Not Fade Away

I'm gonna tell ya how it's gonna be

how'd we go from date shakes to pot stores????

Melinda Burns seems to be the only real investigative journalist in town...she used to work at the News-Press before Wendy killed the paper

Robert Eringer used to be a good writer but he's back at the News-Press with voter fraud conspiracy theories for the John Bircher relics...ugh! fade away.. these people are nuts

anyway, Melinda is covering the proliferation of pot farms and dispenseries, esp in Carpinteria and when I read about the possibility of a cannabis store on Santa Claus Lane, I went crazy!!

In 1998, the first fight was to keep developers from destroying Santa Claus Lane, and now the fight is to keep the potheads out...one of the few places left for families and kids to have some beach fun without drunks and stoners bothering them

America's drug use is out of control!!

but Carpinteria still has plenty of real ag left...you can see the fields, smell the  sweet orange and lemon fragrance in the winds, and dig the avocados and sunflowers...we owe those farmers a debt of gratitude

Das Williams, Salud Carbajal and the Carp City Council are on notice..I'm tired of these pussy politicians being controlled by their drug lords..the legit businesses on SCL are against the pot store...I will not let Carp become a stoner paradise because of poor planning and management...there should never be massage parlors, liquor stores or pot dispensaries on Santa Claus Lane...these types of businesses are energy-drains, they are bad news unless you're a cockroach

to the cannabis industry who picked this location: FUCK YOU!! you little faggot stoner sons-of-bitches need to get away from Santa Claus Lane..

and get out of town

by sundown...

Think

FREEDOM! FREEDOM! FREEDOM! FREEDOM!

I saw Aretha do this song at the SB Bowl and nobody was sitting down!

I couldn't even imagine owning a slave...

"Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. On June 17, 2021, it officially became a federal holiday."

Juneteenth is also called Freedom Day and Jubilee Day...I hope you white folks will stop being such a drag, and understand this, the true meaning....and everythang

Hurray for the Red, White and Blues!!

Requiem for a Heavyweight

"Santa Claus Lane is also home to a beautiful beach, restaurants, shops, and a number of private beach homes. It is isolated from the rest of Carpinteria by the estuary and is sort of in a world of its own."

when I moved to Carp I stayed on two ranches: Rancho Monte Alegre and The Young Ranch...stayed in Olive Carey's old pink bungaloo and played her piano at night...she'd host cocktail parties with the likes of John Wayne and Robert Mitchum.. I spent two wonderful years there then went to the Young Ranch and met Playboy Centerfold Kym Herrin and Doobie bro Tom Johnston lived up there I'm told..John and June  Young owned the ranch, a Spanish Grant...

and June invented The Big Yellow House (I fondly remember the Cornbread Girls!) and Santa Claus Lane...I loved the rich history I was living but needed my own place so I bought a condo close to everything I love

so naturally I wanted to protect this place from development..I mean they were talking about filling in the marsh to build houses but the City Council at the time said NO WAY and the marsh remains, beautiful as ever

in 1998 an effort to SAVE SANTA and the Lane emerged and to a large extent, it remains a rural beach hangout with gorgeous views..a nod to simpler times...GOOD JOB!!

but development happened anyway and now they plan to turn Santa Claus Lane into a modern mecca of crosswalks, sidewalks and lights...given the Lane's popularity, some changes should be made, but the rendering I saw on Noozhawk is overkill with bells and whistles up the kazoo

oh, and the 8 million dollar DOG PATH that connects Santa Claus Lane to Carpinteria: WELCOME TO DOGPATCH

Das and Friends in the street

I guess it had to happen, these people who come here with no sense of history or place...all they wanna do is walk their dogs and smoke pot and pour more concrete...

bunch of loo-loos

thanks Das and Salud
