it's a put-on
as the phony Carp Growers (who gave $16000 to Das Williams) keep insisting how wonderful they are and no pesticides, too...the guy who was busted has a pot farm in Carp across from Girl's Inc and his family on the Carp Growers Board!!
a vote for Laura Capps will stop this crap!!!
FARMERS. NEIGHBORS. STEWARDS.
'The mission of CARP Growers is to foster a positive relationship with the community of Carpinteria by promoting best practices among cannabis growers.' LOL!!
🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
update from the CARP Growers-from the Coastal View:
Brand and his farm had been members of the Carpinteria Association of Responsible Producers (CARP Growers). On learning of the citation and seizures, the CARP Growers Board of Directors said in a statement, “Barry Brand has withdrawn membership pending the results of the investigation into irregularities with his licensed operations. CARP was formed predicated on compliance and best practices; the foundation of our membership requirements are to be current and compliant with all state and county rules. The investigation is evidence that the state track and trace system is working as designed. That irregularities that would have gone unnoticed in a prohibition or pre-regulation environment are now noticed and followed up on is exactly what is supposed to happen.” ROFLMAO!!
from the Sheriff's Office:
Through the investigation, detectives discover off-book (black market) marijuana sales associated with the farm. During the warrant service, detectives found a small volatile extrication lab along with extracted oil – both of which are outside of the grower’s license. Approximately 20 pounds of illegally stored cannabis was seized as well as over 1,000 pounds of cannabis crude.
The owner, Barry Brand, was issued a citation for illegal possession of marijuana for sales (misdemeanor) and the investigation is ongoing.
What is Cannabis Crude Oil (CCO)?
Why drug cartels are smuggling cannabis crude oil over the border to the US... cannabis oil is a high potent concentrate that will get you 5 to 10 times higher than cannabis

Abraham, Martin and John
anybody here seen my old friend...
Martin Luther King, Jr. was the great civil rights leader and today we honor him..he was assassinated and now we've exported our murderous ways by killing some military guy in Iran..but when a member of the Saudi army killed three soldiers in Florida recently, we dint assassinate anybody in Saudi Arabia for the terror attack..
and now we got the Space Force which should solve everything
'The newly created U.S. Space Force unveiled its utility uniform nametapes on Twitter on Friday and prompted many people to ask the same mocking question.
Namely, why the woodland camouflage pattern? camo in space??
The only explanation I have is that The Space Force will be invading the forest moon of Endor.'
laugh and the whole world laughs with you..
or in this case, at you

She Said She Said
I know what it's like to be dead
Meagan, the lily-white chick on the Santa Barbara City Council said on KEYT now there's lotsa people of color on the council..translation: these Mexicans make me uncomfortable
"people of color" is a racist term....just sayin' honey
City Councilwoman Meagan Harmon said Rowse was a mentor to her on the City Council.
and then we got Randy Rowse in a Noozwack interview claiming he doesn't get unions..Randy's not as smart as I thought he was as he is termed out
"Now that the party and the employee unions have become one, basically, all over California, but intensely here in town, it's a tough influence, the strangest quid pro I think I have ever seen," Rowse said. "I could take $10,000 from you as a head of a union and then be elected and turn around and negotiate your salary two weeks later. I've never understood why that works out."
well Randy let me explain: if Wendy gives you $10000 you'll crawl up her ass...the unions support candidates who are PRO LABOR!!! they bargain collectively..ie, they pool the resources of the pro-union employees...every three or four years, the City and the union for city employees negotiate a contract...if approved, the council votes on it..there's no quid pro quo but we want to be sure the cops, firefighters, water treatment professionals get good benefits..
for years, conservatives have been trying to raid the pension funds of public workers, nurses and teachers..Arnold tried it, Pete Wilson tried it but they failed..
so it all comes down to negotiation..no conspiracy, no evil unions, just people trying to work for a living, raise families and retire without being subjected to the whims of capricious dictators
conservative council members need to see the Gestalt of all situations and stop pissing on the public workers
or you could always privatize those functions
ha ha

Poor Poor Pitiful Me
poor poor pitiful me
geez, I miss Scott Steepleton!!
well here's the latest from the new, improved team at the News-Press (and me):
In moments of chaos, clarity can be found. (but not here)
And in tough moments, remaining positive can help find needed answers. (so we've heard)
Undoubtedly, this week has been a tough one for us at the Santa Barbara News-Press. (boo hoo)
We pride ourselves on superior customer service, delivering our product to thousands each day — providing a predictable, (boring) consistent experience for all of Santa Barbara County.
This week, we have failed in that quest with many of you.
And we sincerely apologize for that. (we suck)
As with any business, change happens and even the best-laid plans can give way to unexpected turbulence — and this has been one rocky ride. (this wouldn't happen in a union shop)
Thankfully, after 165 years integrated in this community, we understand the emotional quotient that comes with our unfortunate interruption — it leaves a gaping hole where information usually takes up residence. (misinformation)
And when there is no solution to fill that void, it causes frustration.
And you have every right to be frustrated — we are, too. (with ourselves)
One longtime reader wrote:
“Reading the newspaper is part of my ‘routine’ that gets my brain functioning in the morning (I can’t drink coffee!). Reading the news and doing all the puzzles kick-starts my thinking process for the day.”
Producing the paper every day is our stimulant, too (plus pot and booze) with the smells of newsprint, (and cannabis..gee no wonder you're not getting a paper!) the cackle of emergency radio scanners and the everyday connection with our readers, even when the news isn’t so good for us.
This is why we are working diligently to respond to every subscriber that has reached out via phone or email. As you can expect, both have been a bit busier than normal, so it is taking longer than any of us like — but we are making significant progress.
In parallel, we are working with our new delivery service to identify the gaps in the process, and fixing them on an individual basis. It’s a complex system, but one that we are working to simplify, as the end product is quite straight forward — we must deliver what we promise to each of you.
As a management team, we hold ourselves personally responsible (I just hope Wendy doesn't) for making sure our readers are always taken care of — albeit with a renewed commitment to local news, working hand-in-hand with community partners or being a watchdog (lapdog) when it’s necessary.
That will never change. (change is constant)
Our subscribers are why we get the distinct privilege of telling the amazing stories of this incredible county.
We never forget that, it’s a rallying cry we all abide by here.
We will get this fixed (one of these days)— and grow tremendously from it.
Sincerely,
The Santa Barbara News-Press management team

Bittersweet
sweet then bitter, bitter then sweet
Happy New Year!!
I looked for Wendy's New Year's message to her News-Press readers but only found some drivel from the new editor kid, Nick..so I'm a little concerned having heard neither hide nor hair from Wendy P McCuckoo for some time now
2019 was a pretty bittersweet year but I loved it so I am hopeful for the new year 2020...I hope God grants some wisdom to Trump so he doesn't start WW III
I hope that the Republicans can get rid of California's new laws including the healthcare mandate that forces a penalty on me if I don't buy overly-expensive healthcare, and then gives my money to some poor slob for a visit to the clinic to cure a STD...
geez, Newsom, what a slick SOB...the conservatives need to put some good candidates in there, not these phony evangelicals who want to peep into your bedrooms
really the conservatives blew it..they had the presidency, controlled the House but because Trump is such an idiot, they lost control of the House....
Wendy is responsible for all these surplus dogs everywhere turning beaches into toilets...I see a pretty chick walking her five dogs on the beach, holding a stick, a coffee mug and a bag of dog shit!!! THIS IS INSANE and must stop in 2020..
normal people need to reclaim the beaches from the dog people
that will be my mandate for 2020
