cried about a hypothetical situation: what if his 16 year old son was pulled over by a SB cop...well, that's what cops do!!

now when I was speaking with DUI attorney Darryl Genis outside the police station he mentioned something that I've heard before..on the Mr. Wimpy show..he said that while he was for getting heavily impaired drivers off the road he was less concerned about people who've had a few drinks drinving...he indicated that drivers using cell phones, moms attending to kids while driving are just as dangerous as DUI....Mr. Wimpy said the same thing while interviewing Lance and also said driving with 0.2 BAC is perfectly ok....

next we have the Sunday guestatorial by Terry Tyler about the Bill of Rights and stopping motorists..the Constitution and the Bible are the two most misinterpreted writings ever published..people use them to make excuses for their own failings and prejudices....if God says it's ok to hate gays, then I can!! just pure silliness but there's lots of money that goes to these churches...and that's how you chip away at the deficits..TAX THESE CHURCHES, CHARITES, and NON-PROFITS!!

now, the News-Press as usuual is on the wrong side of the road...Terry repeats the excuse that talking on cell phones while driving is just as dangerous as DUI...this argument is nonsense..booze is a drug that impairs judgement..cell phones and children aren't drugs..if a bee flies in your face while you're driving, that's dangerous too..should we kill all bees? this is how low the News-Press has sunk: defending drunk drivers....

Tyler says there was no probable cause to pull over DeNunzio...that everyone in SB runs stops signs and makes unsafe lane changes!! well the cops can't be everywhere and Terry is just shilling for Nipper and Wendy who are pro-booze and drugs....just look at their kids!!

DeNunzio is an adult who had no front license plate, was driving erratically, was DUI, had a suspended license for a previous DUI...if that's not probable cause, then I don't know what is....
driving is a privilege not a right....if you don't have the personal responsibility to operate a vehicle sober, then we pay the cops to get you off the road....and if I see you driving erratically, I'll call 911 and try to get a cop to you in time to bust your ass, motherfucker!

now a funny thing happened while I was out driving in the footlhills and of course I didn't have my trusty camera with me...

a red car in front of me was driving erratically...hitting the brakes, swerving and driving like a maniac..slow and fast....I couldn't believe it and kept raising my hands at the driver...
it was a girl driving and an old guy in the passenger seat wearing sombrero.. I followed them for two miles along 192 and two miles back to my place because they were in front of me the whole time....and I had to hit my brakes when she kept flaking out!! I swear she'd go from 40mph down to about 10 mph on state highway!!! then she'd speed up again...

I needed a dash cam and I think I'll get one..but anyway I saw a cop going the other direction and waved at him from my car...I pulled into my place and he turned around and followed.. I told him about the driver who had just pulled into Kim's Market....so the cop waited until the red car left Kim's and then pulled him over.... I went out before that and saw the car exit..this time the old guy was driving and the teen who looked about 13 was in the passenger seat..so what happened was the teen was driving while I followed, and the guy drove afterwards when they saw the cop....I went out later and they were gone..the cop and the red car....
I guess the old dude was letting his unlicensed daughter or granddaughter drive in the foothills which is pretty stupid since she doesn't know how....

what does this prove..that the cop had probable cause (my citizen complaint) to pull over the car and check it out....sure because I'm a credible witness...but since the old guy was driving when they left Kim's Market, the cop let them go...

now, if I were a cop driving on Foothill Rd, I would've have pulled them over because I had what? probable cause...and the love of Jesus in my pretty green eyes....but since I'm not a cop, all I can do is keep an eye out for stupid drivers...and I will...

and to all you dudes wearing sombreros letting 13 year old girls drive your red Ford Pintos....no bueno amigos!!!

now I happen to think that Chief Cam Sanchez made a brilliant tactical move when he held a press conference at police headquarters..the first thing you notice when you walk in is a nice picture of Officer Kasi Beutel on the wall..this sends a subliminal message to civilians that the SBPD takes DUI enforcement seriously...secondly, Sanchez was wearing an electro-blue red tie in sharp contrast the Darryl Genis, who was wearing an undertaker-gray tie..and who wears bright yellowy ties in court to highlight the yellow lice-ridden journalism at the News-Press...

at the end of the press conference, Cam had the press eating out of his hand like baby kangaroos!

that was a good move and while I've been a critic of Cam, he seems to be acting like a chief again...more out front stuff and media communication will help reduce the hysteria from media outlets like the News-Press and Noozhawk..and believe me, the folks who work for government have free speech rights, too..so talk it up folks!!

some folks in Santa Barbara think that DUI is a constitutional right...it isn't..and I'll explore that later, unless something happens....

you see, while I attend these court house events and hearings, I 've been surveying the grounds...I feel that soon we may have a situation on our hands and I want to be prepared....we've had the Tea Party, the Occupy folks and next we may have the "Occupy the Bottle" people out in force...hurling all over the sidewalks, stumbling down State Street, peeing in the planters....anyone who smokes and drinks alot simply has unattended oral fixations...guys, you may be gay...girls you may drink and smoke because of some swinging dick that got away....well whatever the issue, you're a bunch of sick puppies...

but in the event of war between the likes of them and me, I want to be positioned at an advantage and I found a good place..the court house is set up like a fortress and soldiers of good fortune like me can be stationed around the perimeter and upstairs to hold off any attack of the booze suckers..

ok so I decide to go into Santa Barbara to check out the Chief's press conference....I get to the police station and sit down outside on the tile thingie that holds in the flower bed...then I go inside and ask where the press conference is going to be held..the gal at the front desk says downstairs..I ask her how do I get there..she says I need a press pass..I tell her I'm a blogger and she laughs and sneers at me...so I walk away..I guess that's why they call it press conference....I'll get a press pass somehow for future events...I mean how hard can it be if Scott's got one!!

so I go back outside and sit down again, same place

I see Monica Quintero from KSBY crossing the street, carrying her own gear...she flashes a smile at me...shit, I shoulda gone in with her!!
then the chick from KEYT arrived with a driver in a little white car....Beth looks better in person than on TV...

but since I can't go in, I figure there's nothing for me here so I head for my truck and then Darryl Genis walks by.."Good Morning" he says to me..."Nice tie" to him I say..it was toned down from past court apppearances..a greyish hue..

so I go back towards the police station and sit down thinking I'll see some other famous folks....then Darryl comes walking out of said police station and says they won't let him into the press conference either! hey we have something in common today, me and Darryl...we're both unwanted step children without press credentials!!

so he stops and talks awhile and we discuss drunk drivers...I figure he knows who I am so I ask him to smile for a picture because you guys need to improve your images! then he says he was wearing the low key tie just for me...but then I look down and noticed his shoes were on backwards!! what a joker this guy is!!

so we go back and forth....I say keep the drunks off the road he says he agrees but one beer does not a drunk make...then I say one beer can impair your judgement and he says no..then I point to the black Escalade behind us and say only a fool would get behind the wheel after drinking..then I ask why he's defending DeNunzio and got some legaleze explanation..I said we wouldn't be here if Tony made better choices..and he just kinda smiled...I suppose he's just doing his job and out of the court room was a nice enough guy....reminded me of Larry Mundello.....

then I see Scott from the News-Press limp up, stop in front of the police station and stare at us....Darryl ignores him...then Scott, who looks upset, raises his voice: Darryl, can I talk to you?
Darryl says, "yeah, I'll be there in awhile" and we continued to jaw a bit and shook hands afterward...

then Scott looked hurt like he was jealous that Darryl preferred to talk to me instead of him..he started turning red in the face and I looked down again and noticed Scott was wearing high heels!!
then he starts crying and Darryl says he better go and walks over to Scott..then Scott pouts a little and grabs Darryl's hand and does an interview on tape with him....

so I just laughed at the wind and left to wash my truck by the beach....

hey remember Gary Collins? the famous drunk actor/Miss America host from Montecito who got busted in 2009... and in Mississippi for the same thing....

Formerly famous talk show host Gary Collins has been arrested on suspicion of DUI. And it ain't the first time. TMZ reports that Collins was busted on suspicion of DUI at the relatively early hour of 9:16 p.m. last night. The CHP stopped him just south of Montecito. An early Super Bowl pre-party, perhaps? Collins reportedly refused a field sobriety test but was subsequently given a blood alcohol test. The former host of "Hour Magazine" and "The Home Show" was escorted to the Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was subsequently booked, then released. And probably embarrassed. TMZ says Collins pled no contest to DUI about a year ago in an accident that caused the death of the other driver.
Collins wasn't prosecuted for manslaughter because the other driver was found to have caused the crash by making an illegal left. But Collins was admittedly drunk. And he is still on four-year probation.
This means that if he was caught driving drunk again, he'll probably have to serve some jailhouse rock time.

hey, how about I put three-peat Tony DeNutzio on trial in the media...I'll be the Judge: "Mr. Genis go home and change your tie!" "Mr DeNutzio, you CAN NOT drink alcohol in the court room..put that Bud away!!" geez do all these DUI guys have some NASCAR blood in them? the descendents of hillbillies and moonshiners??

so we know that Tone was busted by a Santa Barbara police officer and then the scuffle in the Gelson's parking lot created a stir among stoners and rightwingers....some people were watching the evening's events after exiting from Harry's Plaza Cafe...now, Joe's Cafe says it has the stiffest drinks in town, but what about Harry's drinks..I hear they are strong...like mixing vodka and sugar together will make your head explode ... you might as well drink Drano for a buzz!
...so anyway the rightwing media forgot to interview all the witnesses and twisted the story in favor of the NASCAR hillbillies....

but Tony's got some issues..the domestic violence issue, the probation issue, the driving on a suspended license issue, the DUI issue..and yet he pleads "not guilty"....so we are to presume he's innocent? well, I presumed that he was innocent before I read all the accounts in the media, so now I think he's guilty...

so the DA will file DUI charges against DeNunzio but they should also get the yuppie couple forinterfering with an officer performing his duties....sometimes the officers have to use force...

Tudor, the officer involved, was not charged, should not be charged, will not be charged and I'm sure will continue to patrol... do his job....and show up in court when Tony wastes tax dollars with his hearings.....

his pitiful little hearings about his useless pitiful little life...looking at jail time...but where we gonna put him??

I was going to check out Tony Denunzio hearing on Tuesday but instead I installed a new oven range hood...it took all morning because it was a pain in the ass, but after I finished, I was pleased...sometimes you have to be a handyman instead of a candyman like Herman! and now that I have a new range hood, I baked some cookies for Tony!!

I wonder why cops go to work equipped with guns, handcuffs, tasers, batons, radios....you think maybe it's a dangerous job??

it seems Peter Lance has a history of investigating people for the most insignificant things...and writing books about them...and blowing issues way out of proportion to reality....
remember back when "Survivor" debuted...everyone was watching as Richard Hatch plotted and schemed back-stabbed and finally won the game..

well another contestant, a lawyer named Stacy Stillman, claimed she was booted off the island illegally and sued CBS and Mark Burnett, the executive producer for trying to influence the other contestants....

Corporate trainer Richard Hatch won the contest's first $1 million prize, and CBS is broadcasting the second "Survivor" series, set in the Australian Outback.

In court papers filed in San Francisco, CBS lawyers said Stillman had "explicit and repeated warnings" that she was barred from filing the lawsuit anywhere but Los Angeles.
"Although the $1,000,000 grand prize on 'Survivor' eluded her, Stillman devised a plan to seek an even bigger bonanza by promoting herself, while simultaneously attacking the show and its producers, in a coast-to-coast publicity campaign," the motion to transfer the case states.

Millions of people tuned in to see the outcome of CBS' reality show, Survivor, which was won by a Machiavellian schemer named Richard Hatch. While the rest of America spent the summer of 2000 mesmerized by Rich's antics, Hatch spent the summer being interviewed exhaustively by five time Emmy award-winning investigative reporter and bestselling author Peter Lance.

Lance was slated to ghostwrite the tell-all book for which St. Martin's Press was willing to pay $500,000. But the book deal fell apart at the last minute because Hatch failed to disclose the full extent of the Draconian contract he had signed with CBS, although Hatch had known for days what the so-called "permission letter" really said: CBS demanded the right to edit the book line by line, and to delete anything it didn't like. Devastated by the depth of the lies he had been told, Lance began to dig a little deeper into the background of Hatch and began interviewing people about what really happened on the Island. As the former Chief Investigative Correspondent for ABC News, Lance was well-qualified for the task. What he found shocked him: evidence that might indicate that the outcome of Survivor may have been manipulated by CBS.

Otherwise, a waste of time.

It is hard to judge the merits of a book in which typographical errors abound on each page. Worse, the author doesn't know the difference between "elude" and "allude", nor "effect" and "affect." His punctuation is bizarre. Sentence fragments abound.

Clearly, the traditional rules of prime time television are changing by the week.
Suddenly, members of the K Mart set are jockeying for a shot at stardom along side professional actors. People who eat at Denny’s are packing suitcases full of head shots and moving West to Tinseltown. In the feeding frenzy for ratings and less expensive programming, the networks are "casting" these common folk, "shooting" them and "editing" them like they were characters in a prime time drama. This without the safety nets that protect traditional performers under the hard-earned collective bargaining agreements of Guilds like SAG and AFTRA. What’s worse, in the end, the life rights of these newly minted "celebrities" are being controlled in a way no traditional "actor" would stand for.

Stillman sued the Viacom Inc. network in February, alleging that "Survivor" executive producer, Mark Burnett, manipulated the outcome of the series by persuading two other contestants to vote against her on the ninth day of the contest.
CBS countered with its own lawsuit, charging that Stillman, a 28-year-old corporate lawyer, violated a confidentiality agreement that she signed before joining the show. CBS lawyers also presented signed declarations from six of the eight "Tagi" teammates, some of whom slammed Stillman as being "smarmy," "sarcastic" and "bossy."

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ralph W. Dau ruled on Thursday that CBS presented sufficient evidence to show that Stillman might have acted with malice against the producers of the hit television show.
The judge denied Stillman's request to dismiss CBS' defamation and breach of contract lawsuit.
Stillman "has put forward no admissible evidence to support her manipulation claim," Dau wrote in his 12-page ruling.

The judge also cited statements made by Stillman during a "Good Morning America" interview with Diane Sawyer in February. In addition, CBS produced a July 26, 2000, e-mail that Stillman allegedly sent to her former teammates jokingly encouraging them to band together to "extort" $1 million from CBS before appearing in a reunion show.

"Let's show these execs what it's like to be the target of an alliance. Ha ha," Stillman wrote in an e-mail apparently sent to Richard Hatch, the winner of the first "Survivor" contest.

and here we have the crux of Lance's writing career..books deals that fall through, and things that people "might" have done....and what "may" have happened..those two words were ever-present in the long News-Press series about his own DUI arrest...the arresting officer may have done this and might have done that..it's a writing style that strives to cast doubt on the person he has a vendetta against.... exhaustive details, mostly gossip, are red meat for the folks who crave it...

but it seems there's always a rational explanation just below the surface.....unless you're a wannabe investigative reporter

well... I guess I'll focus on Tony Denunzio since his first hearing on Monday is for probation violation in room SB 8..haven't been to that room before..on Tues he's back before Judge Hill who will probably let him go free...the only probable cause that Judge Hill seems to accept is if you kill someone while DUI!! If you think you made the right decision Judge, think again!!

but I'd like to cop a plea, too: please start these hearings around 10:00 AM so it's more convenient for me...thank you!!
