Love Is Just a Four- Letter Word

Though I tried and failed at finding any door

I must have thought that there was nothing more absurd

Than that love is just a four-letter word

Dennis Quaid wants to move the Hollywood film industry to Texas...he says he can't remember the last time he made a film in California... well, neither can I, Dennis, neither can I

but Yellowstone star Kevin Costner lives just down the road on Padaro Lane and so do Ellen and Portia and a bunch of other celebs...we live by the highway because we are restless...you never know when we're gonna jump in the Land Rovers and hit the road...we are highway people and we'll be alright...

but anyway, there was a commotion at Kevin's a little while ago:

"Just days after Kevin Costner was "blindsided" with divorce papers, someone inside the actor's California home called 911 to report a trespasser, who was refusing to leave, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

Three squad cars responded to the home located in the swanky enclave of Carpinteria at about 10 PM on May 6, according to the 911 dispatch logs obtained by RadarOnline.com from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

The dispatch records listed the problem as “Trespass/Refusing to Leave." The disposition of the police run is unknown and coded with the term: “PR Contact 083” — a possible reference to the Sheriff’s public relations department.

Raquel Zick, the Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, did not respond to RadarOnline.com's email inquiry seeking to find if the 911 call was in any way related to the explosive divorce between the Yellowstone stud and Christina Baumgartner, the mother of his three children.

Baumgartner, 49, slammed Costner with the divorce papers on May 2, just 21 days after she officially separated from her husband of 18 years, bombshell court documents showed.

The 911 call comes as RadarOnline.com reported the Field of Dreams actor is gearing up for a bare-knuckle brawl with Baumgartner, who he believes plans to fight the prenuptial agreement they have in place and possibly try and wrestle for a large chunk of his $250 million fortune."

Carpinteria a swanky enclave?? maybe before CALTRANS and cannibas turned us into a third-world shithole...

I don' know, but Kevin, I thought "The Postman" was a great movie!

Casablanca

"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine"

It's Spring and a time for fresh new starts and that goes for the News-Press, too. I guess Wendy grew tired of State St with all the people eating in the street, rats everywhere..it was looking like a scene straight outta David Copperfield!

I heard rumors about the News-Press building being haunted with empty barrels of ink and crumpled margarita recipes...

Wendy, were you aware of your pal Rob Lowe marching on the picket line to support Hollywood writers and the union?? I'm shocked...shocked!!

I've written much about Wendy of course after she bought the newspaper and started lying about public employee and most gov't functions. When we needed a real gov't watchdog, we got a crazy lady who tried to ruin the SB cops careers when they kept busting her drunk driver friends...the cops, two excellent police officers, are doing well and thriving but I can't say the same for our Wendy...or ex-City Councilman Frank Hotchkiss who is now a UBER driver in Georgia?? Round up the usual suspects!

and when she started her anti-rodeo nonsense during Fiesta, I figured she didn't have any horse sense..I like rodeos because I'm a cosmic cowboy, obviously...and I wonder how Wendy feels about 7 dead horses at the Kentucky Derby this year...no doubt drug induced

there's not much room for the News-Press these days, or conservatives...they cancel, ban and want you to live the life they have designed for you but that ain't gonna fly, not in America..

Wendy, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that.

"Here's looking at you, kid."

Mother Nature's Son

Sit beside a mountain stream

See her waters rise

HAPPY EARTH DAY!! MOFOs

now, it appears that Wendy is moving the News-Press offices from De La Guerra Plaza to Goleta to help save Mother Earth, according to the News-Press

"The Santa Barbara News-Press building, which faces De la Guerra Plaza in Santa Barbara, was built in 1922 and designed by architect George Washington Smith. Starting next week, departments at the newspaper will move to the publication’s Goleta offices.

The Santa Barbara News-Press — the oldest daily newspaper in Southern California — is starting the next chapter of its proud history at a new home."

New home?? sounds like a white flag, a retreat, a belly flop, a surrender to me!

gee, I remember those days when Travis, the gay drunk Indian, would stare out the barred windows of the News-Press building at the peons below protesting Wendy's anti-union propaganda....and the Minutemen child-killers that Wendy and Nipper supported!! I'm getting misty, so I'll have to do a story on the good old days!

good for her but newspapers are obsolete and kill trees so I wanna see a total winding down of operations

and Wendy, make sure you don't print any more lies or you'll end up like FOX NEWS...

down and out

PS: Blogger has decided to put "Warning" signs on some old posts..those are the ones I'd read if I were you

Happy Together

Imagine me and you

so now we have "invasive" turtles at Alice Keck Park in Santa Barbara and of course it's an emergency..the City of SB is working on a plan to relocate them...I love the turtles and they should remain..this is just plain silly...the Parks Dept says people are dumping the turtles in the pond, but with all the creeks and byways, I'm sure they get there on their own...always fun to see turtles!! and if there's too many, make some turtle soup..

John Palmintieri, the most famous reporter and quite frankly, the conscience of Santa Barbara, was pointing out the 101 traffic issues recently and it got me thinking whilst watching the train go by...

it should be obvious to all that Caltrans is milking the highway project..overbuilding, over-engineered, etc..I've watched them build the 8-million dollar sidewalk from Santa Claus Lane to Carp Ave...took about 20 guys 3-plus months to erect a guardrail with tons of concrete and rebar and it's only about 30 ft long...they got a long ways to go...and now we got more roundabouts per capita than anywhere in the world!! anyone who supported this stupid project should be sent to the woodchipper!!

but be warned: don't let Caltrans come in and destroy your beautiful coastal town!!

I don't drink beer but if I did, I'd prefer Pabst Blue Ribbon, and I've been analysing Kid Rock's shootout with some Bud Light cans and it appears there's some heavier gunfire coming in off camera, to the far right.

I don't think Kid is shooting real bullets, but rather blanks and someone else shot up the cans

but I can't name one song from this clown...

Nashville Cats

play clean as country water

when I think of Nashville, I think of music...not this: Six Dead including three children. A 28-year-old Nashville white woman with two "assault-style" rifles and a pistol was killed by police at The Covenant School, a private Christian school.

I'm sorry to the kids for the morons in America who are too busy chasing drag queens, Tik Tok, and Mickey Mouse to figure out how to protect the lives of students in school.

I am deeply sorry

Percy's Song

oh, how cruel, the wind and the rain

I'm a big fan of the wind and rain but enough is enough.. I want to see some sunshiny days and calm breezes where I can watch the birds, flowers and butterflies without being assaulted by pelting coldness on my brain all the time..

the house Republicans are going after Big Tech mainly because they can't figure out how the internet works and TIK TOK is the latest bogeyman...these people are just dumb and it's no wonder they want to abolish the Dept of Education, a major threat to their ignorance! geez

Just down the road, the Sandpiper Moblie home Park got hit by a twister during the storms, a whirling dirvish if you will...I wonder if the Sound Walls actually directed some of that energy into the park?? somehow...I'll have to think on that

There's some dirt roads up in the hills and they turned into rivers, very pretty!

The infernal 8-million-dollar bike/dog path continues to annoy me while the potholes on Via Real are as big as swimming pools!

I'm not much affected by the Carpinteria pot farm smells, but the folks who live in the hills are and they deserve a reprieve...Melinda Burns, who Wendy fired for being too good a journalist, has the stories and holds the pulse of the cannabis wars in our little town...Das Williams has got to go!

and finally, I see a peregrine falcon by the marsh which signals a most bountiful and beautiful Spring...then again, it could be a lousy hawk, which is a bad omen

Before the Deluge

let the music keep our spirits high

Dear Greta,

have you noticed the snails? they're huge! washed down through millennia...do you think it's the climate...maybe I'll grab a couple for dinner tonight before the rains come...at least they're grass fed! escargot cooked avec du pain et du beurre and du vin...c'est bon!!

hey, how about a new slogan "Ask Not What the Climate Can Do for You, Ask What You Can Do for the Climate" haha

but Greta, there's a couple things bothering me...poisoning in the name of bionativism...check this out from Arizona: LEES FERRY – The National Park Service will poison a Colorado River side channel below Glen Canyon Dam to remove fish that threaten native species, the agency announced. Can you believe that??

and people are afraid of eucalyptus trees because they fall sometimes...have they ever seen a redwood, I wonder??

and shooting animals from helicopters...the feds (Forest Service) and non-profits are killing 150 black cows in the New Mexico Gila National Forest wilderness..they cooked up a story about the dangers posed by hoofed animals trampling creeks and scaring hikers, yet in Santa Barbara, they're using sheep to eat invasive weeds on the San Marcos Preserve, the same sheep they killed on the Channel Islands for being non-native!

Greta, I think someone is trying to pull the wool over our eyes!
