Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine

She hides in an attic concealed on a shelf, behind volumes of literature based on herself

the Santa Barbara Public Library is not a zoo, it's a library...and a fantastic one.. I spent many hours there pouring over volumes of literature and old psychology books until the internet hit and the homeless took I haven't been in a while...but I'll always support it because it's fun going up and down the aisles looking for cool books

then I see we're in 2016 all things are suspect...and I hear about a program, a nonprofit that brings dogs to the library so kids can read to them..apparently some kids are afraid of reading aloud in front of teachers or peers (we all were) so instead of teaching them the skills needed to succeed in the people world, ARF wants kids to read to dogs and develop a conditioned response whereby they only can read in class if the dog is there!!

and the nonprofit ARF wants donations of course...

well what happens to kids who have trouble with math? do they do algebra problems with dogs?

kid: Fido, how do I solve for X?

Fido: wuff wuff

but what happens if a kid is reading a book to a dog and the dog craps right there in the library?? or a little girl reads a fairy tail to a dog and the dog starts licking his balls? or what if a dog starts convulsing from a drug overdose?? or humps a little kid's leg??

and for three days, the News-Press has had these dog porn images on the front page...DISGUSTING what this old dude is trying to do to that weird-ass dog!!

News-Press peddles DOG SMUT???

I don't know about this but it appears these crazy dog women are at it again...

but then I see this hot blonde is the founder of the program ARF ...ARF....she's a serious dog and animal nut but then I see this in the Independent about dogs on the beach..she's very much against that...

dogs in the library ok..dogs at the beach not ok?

not so sweet

Out In The Country

before the breathin' air is gone....

Three Dog Night

I'm always amazed when some non-native city slicker moves to the country, sees a coyote in the neighborhood, then sounds the alarm to bring your pets in...these wild dogs instill so much irrational fear in people that I conclude only irrational people fear coyotes..

I don't have pets because I don't need pets..why keep an animal locked up in a room just to ease my irrational social needs? besides, that's what girls are for

if a coyote scales the yard fence and scoops up a chihuahua or two, what's the problem..the little neurotic dogs are alway shaking and crying and the coyote is just doing them a favor while the chihuahua provides the coyote some nourishment...quid pro quo

living in the Santa Barbara area so close to the mountains, you are lucky to see so much wildlife...and with Autumn coming on, big raccoons and harvest moons are what I look forward to...and rain

I like to see coyotes and foxes and deer and skunks and snakes and ducks and geese...and possum...I don't like to see zombies walking their little dogs looking at their smart phones....and they pick up their dog's poop with plastic bags....and carry it around with them...this is completely irrational and no way to live...

"of all the causes that attract the attention of these young people, the plight of nature is one which may be truly a last call. Things wild and free are being destroyed by the impersonality of our attitude towards the land. What better way to fight this destruction of nature than to place in the hands of the young this powerful plea for a land ethic."

And the songbirds are singing, like they know the score...

so I read some of the US Fish and Wildlife report about conservation of the Guadelupe Dunes and surrounding wildlife refuge..they want to control the feral swine and protect the snowy plover...the snowy plover must be the most protected bird in California...I've seen them at local beaches and they are very adaptable but dogs on the beach will harrass them...

old Chinese proverb: dogs should not be on the beach, they should be on the dinner table...totally!!

Wendy, you are a feral swine! that's how you might offend someone calling them a feral swine..or Wendy you are a wild pig and I got no probelm killing wild pigs if there is a sound reason behind it..the Channel Islands had no sound reason to kill all those pigs..and they know it

but I did go check out the Carp bluffs and the native plantings...some have their own irrigation lines installed, some are doing good, some are dead and the sycamores they planted are a bit stunted..these trees are about ten years old and should be bigger...but the soil here is saline

the only litter I saw was from dog crap and the plastic bags supposedly used to contain the dog crap...the only conclusion I can reach is dog people should not be allowed on the Carp bluffs...they are too retarded to hike

some of the native plants at the bluffs entrance are fine and I saw a bird I never noticed before: a California Thrasher, a relative to the smaller mockingbird..the mockingbirds are everywhere now and have annoying, harsher sounds..

but this thrasher atop a bush had a beautiful voice..singing a beautiful song...

now the interesting thing is the California Thrasher is native to Mexico and California

so you see, you can plant natives without ripping out all the other plants and still have harmony between nature and man and even women

the California Thrasher is a really cool bird

Toe to toe / Dancing very close / Barely breathing / Almost comatose / Wall to wall / People hypnotized

Holy Roller!
ok Trump says if he's president he will hire the best and brightest but so far his campaign has been run by losers...what a piss poor manager..hires a bunch of flunkies then fires them and hires some more

and now I hear Trump has got Michelle Bachman and Sean Hannity as advisors...two crazier tea baggers/conspiracy theorists you won't find...Hannity got rich by sucking up to Rupert Murdoch, the sick owner of FOX NEWS...and Michelle was elected and served as the conservative rep for Minnesota...

she and her husband also ran a counseling center for turning gays into straights...homos to Holy Rollers if you will..
but Michelle constantly cites the bible, believes in the "Rapture" and other fables and is most assuredly deranged...the rapture describes the end of days

In Christian eschatology the rapture refers to the belief that either before, or simultaneously with, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to Earth, believers who have died will be raised and believers who are still alive and remain shall be caught up together with them (the resurrected dead believers) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air

look, a simple concept that transends religion is all we need: follow the light when walking in darkness

Michelle is rather pretty and doing her would be rapturous but she can't force others to live their lives according to her interpretaion of the bible..that's where freedom of religion stops...but maybe I could fuck the bible shit out of her!

ok so the News-Press thinks when it prints pictures and stories of veterans and soldiers it show the patriotism of the conservative owner and her long-time screwball boyfriend, Nipper...and some Christian righwingers are always looking for a handout from Wendy at her roundtable's sick I know but what can I do???

I see that the wrongful termination lawsuit against Wendy is headed for a court date/conference:
08/26/2016 8:30 AM 1486720 Ampersand Publishing LLC Geck, Donna D SB Dept 4 1) Case Management Conference Unlimited Wrongful Termination

but I don't understand why Santa Barbara judges don't put a time limit on these cases instead of dragging them out forever...

don't they know the end is near???

Wild World

oooh, baby baby it's a wild world

I've been watching nativists try to restore certain areas in the wild...meaning they rip out the non-natives and plant natives which requires extra attention, water, and care..and in many cases the natives just die because hey we've been in a drought for five years and plants needs to every plant has a life cycle...

and with 26 fires burning in California, lots of the native plantings get wiped out

as I hike the highways and byways, I can see which plants thrive and which plants don't...the fennel and sage are doing good...the castor bean is always growing even with the efforts to kill it...the ice plant does well and provides water for other native plants nearby..and the bees love it....

and various other flora with seeds drifting in on the wind grow wherever they end can be sure a nativist is looking to see what plants don't belong here so they can make plans to get rid of them..instead of just leaving them alone...or as I've said, just come in once a year and clean out the creeks

but the whole idea of restoration is folly..just because it's called native does not mean it will thrive...and when California was was part of Mexico, were all those plants native to Mexico or California?

see, there's no logic to restoration and the botanists and biologists who push it are frauds....they got university tax money to continue their little species cleansing programs and plenty of sycophants willing to spread the propaganda...obviously the Endangered Species Act needs to be gutted and re-written..any program that sanctions the killing of thousands of animals to save an inbred fox species suseptible to disease and parasites is a bad program! it's animal abuse at its worst but the killers are white Americans so they can get away with it
let me remind you that the animals killed (shot or poisoned) by the National Parks Service and Nature Conservancy included elk, cattle, pigs, hawks, donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, eagles, owls, island rats, shorebirds and even foxes were killed by these idiots....

another way they demonize animals is calling them "exotics" but what's so exotic about a deer or a rabbit?

and they claim all the restorations are successful but that is bullshit..all you need to do is look...

it is long past time to look at these restorations and expose them for the scams they are...and way past time to revisit the Endangered Species Act...

the act is getting a little old

Miles From Nowhere

guess I'll take my time...

a fantastic day for a bike ride so off I went...

up to 192 and I see these weird new signs with ominous symbols..a school bus with blood and bullet holes all over it...WTF???

then down to Santa Claus Lane which is fianlly becoming the Seaside Cape Code Village envisioned by the Jewish doctor who bought and then killed the big red Santa Claus...damn Jews!!!

as usual, the new buildings don't fit into any cohesive village..they are just there, right on the Lane beckoning deranged people to walk in and start killing...

and what kind of shops will be there? a boutique, a wine tasting room and a plastic surgeon I bet... ugh!! I remember when you could buy lobsters here..seafood on ice

Padaro Lane sidewalk to nowhere

then I rode over to Padaro Lane and Loon Point...did the county install a sidewalk to nowhere?? looks like it... there's a new sidewalk from the parking lot down Padaro a few hundred yards then..nothing???? is this across from Kevin's bluffs ranch?? is this for the rich celebrities who don't want to get their new shoes dirty?? no rhyme or reason but maybe some's ridiculous

what next, a sidewalk from the Loon Point parking lot to the beach down below??

I don't like what's happening to Padaro Lane since the celebs moved in... I see in the Montecito Journal the idiot Richard Mineards sent condolences to Rob Lowe because Rob's dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Buster died...Mineards is such a parasite and a total suckass and someone is propping up Rob's career and I'd like to know who

Rob Lowe, the pussy who complained to Wendy and caused alot of News-Press reporters to lose their jobs because they reported his address after he told the planning commission where he lived... and on PUBLIC ACCESS TV!!

maybe it's the Rob Lowe Jack Russell Terrier Memorial Sidewalk

We caught the fly today, but it escaped out into the garden.

I'll look for it again tomorrow.

Magic Carpet Ride

why don't you come with me little girl, on a magic carpet ride

now I was not invited to the polo fields when The Maharaja of Jaipur and his Royal Jaipur Polo Team Visited Santa Barbara...I read about it in the Independent and Montecito Journal...and I don't know where all these folks come from..India or whatever but they play polo and are high society so I guess you have to be extra-special to attend...and not being invited gave me a brief inferiority complex..lasted a day or so but I'm ok now

so all these polo people pose alot and there's that rich hotel dude who claims to be a polo player although I've never seen him on a horse...with tons of money, you can buy any image you want! Wendy fancies herself a newspaper publisher...but what about the poor man? the poor man is a ghost

and then I see the other polo field/sod farm/ equestrian center in Summerland is for $ale..Bella Vista with the fake stone wall entrance is owned but this hotel guy who thinks he's a world class polo player...and for $65 million, you can bust sod there, sodbuster...the plants out front are overly manicured and look faggy, but most people with money lack any common sense...basically, he sounds like an overpaid hotel clerk! but his daughter is a looker..I'd like to take her for a ride

now I love watching the Rio Olympics and the equestrian events, the ladies on horses doing ballet are just posers here, just really good horses and riders

now where is Jaipur? it's in India where they make the cool Royal Enfield motorcycles...and there's the kings and queens and princes and royal palaces and I'm sure some terrorists in there for balance...

well geez, the least The Maharaja could've done is bring me over a new motor scooter!!

You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet

she looked at me with big brown eyes and said....

I was driving home recently on Highway 101... it was a cold foggy August my right was the Bird Refuge, to my left was the golf course, ripped to shreds and torn asunder...Ty Warner's Montecito Country Club is being remodeled into an image of Jack Niclaus, the great old golfer whose time has come and gone...

but the Bird Refuge reeked like my old girlfriend..she had issues and a man can take only so I took what I could get, I took what I could get...then I got the hell outta there!

but when the course is finished and the golf begins, those players are going to have to smell the Bird Refuge and that means more bogeys than birdies..wheeeewwww!!! ah memories

Donald Trump recently hinted that the "second amendment people" could take care of Hillary and her pick of SCOTUS shoot them

then he said it was sarcasm...well it was stupid and besides, the second amendment people have already taken care of some fellow Sandy Hook Elementary school; in San Bernadino; in Florida; in Texas...yup, they is shooting up a storm

and the NRA keeps sending me propaganda about losing my gun rights to the libs so I should send them money. The NRA is classified as a 501(c)(4) "social welfare" organization. It exists to improve social welfare, not to produce profit. (Whether others agree that the promotion of social welfare is what it actually accomplishes is immaterial; clearly the organization sees itself this way.) A 501(c)(4), unlike a 501(c)(3), is allowed to engage in political lobbying.

lots of dumbasses in the NRA..they are like little Nazis!!

but I guess that is just Donald eschewing political correctness, whatever that is..oh I see in the News-Press an ad for Wendy's Young Miss America Foundation that says if you too are tired of political correctness, you can get on their mailing list and attend luncheons with speakers like lyin' Ted Cruz and mad dog Michelle Malkin who will tell you what you want to hear if you are conservative, facts be damned!

religious liberty? so long as your religion doesn't spill over into my life, you are free to chant and follow God's Law or Sharia Law....

but just try to force your religious views on me and you'll see what the second amendment is really all about

Shoot Out The Lights

Ah he might laugh but you won't see him
As he thunders through the night

so three young people in their 20s were killed on the Mesa in a high speed crash.......liquor most certainly involved

alcohol is the only legal drug that can make you drive 100 mph thru the city neighborhood streets, become airborne, hit a tree, a telephone pole and fire hydrant and crash into a resident's yard and die with a few of your passengers..and people call it an accident

this was no accident because if you drink and drive and crash and burn it is inevitable..a's a problem, not an accident..

so I wonder where the kids were drinking....and why they were allowed to workers have a duty to call cabs and hard can that be? if you are serving booze, you have an obligation to monitor the behavior of your customers...if they are boozed up they are out of control...stumbling out the door

but the booze culture in Santa Barbara is well-established like a tick on a mutt...never know where or when it's gonna burrow to suck for more blood

the cops used to have a DUI patrol but the drunks complained the cops were too hard on them and started crying to the News-Press and the City of Santa Barbara wimped out and started handing out big settlements/money to the drunks who sued for "civil rights abuse"...that's how Wendy got rich-a divorce settlement so I'm not surprised...but the new Chief should re-instate the DUI patrol which was very effective..kick-ass effective and not defer to the News-Press wankers who are nothing more than whiskey peddlers

but what about my rights to pursue happiness with so many drunks on the road??

so where were the kids getting tanked? the Boathouse over on Hendry's maybe..that place is a cesspool with the drunks, the fights, the stabbing and the freaking dogs everywhere

so now we have more drunks and deaths on the road...three young people..dead as doornails

I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in, twelve-thirty flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation

the drought will change the California, bears will die off to be replaced by lions and tigers and elephants and giraffes and maybe some wildebeests...

over on the Channel Islands, the lions and tigers will rule...they are not defenseless pigs and won't be slaughtered for to save the fox....the lions will take care of the present restored inbred fox over-population and the tigers will take care of the tourists...

the wildebeests will roam the islands having swum/floated over from Africa and they will provide food for the big cats...the grazers and hooved animals have not denuded the islands, erosion has...only the strong will survive on the islands

the Chumash will die off and you'll see more black people, more Zulus up in the valley, running safaris instead of'll be cool

the Endangered Species Act will be removed as a license to kill.....

Source: Office of Rep. Lois Capps

On Thursday, August 11, Rep. Lois Capps (CA-24) will join federal and local partners to celebrate the delisting of three Channel Island fox subspecies from the Federal List of Threatened and Endangered Species, marking the fastest recovery of any mammal in the United States in the history of the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

Capps has played an instrumental role in protecting the Channel Island fox, one of America's rarest mammals, for more than fifteen years by raising awareness in Congress of the threats to these species, working with partners to remove invasive species, and helping to secure funding to support recovery efforts through the appropriations process. For example, Capps led Congressional efforts to get the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFW) to designate the fox as an endangered species and participated in the joint efforts to aid recovery alongside federal and conservation partners by securing funds for and removing barriers to address invasive species and habitat destruction. Additionally, Capps introduced legislation to ensure protection of essential fox environment on Santa Rosa Island, which was included in the fiscal year 2008 Omnibus Appropriations Bill that became law in 2007.

In March 2016, Capps and U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewel toured the Channel Islands National Park to celebrate the foxes' recovery and highlight the conservation efforts that resulted in the USFW's proposal to delist three of the four subspecies of the fox listed under the ESA a month earlier; the fourth listed species was proposed to be down listed from endangered to threatened at the same time

ok so Lois Capps is a tool for the Nature Conservancy and National Parks Service... Lois pulled a fast one on the gullible public and now they are gonna celebrate the "recovery" of the Channel islandFox....when oh when will this fiasco be exposed??

Instead, the feds keep lying about the big success of captive breeding inbred foxes which were never endangered by golden eagles anyway...they were INBRED which creates all types of problems and they put radio collars on the foxes, bred them, inocualted them and now as I've pointed out they are running amuk on Santa Cruz island stealing food and stuff from the tourists!! and since Lois is part of the scam, she should be in jail for the animal slaughter and abuse at the hands of the NPS and Nature Con....

she enabled and funded the killing/poisoning of thousands of animals from rats to birds just like she enabled the killing of Mallory Dies by her drunk pal Raymond Morua..

are they gonna celebrate that next??

Late For The Sky

The words had all been spoken but somehow the feeling still wasn't right And still we continued on through the night

Hollister Ranch is a cool place...never been inside but it's old California when the Spanish owned it...and if you planned right, you bought a parcel and now live the vida loca...

if you are wealthy you can buy whatever you the beach, buy the rain...see if I care

but the story I've been seeing in the media started in the LA Times and the locals chimed in: Hollister Ranch beach access for the public...being a private place, the coastline is pristine...when people own property, they tend to take care of it...

unfortunately, white folks moved in and turn some of our local beaches into trash strewn dog parks....I'm fighting hard to keep Santa Claus beach from suffering the same fate...when I walk on the beach I do not want to step in dog shit...white people worship dog shit..they pick it up and bag it, say a prayer then leave the bag on a's odd and curious behavior and it makes me gag
now I'm all for beach access for everyone, but if they can keep Hollister Ranch Beach private, I'm ok with that...not a big deal..let the folks who live there alone..they deserve what they's isolated

now Wendy McCuckoo tried to limit beach access below her Hope Ranch mansion and that was inappropriate and mean-spirited...just because she got rich from a divorce doesn't mean the world owes her anything...fuck her!! fuck that bitch!!

and the fact that the YMCA owns some land in the area and wants to build a summer camp should be a separate issue but it's part of the lawsuit with a bunch of easments and promises when they bought the land in 1972...

camps are cool..every kid should go to camp...the tall cat on my right with the glasses had a big old Gibson guitar and I followed him around camp trying to learn stuff....great guy!! look at all them band of gypsies...we had fun and got into a little trouble

the cutie on my left...well...we were both wearing cowboy boots, pants in.... I don't know why she was the only girl in the picture but I was pretty happy...she was cool...a tomboy but all girl..look at those eyes...all the debutantes in Houston couldn't hold a candle to her!

and whose hand is she touching, ever so slightly?? it looks like we were all in on one big secret joke...what a picture!

it takes the right people to make places special...and the right ones are the owners of Hollister Ranch right now

Sunday, August 7, 2016

we are stardust, we are golden

hey man, don't dump your hippie fantasies on me!! Woodstock is over..there was only one original and it will never happen again!! and it was awesome

ok Carpinteria has enough festivals..we have two good solid fun festivals..the Avocado Fest and the 4th of July fest....we don't need anymore...but I see the city is contemplating an Open Streets Festival like they have in Santa no no no! this must not happen here..there is no reason for this to happen...they close down the city so a bunch of annoying hipsters and yuppies can play in the streets...I mean there's the Bluffs, the beach, the mountains-plenty of room for recreation..why the fruck would they want to close the streets?? no no no no!!

but the worst festival is the Beer Festival called Surf and and surfing have nothing to do with each other and combining them is a stupid idea..yet for the 4th time in as many years, Carpinteria State Beach will hold the Surf and Suds Beer Festival..this is advertised in the Coastal View who also sponsors the fest..but I noticed a "Mega Sized Beer Pong" was mentioned in the ad

beer pong..isn't that the game that affluenza kid from Texas was playing when he got busted for violating his court order...he's the kid who killed four people while driving drunk

The Official Rules of Beer Pong

(a.k.a Beirut)

Beer Pong is a drinking game which is especially popular among college students, but can be enjoyed by any group looking for anything from a good buzz to a drunken stupor. It is generally played in pairs of two, with the teams standing at opposing ends of a flat, rectangular surface (preferably a ping pong table, but anything accepted by both teams can be used). Six or ten cups are formed in a pyramid at either end of the table, with the base of the pyramid centered at the edge of the table. The players attempt to toss or bounce ping pong balls into the cups, each of which is filled with 1/3 of a beer (or other intoxicating spirit). When a player makes a shot into a cup of the opposing team, a player from the opposing team drinks the contents of the cup and removes it from the table. The game continues in this way, with both players from one team taking a shot, followed by both players from the other team. The team that is able to clear all of the opposing team’s cups first is the winner, with the losing team splitting the contents of the winning team’s remaining cups. To begin, a player from each team takes a shot simultaneously without looking at the cups. This is repeated until one team makes, and one team misses. This decides who gets the first possestion. After the first game, the winning team gets the first shot. The elbow rule is also applied for EVERY shot. A players elbow may not cross the plane of the playing table or it does not count. It sounds simple, but the game is more complex than it first appears, as you will soon see…

Bouncing vs Tossing:

Any player taking a shot has the option of attempting to toss the ball directly into the opposing team’s cups or bouncing the ball one or more times into the cups. If a player successfully makes a bounced shot, the opposing team has to drink two cups: the one in which the shot was made and another from the pyramid. As we already know, a regular (non-bounced) toss is only worth a single cup. However, there is a catch. The defending (non-throwing) team can defend cups against bounced a shot by blocking or swatting the ball once it hits the table. The defending team can only defend a shot once the ball has hit the table, so the throwing team doesn’t take a risk by tossing instead of bouncing, as tossed shots are indefensible. Defending a toss as if it were a bounce is a sign of either drunkenness or dishonor; either way, it is punished at the very least by letting the player shoot again, if not by drinking a cup. This can be decided in a civil fashion by both sides using their best judgment, taking into account the circumstances surrounding the infraction.

how stupid is this? I just can't believe that Carpinteria is holding a festival that encourages people to get drunk..ENCOURAGES!!! is this why we're fighting all these desert wars so these little jerk-offs can play beer pong all day???

hopefully they will play beer pong, get drunk and go surfing at Carp beach...

and there'll be plenty of sharks just off shore...waiting

can you dig it??

The Girl From Ipanema

tall and tan and young and lovely....

I finally figured out what's wrong with the News-Press-they all got ZIKA!!

the nonprofit Channel Keeper spends lots of time and money suing the City of Santa Barbara for a few reasons: to keep the lawyers rich and to keep the fat chick's mouth full of cheeseburgers..oh you know who she is...

but Channelkeeper and Princess Kira are unnecessary because the City of Santa Barbara does a great job protecting the ocean from pollution...

so when I see reports about Rio de Janeiro's waters being polluted, about raw sewage flowing into the bay, the same water where Olympic athletes are swimming and boating, where some are wearing protective gear, I am thankful to live in the USA where pollution is taken seriously..not by conservatives, but by everyone else who uses the water for food and recreation

so I thank all the folks who work at all the sewage treatment plants, from Carp to Goleta for REALLY keeping us safe! it's a dirty job, and these folks do it without pay them well!!
but in Rio, a beautiful place, how can they live with such an environmental mess? if Channelkeeper was really worth anything, they'd be in Brazil kicking up a storm about this but it is easier to sue the City of SB and get a payday from the taxpayers...over a few gallons of sewage that overflowed when city lines back up occasionally...get real

"To those familiar with the modern Guanabara Bay, around which sprawls the city of Rio de Janeiro, this description of the region by Herman Melville must seem like a surrealist fantasy. So must the depiction of the bay in Whale Hunting, a work by 18th century Brazilian artist Leandro Joaquim, which shows giant mammals being hunted amidst the waves.

Today, much of the region's wildlife has been eradicated by the untreated sewage and industrial waste that pours into the bay on a daily basis. Broken television sets, plastic bags and used condoms are a more common sight than fish, and last week a severed arm was found floating in its waters"

it's unconscionable!!

and it will never happen here

Caroline No

where is the girl I used to know....

a girl once told me that the Santa Barbara waterfront looks seedy, or dirty...I looked up from my computer this morning, glanced out the window and recalled my stint on Cannery Row... the skies were gray again..the weather affects the if you look at Santa Barbara in the gray overcast, the buildings look dirty, the people look ghostly and since we've had no rain for five years, nothing gets washed away..not the dirt, not the sins

ok so I had to get some new tires for my truck...I got a flat last week just as I exited at the Bird Refuge and BOOM BOOM!!! rolled very loudly into Dal Pozzo's and they found a big hole from a spike in the tire...on the way some chick started screaming at me around Tri County Produce "you've got a flat tire, you've got a flat tire!!" yeah, I know

anyway I'm back today to get a whole set of'll take about an hour so I brought my bike and went to check out the waterfront to see if maybe that chick was tripping on some Australian Gold...

saw a really cool Royal Enfield motorcycle but there have been some changes to the SB waterfront...the state of destruction/development is constant..where is the Santa Barbara I used to know??

the State Street main artery has been severed so I don't know if I'm in Santa Barbara or Mumbai or Santa Monica...the Funk Zone is a maze of alcohol establishments and trendy could go round in circles here for hours and not see anything..

the Fiesta Parade may look like an illegal alien invasion to the confused conservatives and the drunks in the Funk Zone could panic and fall off their bar stools

the Reagan Ranch Center owned by Wendy McCuckoo is a shrine to a dead president and a lost political party....basically, it's a's death for the has no heart

and the new bridge by Cabrillo Blvd is over-engineered and has no real Santa Barbara stamp on it...looks like a bunker bomb hit the site...the homeless look at home, finally
the skate park should never have been built..

the carousel is out of place and unwelcoming...go to Monterey to see a real old timey carousel and arcade...when you're in Monterey, you know you are in Monterey

yes it's true somebody fucked with the Santa Barbara waterfront...for the high-dollar tourist's so sad to watch a sweet thing die, Oh Caroline No

but you can still get a a good burger at Sambo's!

The Ballad of the Chestnut Mare

and we'll be friends for life, she'll be just like a wife..I'm going to catch that horse if I can

Fiesta is coming up and I have to look at yet another white guy as El Presidente riding a horse like a businessman instead of a gaucho! Old Spanish about a nice senorita as El Presidente..or a John Wayne type..he was married to a few Mexican gals, was fluent in Spanish and his films had the cool old Fiesta spirit! and he could make a horse go backwards!!

horses are symbols of freedom and the west...but do horses dream? I don't know I'm not a horse..but if I was a horse, I'd dream of wide open spaces to run with my friends..or maybe live on a ranch and give kids rides all day...I'd be a do-gooder kinda horse

or maybe live out on the Channel Islands and be free...oh that used to be a reality not a dream...but the NPS and Nature Con fixed that..they confiscated the islands

and now that all my admonitions to the National Parks Service and Nature CONservancy about ill-conceived restorations have gone unheeded, Mother Nature has stepped in to do the talking..

so the Channel Islands biologists have really messed things up and now we got too many foxes ..but we also have some interesting plants moving in...remember the push to get rid of ice plant on the islands using child labor, well it looks like another species of ice plant has filled the niche..I read about this in the News-Press/ Peter Howorth's was pretty good and when Peter is not busy screaming "SHARK", he can write a pretty good story...

according to Howorth, the islands are being hit by crystalline ice plant and it's spreading's not a big deal although Peter says it "chokes out" Coreopsis, it's not true...the nativists always say that

Coreopsis grows and dies out very quickly and does not thrive in a plant survives because it can adapt..and hold is tight

I know many people hate ice plant and will either poison it or get huge plastic sheets and suffocate it like they did at the Carp State Beach... sounds crazy but we're dealing with nativists and they are kooky

Howorth goes on to list the benefits of the crystalline ice plant from food to medicinal...don't kill it, harvest it!

the notion that the NPA and Nature Con are going to turn the Channel Islands into a pre-Columbian native garden is idiotic..they have built little post-Columbian cabins so the tourists can watch the foxes..but now there's too many foxes and they are stealing food and creating a nuisance...

the islands were the best when the ranchers lived there with the sheep, horses and all the other animals... some that came over on giant pieces of driftwood!

the story of the NPS/Nature Con mismanagement will come to light if the media gets hold of it and is motivated to report

but that's a mighty big if
