so the News-Press is in political endorsment mode for November's election, five months away..I promise they will endorse the conservative trio of Rowse, Francisco and Self at least 50 times between now and then...I will not vote for any of them because I don't live in SB...however if I did, I would give Rowse and Francisco the heave ho...the NP suggests they are sharp watchers of the city finances, yet each one voted to spend $50000 to turn some State St benches away from the homeless, and a few million dollars to redo the Library entrance to confuse the homeless... these guys are nitwits and don't deserve to making decisions for the city..they need to go to work officially for the News-Press promoting ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...

ok so what about Mike Self, who has been the target of some satire right here on this blog...well, I would give her another term....not that she doesn't have her weird moments, she does have a better grasp of common sense than the others....having met her briefly in front of the County Admin bldg, she was able to convey a keen understanding of satire...while Joe Armenrdariz was challenging me to a fight, Mike Self was mothering him and calming him down..and when I asked her why Joe was so mad at me, she calmly explained to Joe that my blog is designed for just that purpose...to bite....so I gained some respect for her....and she voted against the bench turning idea.....for the most part, she's been an asset to the council and an independent voice....

I can't say the same for Rowse and Francisco whose anti homeless obsession borders on crazy....fellows..listen to me: the bums, transients, hobos, or whatever you want to call them, have been here since the Depression..they will always be here..and your efforts to hide them have been folly....real people are working on solutions, silly people are turning benches around...we don't need anymore silly people on the council....or in politics, like Democrat Anthony Weiner of New York..now there's a silly dude....

ok..I've been keeping tabs on all the things that scare Santa Barbarans, and I made a list....first of course is the homeless, then unions, then we got city workers, they're pretty scary..and now we have a new culprit: Raggedy Ann!

that's right Raggedy Ann has created a stir in town and it's gotten so bad that Cottage Hospital has banned Raggedy Ann from entering the premises!

appparently some patients who are under sedation have been hallucinating so bad that their hallucinations are seeing hallucinations in the form of Raggedy Ann stalking them through the halls of sterile Cottage Hospital....

the crying and screaming was too much for the hospital administrators, so they had to stop the invasion..the invasion being a good nonprofit called Adventures in Caring who for years have been sending in adults dressed as Raggedy Ann dolls to cheer up patients....if I was sick, er sicker, and in the hospital and some babe dressed up in a Raggedy Ann outfit came in to "cheer me up", I would be thrilled....I mean it wouldn't be the first time I've tripped on a doll !

but seriously....hallucinations? what drugs are these people on? acid? mescaline? mescaline I can understand might induce some wild mountain honey and if you've ever read Carlos Casteneda you'd know...but I find it amusing that Cottage would overreact in such a manner....
then it dawned on me....it must be a dig against the homeless......an attempt by a for-profit hospital not to look like it is enabling homeless people..and who is a bigger poster child for the homeless than Raggedy Ann!!!

I think I might visit the SB Council chambers carrying a Raggedy Ann doll and see how Rowse, Hothckiss and Francisco react....and if you see me strolling down State St with Raggedy Ann under my arm, it's a sign your hallucinations have just begun....

there are two stories that caught my eye on the front page of the News-Press..one that the price of feathers is going up..and two, 15 kids from Kathy Ireland's Christian school graduated..... yes, apparently some young people are attaching feathers from fishing lures to their ears as a fashion statement resulting in the price of feathers going up!!

and congratulations to the fifteen graduates of Providence Hall, a Christian college in downtown Santa Barbara...founded by Kathy Ireland and her friends looking for a place to send their kids without influences from the real world... Providence Hall is an ultra conservative Christian mini college turning out future Dancing with the Stars intellectuals, like Kathy!

oh boy, I feel so sorry for these kids...there's a Westmont influence here with former Westmont/present PH headmaster David Winter, who was quoted as saying " we need to keep these kids away from the public school population to avoid corrupting them".....there's even a bronze statue of this idiot at Westmont...what's that the bible said about false idols??

and Kathy even presented Winter and his Stepford wife with a free trip to Israel...that's right..the same Israel that has been pissing on Palestine forever, beating the Palestinian kids, terrorizing them and calling them dogs, is the promised land to some Christians....America's support of Israel in this religious conflict needs to stop...but it's hard with all these brainwashed Christians running around like chickens with their heads cut off!! like pageant beauty queens..like Sarah Palin....like Kathy Ireland, always smiling and praising God for helping her throught difficult times on Dancing with the Stars, supports this: JERUSALEM – Two Israeli newspapers published disturbing accounts this week about misconduct by Israeli soldiers during this country's January offensive in Gaza – and one statement stood out from the rest.

ok..that felt weird...but the reason for this little exercise is I would very much like to inherit the Clark Estate...I think it is perhaps the coolest property in the world..shrouded in innocence and mystery...that is a profound gift in itself to leave to Santa Barbara..to have a majestic property by the beach and not do anything to it!! the owner Huguette Clark sounds like my kinda girl... the more I read about her, the more I like her...the old photos tell the story..I don't think she was a recluse, just a little unique...and the Clark Estate would be a perfect second home for me!!

Huguette Clark was a musician, an artist and preferred speaking French... et Je parle un peu francais aussi!

in the early 1900's she turned the Andree Clark Bird Refuge from a saltwater to a freshwater pond..the Bird Refuge was named after her deceased sister...now of course she should have left the Bird lake salt water and allow the natural tidal flushes..this would prevent the yearly algae blooms and fish die offs that stink to high Heaven..but.... I forgive her for that..she was working from the heart...

when you hear all the news about home prices tumbling and the economy tanking..don't believe it..it's all political BS...that home is worth over one hundred million dollars....if I get it, I won't do a thing with it in keeping with Huguette's philosophy..even tho she barely lived there she understood the Santa Barbara tradition of grand old estates..of stone and charm and history....

contrast this to someone like Ty Warner...this dude bothers me....he got his money selling stupid beanie babies to stupid people....Huguette got her money from the copper industrialist family, a working class family....that's a more solid background even tho she inherited her wealth...but that's what they did back then..she must have been meek, in a good way... tell me, what's more important..copper piping to convey water in your house, or a freakin' beanie baby??

and look at Ty's properties...he bought a few old estates on Channel Drive and destroyed them! the old ones were cool..I used to hang out in them with my Laguna Blanca buddies ..wild kids we were back then...but I had to move on....

now when you go past Ty's houses you'll see excess...giant ornate orange botoxed monstrosities that detract from the area...over manicured....it's very creepy compared to the beautiful austerity of the Clark Estate...Ty wanted to buy it years ago, but thankfully they rejected him....I know he would have destroyed that too....

maybe I'll do a little seance tonight and see if I can communicate with Huguette..and maybe we can work out a deal....I think in the afterlife, she'll be very receptive....

first we got the Milpas Association and the News-Press complaining about the homeless..then we got the News-Press and that idiot CEO from Carl's Jr complaining about the anti-business climate in California... then when a new food business, Fresh & Easy, plans a move to Milpas St, they all complain!!!

check out the website..it looks like a beautiful store, clean and well organized... for working class families and folks..maybe that's why Wendy doesn't like it!! I will not shop at Whole Foods because the CEO is a teabagger like Wendy....I think Fresh & Easy will be a good thing altho I've never heard of them...but any business that irks the News-Press is a business I will visit...

and they want to extend the Snowy Plover "protection" from East beach to West beach....the big goal being to cut off beach access in California to human activity except for the rangers in Boy Scout outfits and ecofascistbiohippies wearing ponytails!!


they will flood the beaches with ecofascistbiohippies wearing ponytails and they will rip out all non native plants, even going so far as to try and stop eel grass from growing in the ocean!! these are red flags big enough to stop an Indy 500 race!!

First of all, the Center for Biological Diversity, which Wendy supports with big cash donations, is about as credible as the Nature Con...servancy....these agencies have spent billions trying to make nature conform to their visions of what California should be...the result of their native-only thinking is everywhere...scatter-brained ideas, unholy alliances with BP Oil polluter, dead animals, harassed animals, over-protected animals, poisoned habitats....all to keep the grant money coming in....that's money and resources wasted up and down the coast.....they've even pulled gov't agencies in on the fun.....CALTRANS being the biggest suckers....just look at what Caltrans has done...they've spent time trying to restore the landscaping along Highway 101...they put in expensive irrigation lines, many are leaking...have been leaking for weeks and CALTRANS does nothing except spray poison on the weeds...and weeds being weeds, they always grow back!!

CALTRANS has taken their eyes off the ball...FIX THE ROADS, NOT THE NITROGEN!!! all landscape projects, except minor maintenance should be stopped!

I don't mind some reasonable protections for plovers or other wild things but these folks, the ecomaniacs, are out of control....

the City of Santa Barbara needs to stop this plover protection plan because the plover does need protection down here ...do you know why? because the Snowy Plover belongs in the snow, not the sand! that's why he's called "Snowy"..duh..ship them back to Alaska where he'll be happier....see, I'm all about solutions...

and it's long past time to expose these folks pushing the pseudoscience of bionativism..but it's gonna be hard because the city itself has bought into it...remaking creeks, paying Jill Z too much money for over-thinking trails....Jill Z: "let's see..hmmmm... this trail points south, will it get enough sun so the native plants can grow or do we have to spend $120000 to put in a bioswale, a separate irrigation system or get some trail gnomes to help us reroute it...hmmmm...let's see..what shall we do......"

there seems to be a pattern of criminal behavior among those associated with the News-Press...Wendy for the labor law violations, Travis and pal Joey for the DUIs, Lanny Ebenstein for the pot houses in Eureka, Scott S for lying to a judge..obviously these people have some mommy issues...and now.....

ok so on a tip from an alert reader, I learn that someone named Peter A Lance is having a criminal trial in Santa Barbara's Superior Court.... I checked it out on the court calender which I can't reproduce here because they will arrest me! holy shit look at all those people in trouble!! is tax money going to these cases??? whatever happened to personal responsibility??

the name rang a bell because a guy named Peter Lance, a sometime Emmy Award winning investigative journalist for the News-Presss, wrote some propaganda about a nonprofit called the Unity Shoppe.....and the News-Press and the Unity Shoppe are thick as thieves....

ok.... so if this is the same Peter Lance who emailed me awhile back asking to discuss a police report that I had copied from EdHAT onto my blog.. (hey EDHAT..if I'm goin' down you're going down with me!!) then we got a story.... the email was related to a drunk driving incident and accident that occured on Garden St, allegedly where Lance lives...I couldn't tell if Lance was involved or not, so don't go start spreading rumors!!

and normally I could care less about Peter..but he did take a sucky job with the News-Press so he's a marked man...

anyway, this Lance guy is on the criminal court calender to appear for an R&S Settlement Conference and a jury trial at a later date..Santa Barbara Hospitality LLC has an R&S Settlement date, too..and a bunch of other Santa Barbarans do too!! I don't know what R&S Settlement Conference means but I do know what a jury trial is......you are suspected of being a criminal!! what did you do Peter???

you'll recall Nipper told me that Lanny Ebenstein's predicament in Eureka was not newsworthy because it was a civil case..let's see if Peter Lance criminal case shows up in the News-Press, if it's the same Peter Lance who reported for them and who's friends with Don Katich..or has there been a cover up??

well I suppose it's all supposition at this point....but there are some clues and we may be able to assume it is the same guy...but remember, when you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME
