Shock the Monkey
you got to...
back in the old days, they used shock therapy on humans to address behavior deemed inappropriate.... Centuries ago, eels were used to intentionally shock people to address a variety of health issues including headaches and other mental problems...they also used to drill holes in your head to let the demons out...trepanning it's called...
as we evolved, those barbaric methods disappeared although Trump may try to bring them back..
now, I see weepy ads on TV about poor neglected dogs and cats who need a monthy donation from you to save them...ok, that's fine
then I see where PETCO, a private company, was selling shock collars for dogs until recently..as PETCO may go public and trade on the stock market, it decided to stop selling the shock collars...sounds like a PR move
point being I didn't know they had shock collars! I was shocked! it's barbaric!

I know most folks would never stoop to electro-shocking their dogs, but some people, lacking control of their own lives, may try to micro-control a dog to compensate...
then I see a local shop selling CBD treats for dogs who are neurotic..the cannabis calms them down...
but there's nothing wrong with the dogs, it's the owners who are the problem
I wonder how many animals rights people use these shock collars on their dogs?? Wendy??
