Garden of Eden...

if Adam hadn't bitten into Eve's apple or if Eve wasn't so damn cute..none of this stuff would be happening.. esp so close to Mother's Day...REPENT ye MOTHERFUCKERS

more non profit crooks exposed...
the Independent and EDHAT had great coverage of a story on the SB Botanical Gardens... (the News-Press basically copied their story a few days later..ha ha)_ the gist is garden volunteers are protesting the Board of Directors, who seem to be made up of ex-cons and socialites who want to turn the garden into a country club, for cutting the working staff but keeping the directors with their bloated salaries and shady pasts..how did this Santa Barbara gem get infiltated by a bunch of con artists??
and the 2007 Chairman of the Board/present vice chair....LOOK at this guy!! he's seen UFOs! he's corrupt! and the Botanic Garden elected him chairman?? and Bubba pardoned him! from the web: Symington splits his time between Phoenix and Santa Barbara, Calif., where wife Ann spends the majority of her time, serving as a deacon in the Episcopal Church and looking after her father, John Pritzlaff. Earlier this year (2007), Symington was elected chairman of the board of the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden. It's not just an honorific post: The garden is starting an expansion sure to create a community backlash. Symington the political consultant and battle-tested pol is up for the task, promising that opponents will be surprised to find the garden is no longer a silent punching bag. "Typical campaign war-room tactics," he said, describing how he plans to steer the board through the expansion.

the funny thing is the NewsPurse had a little blurb about his getting elected to the SBBG in 2007, but didn't mention anything about his corrupt past, instead they only printed the flowery stuff and that he was a professional pastry chef!
It is high time this town exposes all these greasy-rat-private-non-profit-but-really-for-profit crooks and their fat salaries..this is a good start! take back the SBBG!!
way to go, volunteers!

I'm like a bird...

doctors of death... nearly everything these people touch..dies... and now, the 5000 dead Channel Island piggies are exacting their revenge with..the swine flu epidemic! You were warned....

feral cats, bald eagles, condors, foxes, rats, pigs, shorebirds...BEWARE an unnatural predator who kills for no reason at all... MAN...or rather, cleanses the Channel Islands of "unwanted" species...where have I heard that mindset before? The Channel Islands "restoration" is a big scam, perpetrated by the Nature Conservancy and Parks Service biologists, rich people, fat people and stupid people..the latest news is that the WEBCAM bald eagle chicks have died..imagine that..a freaking webcam in an eagle's nest..how disrespectful, how intrusive, how sick.. tagging birds, captive breeding, keeping them in zoos and cages, radio collars...making a mess of things is their motto...and they have left behind a river of blood.. this is animal cruelty..pure and simple...WHERE THE FUCK IS THE HUMANE SOCIETY?? at a cocktail party with a Maccaw??
and Lois Capps, poor thing, has been duped into thinking all this harassment and forceable killing is a-ok..is forceable rape ok, too, Lois?
The restoration is the consequence of the native only cult adherence to the pseudo-science of biological nativism, a reactionary movement rooted in the psychologies of racism and xenophobia...so-called invasive species are demonized and killed...lands are poisoned and burned and taxpayers pay the price..
Russell Galipeau is the big fat Channel Islands Park Superintendent who is responsible for all this mayhem.. reportedly, he ate 500 of the 5000 pigs that were killed....he should be in jail with his other co-horts...there are plenty of Parks supporters who publish propaganda claimed the restoration is a huge success, native plants are rebounding and foxes are happy and healthy....it's all bullshit..the foxes were never endangered in the first place!!

The pigs, golden eagles, fennel, olive trees and foxes lived together in relative harmony..until a few biologists panicked...these people have big money behind them and it is nearly impossible to stop them...so spread some non -native love wherever you go....fennel, purple thistle will continue to thrive, no matter how much these nitwits try to destroy..nature has always dealt with men and women who try to control her...
now, my next step will be to contact the Dalai Lama..if he doesn't help, I'm gonna have to knock that stupid grin off his face!

Balaam’s donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road...

Mick for Ethical Animal Treatment...my new non-profit!!

here's an email I got from PETA gal Ingrid Newkirk... normally I'd dump it as spam, but you gotta admit, them there radical PETA gals is SEXY!!
Dear Mick...Dog #3017, a sweet and friendly brown hound dog with a white face, was given a number rather than a name when she arrived at the laboratory of Ohio State University (OSU) experimenter George Billman. She soon underwent invasive surgery in which an artery was constricted—killing a section of her heart tissue—and a cuff was placed around another blood vessel. Only a short time later, that cuff was used to induce a heart attack in her while she ran on a treadmill.
Two days after her second round of strenuous testing—and despite records indicating that she needed to be monitored—dog #3017 was found dead in her cage. Dog #3017 did not die alone. She was only one of more than 700 individual dogs killed in OSU's lethal experiments about "sudden cardiac death." For what purpose, you might ask, did all these dogs die—each and every one of them no different than those we may share our homes with? After 28 years of cruel experimentation on dogs, Billman has only been able to produce data from these experiments that is either already known or of extremely limited value to humans!Horrific and pointless experiments like these can be stopped, but only with your help. By making a tax-deductible donation today, you can help our work to prevent the suffering of animals like dog #3017, who right now face needless agony behind the closed doors of laboratories and other hideous places. The disturbing experiments on dogs at Ohio State University are only a small part of the cruel experiments at universities and other facilities that PETA has helped uncover. The following are a few examples of other experiments:
At Vanderbilt University, experimenters withheld water from monkeys to force them to cooperate during experiments. One monkey, named Lil' Wayne, died after seven days without anything to drink. The USDA investigation in response to PETA's complaint led to citations for multiple violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
At Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, healthy dogs and donkeys were needlessly operated on again and again and then killed. PETA's hard work put an end to the surgeries on the dogs, and we continue to pressure Ross to stop tests on all animals.
At the Oregon National Primate Research Center, monkeys pace their tiny cages ceaselessly, traumatized by imprisonment, neglect, and abuse. PETA's investigations have led to citations against the institution from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Pointless experiments on animals like these only benefit those who profit from testing on animals. But with your help today, we can save animals from the nightmare of abuse that is all too commonplace in laboratories, even ones run by prestigious universities and others operated and funded by government agencies. Your support of PETA's groundbreaking work to save the lives of animals destined to suffer and die in laboratories is already helping to bring huge change to the terrible practice of vivisection. Our research, including invaluable information collected by our undercover investigators has led to federal investigations and unprecedented fines of experimenters, who must be held accountable for their actions. Recently, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) ordered that grant money be returned from two major universities, the University of Washington and the University of Connecticut, following persistent patterns of abuse that our investigative work revealed. These incidents are the first two times in history—that we know of—that such drastic federal action was taken as a result of complaints filed by an animal welfare organization. Your donation today will help us continue to expose—and stop—needless and cruel experiments on animals like those on Dog #3017 at Ohio State and other places where animals are suffering behind locked laboratory doors. Please make as generous a gift as you can right now. We're fighting 24/7 to end vivisection wherever it occurs and to save the lives of animals doomed to a nightmarish life and death in these prisons. And our vital work to end their abuse will not stop as long as even one animal like Dog #3017 or any other suffers in a laboratory cage. Thank you for your important support. Very truly yours, Ingrid E. NewkirkPresident P.S. The government's decision to force two major universities to return grant money used to fund cruel animal tests is a significant step forward and a sign to experimenters everywhere that their gravy train can be brought to an abrupt halt. Please help us stop the terrible abuse and suffering of animals and save the lives of animals just like Dog #3017. Your donation today can help us do that. Thank you for giving what you can.
God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages. ~Jacques Deval, Afin de vivre bel et bien

of human bondage....

who's peeking out from under the stairway..everyone knows it's Dominatrix Wendy.....

if you believe the lies the NewsPress keeps repeating about government workers, then down on your knees worm!!
slavery abolished in 1865... Following its ratification by the requisite three-quarters of the states earlier in the month, the 13th Amendment is formally adopted into the U.S. Constitution, ensuring that "neither slavery nor involuntary servitude... shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
I have no doubt that the NewsPress wants to try to convince some of its slower readers that the city gov't is responsible for the financial meltdown during the Bush Administration... no doubt....forget the mismanagement and fraud by the private CEOs! .. and repeating this same innane theme in editorial opinions may cause a few subliminal messages to slip into the psyche of the less astute among its readership..they tried that when the union was picketing outside Home Improvement...telling readers it was illegal..of course it wasn't.. everybody saw through the ploy of full page ads against the union...unless, that is, you happen to be a moron..
the News-Press has certainly been dumbed down since Dr. Laura joined, blabbed and departed under a cloud of scandal...detailed right here on these very pages! Now, Wendy is trying to start a little class war pitting the middle class worker against the pseudo-uber rich..that is a stupid political move as her puppets are starting to dance on her stage...Iya, Cushman and Self.....
50 cents...
Dear Wendy....I went to buy a paper this morn, and got it for 50 cents, although the paper says it cost 75 cents..the rack moneymaker still needs to be changed..wut up??.. from CLUELESS in Seattle!
why did Wendy decide to raise the price..is it supply and demand? am I getting a new and improved product? I don't see anything new or better..the editorial dept is stuck in an anti-city loop! What am I getting extra that I should pay 75 cents for the same POS???
The Daily Sound is free still! Is the NewsPress trying to make up for lack of subscribers and advertisers? or is it just another nail in the coffin of this piece of crap paper, which I buy for entertainment (TV Guide) and to pick up dog doody in my yard and put it back in the neighbor's yard where it belongs!
..now tell me..what the phuck else is the News-Press good for??

Lone Dog...

Ode to a dead coyote...

no fanfare for him, just a roadside resting place, until the lizards, flies and turkey vultures clean him up...no walks on the beach with a pampering owner, no lap dog duties licking dirty feet; no trips to the vet for shots, peticures,no fancy feasts or gourmet dog food..no.. this canine lived by his wits..and lived well by the luxurious coat he wears...he wanders at night, sometimes alone, looking for food and enlightenment as though led by a spirit..always wary of humans and keeping a respectful distance..when one dies ten other take his place...he's intelligent and adaptive..and still we invade his territory, bring citified stupidity to the country..but he is patient and a willing teacher..to those who want to learn...

I'M a lean dog, a keen dog, a wild dog, and lone; I'm a rough dog, a tough dog, hunting on my own; I'm a bad dog, a mad dog, teasing silly sheep; I love to sit and bay the moon, to keep fat souls from sleep. I'll never be a lap dog, licking dirty feet, a sleek dog, a meek dog, cringing for my meat, Not for me the fireside, the well-filled plate, But shut door, and sharp stone, and cuff and kick, and hate. Not for me the other dogs, running by my side, Some have run a short while, but none of them would bide. O mine is still the lone trail, the hard trail, the best, Wide wind, and wild stars, and hunger of the quest! irene r mcleod

gone to that great wilderness in the sky, as brother crow and I watch and ponder his greatness..
still, he's no match for a car....

Rhadomancers...

and gold dust dancers.....

Whenever the News-Press owner and her pet chimp Travis get an award for something, there has to be a catch or something dishonest going on behind the scenes...the latest rash of awards given at swanky Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara establishments to Heal the Ocean, the NewsPress and the Humane Society of SB reminds me of the scene in Dumb and Dumber when the heroes show up in colorful tuxes (with top hats and canes) at the Aspen Preservation Society Snow Owl Benefit and bust the pompous affair! The Humane Society tries to pass itself off as an animal rights organization and it once was a respected institution, but it has grown into a huge money-making machine with little of that cash going to help animals...
When is a "Humane Society" Not a "Humane Society"?Posted On April 07, 2009
If you’re still under the impression that the Humane Society of the United States is an umbrella group for local pet shelters, think again. According to its most recent tax return (filed in November 2008), HSUS devoted less than 4 percent of its massive $91.5 million budget to hands-on dog and cat shelters in 2007. We broke the news to reporters this morning.
As we’re busy telling the media today,
Pet lovers donated over $85 million to HSUS in 2007, but only a tiny sliver of that went to helping homeless dogs and cats.
That’s nothing compared to what HSUS spends hassling hunters, complaining about circus elephants, and trying to remove meat and dairy foods from the American diet.
HSUS is telling Americans how hard it is for local shelters to stay open in this economic climate. But it’s taking their donations straight to the bank.

PETA Kills Animals, and the News is Spreading Like WildfirePosted On March 30, 2009
Last week we published new government records showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) operates a dog and cat slaughterhouse at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. And the news started spreading – fast. In the last 24 hours, hundreds of thousands of blog and newspaper readers have been briefed on PETA’s long-standing animal death program. Discussion forums are now teeming with angry pet lovers who want to see PETA pay the price for its unrepentant hypocrisy.
In case you missed last week’s announcement, here’s a breakdown of the latest statistics from today’s Daily Mail in London:
Since 1998 more than 20,000 pets handed to PETA have been put down.
In 2008 official figures show that the charity put down 2,124 animals that had been given to them.
Figures obtained from the Virginia Department of Agriculture reveal that last year PETA killed five pets a day.
The charity, which collects millions in donations, does not run an adoption shelter.
But as the most high profile animal welfare agency in the US many people take unwanted cats and dogs to their main offices in Norfolk, Virginia.
Well...I'll be dogged!

the Three Stooges....

Lanny, Joe and Curly- Mike!

it seems the NewsPress can't write an editorial without quoting the SBCTA...
are they in bed together?? Joe, who paid for that $60,000 Mercedes you've been driving..hopefully, with no Tequila Sunrises in the glove compartment! Drunk driving is no joke!! be extra careful!
Is SBCTA abusing its 501c4 tax-exempt status for political purposes and to enrich its
members instead of promoting social welfare?

Tax exemption is one of the principal benefits for non-profit organizations. Tax exemption enables the organization to operate without federal (and perhaps state) income tax. This benefit often enhances the organization’s ability to accumulate income and assets without paying taxes like you and me!Non-profit status:Both 501(c)(3)s and 501(c)(4)s must be run as not for profits.
Neither 501(c)(3)s nor 501(c)(4) earnings may benefit a private shareholder or individual.
Tax-exemption:
Both 501c3 and 501c4 organizations are exempt from paying federal income tax. State tax-exemption status varies by state.

the SBCTA wants your money..so maybe I should join...here's my analysis in blue..

the SBCTA sales pitch:

please consider donating or becoming a member donating? WTF for..what have you done that I should donate to your group of extreme rightwingers who don't work for a living? who rely on inheritance money?

Few organizations exist, especially at the local level, to watch and monitor how our local and state governments spend your tax dollars. but not yours..you don't pay taxes! The Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association has been serving taxpayers in this capacity for over 50 years, watching and monitoring..sounds like a nice job (if you're a girlie man!)

Unlike other local tax-exempt organizations, SBCTA receives no financial support from any government entity or 501 (C) 3 organizations, such as the "Fund for Santa Barbara", which claims to be a nonpartisan charitable organization and yet funds local political groups who continually support the waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer money. So the "Fund for Santa Barbara" is involved in fraud..where's the proof?

DONATE.... because SBCTA doesn't really like to work ...or mail donation to:
SBCTA, PO Box 21621, Santa Barbara, CA 93121
SBCTA is a non-profit 501(C)4 organization. Contributions to 501(c)(4) organizations generally are not deductible as charitable donations, but they may be deductible as a business expense. nobody will know!

membership
Our members are extremely important to keep SBCTA going. We rely on membership dues for approximately 50% of our budget. If you aren't yet a member, we ask you to consider joining the SBCTA so we can continue fighting to hold down your taxes! Name one incident where you've held down my taxes?
