so what was the scenario? investigation not over yet so speculation is easy...gambler-POS-punk-loser drives back from the casino in his Camaro after drinks and poker, crosses the double yellow line into oncoming traffic by the Cold Spring bridge, and crashes head-on, taking out the smaller car and killing the woman and her kids
and this beautiful woman was a very talented musician from Solvang with so much to give to the world..Vanessa Bley...just find her and listen..and her father Paul was a pioneer jazz pianist

This may have impacted their ability to properly maintain thousands of miles of electrical transmission lines in the area they serve.

The 2017 fires are yet another example of the broken corporate culture and habitual behavior of PG&E negligence. Instead of spending the substantial revenue it generates from its services (PG&E reported nearly $18 billion of revenue in 2016 alone) for PG&E wildfire resources, they chose to divert this money towards corporate profits for its PG&E stock shareholders, and hefty bonuses for its executives (PG&E reported nearly $1.5 billion of profit in 2016). For example, in 2007, corporate whistle-blowers found that PG&E planned to spend $5 million it had raised from residents to replace a segment of pipeline in San Bruno county that had been determined as being dangerous. In lieu of replacing the pipeline, PG&E repurposed the money, and ultimately chose to pay nearly $5 million in bonuses to PG&E executives in 2009. In 2010, as noted above, a deadly fire resulted from poorly maintained gas pipelines in San Bruno claimed lives and destroyed buildings. Doubtlessly other examples of PG&E’s mismanagement of its finances to focus entirely on corporate profit and paying its executives would exist if PG&E provided more transparency into its vast operations.

PG&E wasn't forced to invest in renewable energy.....these threats of power shut-offs are the result of mismanagement and are not the way to run a public utility
so maybe it's time for the gov't to step in and clean house

What a beautiful, cold and windy October evening under an almost-full Hunter's moon..I was watching the news earlier and according to KEYT, I should be worried about sharks at Santa Claus and Padaro beaches..and a forced power outage if the Santana winds kick up....
some doofus with a drone got a pic of a shark off Santa Claus beach and he's worried about a Conception-like disaster if swimmers start getting killed...this guy is just looking for attention because no such a thing will ever happen..you can't even compare a shark swimming to the Conception boat fire..the guy is a dummy..Chief Brody would be ashamed of him
-Swimming and surfing in an ocean filled with sharks is possible to do safely. The important thing is to use common sense when doing so. Sharks are at the top of the food chain in the ocean and must be respected...they've been here for millions of years!-

next thing I gots to be afraid of is a power outage, forced by the utility companies if the devil winds kick up...SCE and PG and E want to make sure they aren't blamed again if a fire starts in Fillmore and spreads to Santa Barbara...ok but I see no sense in shutting off my utilities just to save your corporate ass...try some preventive maintenance from a respected sub-contractor if one exists...
UPDATE: they shut the power off and still fires are raging in northern and southern California!

mostly related to drunk driving....as I've tried to warn you over the years, drinking and driving are not a good combo..oh you may sneak by a few STOP signs but the odds are in the favor of the booze killing you or someone..or some innocent soul like me
some people would rather be drunk than alive, I guess

why is it that nonprofits can't manage their money? it seems that they close down due to money issues or worse, malfeasance...
two nonprofits were in the news recently..Wounded Warrior Project and The Unity Shoppe...Wounded Warrior had issues with the former CEO using money for parties and hotels while their ads ran on FOX NEWS with Trace Adkins pleading for money for the veterans of the surplus desert wars...then people got hip to the scam so a new Wounded Warrior Project was started.. I don't trust it any more than I did the first one
and the Unity Shoppe had to close for a few months as the money ran out...years ago when Kenny Loggins started it, it may have been useful..but when they brought in Nipper for the telethons, the Unity Shoppe lost credibility..then they bought some property for millions in Santa Barbara so you can imagine the mortgage on that..
but there is a pro-pot article in the News-Press that might explain..a new cannabis shop called Coastal opening in Santa Barbara and their vision to change the world..they mention Kenny Loggins who has become a stoner

the Chumash take a gambler's money and give back to the community for PR purposes..and now the stoners will "give back to the community"
when you see those words, 🚩red flags🚩should go up because they are trying to normalize drug use and that's a poor message to send to the kids..

In addition to frustration over a marijuana growers association funding a school counseling position, parents have also expressed outrage over a decision by Carpinteria school district administrators, including the superintendent and middle school principal, to tour a local pot cultivation site and pose for a photo. (The same pot farm that followed me and harassed me for taking a picture of their facility)
the District administrators posed for the photo inside a Glasshouse Farms greenhouse while wearing the formal visitors apparel belonging to the marijuana business.
The (fat, stupid looking) administrators who posed for the photo were: Jamie Persoon, principal of Canalino Elementary; Diana Rigby, the district superintendent; Michelle Fox, principal of Aliso Elementary; Lisa O’Shea, principal of Carpinteria Middle; and Aaron LaPlante, the district technology director. In the photo, they are wearing Glasshouse Farms hats and visitors shirts.

tickets in hand I headed out the door into the beautiful windy September evening, under the Harvest moon..
the Arlington was brimming with good vibes and nice chicks..and what a concert!!
the Zombies came on..they are legends from the British Invasion and I've always loved them... first song was 'Tell Her No' and that blew everyone away
four blonde chicks are sitting in front of me and one keeps flipping her head back..consequently, her hair lands on my knee..what am I supposed to do? Tell Her No?
Brian Wilson is a genius and I don't care how old he is..I saw him at the Lobero in 2008 and was awestruck...tonight he had Al Jardine and Blondie Chapman with him, plus his stellar band...and the songs...I get goosebumps just thinking about it..
Blondie Chaplin was a trip...dressed in yellow suit, red shirt and playing a black Strat..just ripped it...original singer on 'Sail On Sailor' and they did a rousing version
but when Al Jardine introduced Brian singing 'God Only Knows', I lost it
that was the best moment of music I've ever witnessed
the crowd stood and cheered for five minutes, wiping the tears away
