as if one bike path drama wasn't enough, now we got two: Modoc Road and Santa Claus Lane, and this is what happens when too many people keep coming here as in PRO-GROWTHERS, or as I call them: SOBs..

they want their own little bike paths everywhere so they don't feel threatened by cars or whatever else scares them...however this ain't that.. this is a multi-purpose path for bikes, ebikes, skateboarders, people walking their dogs, wheelchairs, and at night I'm sure a few coyotes will use it...as a matter of fact, they should call it Coyote Path

Looking at the SBROADS pictures which I won't print because it's too upsetting, it seems they are cramming these projects in and the Santa Claus Lane path looks crazy, sandwiched in between the highway and railroad tracks...for 8 MILLION DOLLARS!! they all cost 8 million dollars!!

it's not a coastal access path because it's nowhere near the ocean but it is the beginning of the end of Santa Claus Lane, one of the last rural beach roads in California where you could park and go right to the beach..but it got too popular and the County is going to "improve" it after CALTRANS destroys it

but as far as the Class 1 goes, I have a feeling the bicyclists will get tired of sharing the path and switch back to the Via Real route which has a true bike lane

The Sierra Club used to be a good group of people trying to maintain environmental stewardship...they produced a good magazine but the paper, the Condor Call is now no more than a manifesto of the enviro-wacks...the nativists....Hitler was a nativist!

so now we got Katie Davis of the Sierra Club doing an OP-ED in EDHAT about the Modoc Preserve...I won't subscribe to EDHAT unless they pay me $100 so that's why I publish my comments here..plus, I don't censor although I will edit and nobody cares anyway

Again this is nonsense...eucalyptus trees won't dry out wetlands or ground water supplies..but people will...and pine trees drip sap and drop needles...but it's ok, most trees are messy, that's why we have arborists...but I wonder Katie, if the Thomas Fire had realized it was burning down fire-resistant native trees and brush, would it have stopped in Ventura?? I wonder

But in the spirit of compromise Katie, you can get rid of the castor bean plants because they are truly evil...but be careful cuz they are POISONOUS!

according to EDHAT, the County of Santa Barbara wants to hire two Hot Springs trail guides..I think I know the reason: dogs...the  news is full of stories about people hiking with their dogs and the dog takes off to chase a mongoose and ends up over a cliff..then they both need to be rescued because the dog is stupid and the owner is traumatized over nearly losing his furry pal..we need a nanny state to hold your hand when people can't fend for themselves and hiking seems to be a big problem for some folks

in the good old days, you'd go up to a Mountain Drive trail, park by the creek and take off...maybe carry a knife in a holster to look cool...then check out the nature, the beautiful nature...the pools were full of water...cool clear water and you might catch a chick sunning herself on a rock...nude
