Acapulco Gold

We're goin' south to get that Acapulco Gold
Ain't nothin' it can't fix

Mr. Frivolous
well I thought that Wendy fired reporters for being biased...but here we have Scott Steepleton the city editor reporting about Steve Pappas on the front page and injecting his opinions about the ruling...

Pappas, aka Mr. Frivolous, lost yet again when the Supreme Court threw out his lawsuit about some frivolous thing related to his loss to Dorren Farr...as I predicted on April 12, 2013 the Supremes wouldn't hear the case:
latest in the on-going hissy fit by "image consultant" Steve Pappas is he hired Barry Cappello to waste the Supreme Court's time because he lost an election to Doreen Farr! I guarantee the Supremes will not even hear this case...

http://santabarbaranewspressblogcom.blogspot.com/2013/04/shotgun.htmlsupposedly

according to Pappas, the election was rigged and he doesn't want to pay Farr for his other frivolous lawsuit.....these fuckers never learn!! lawsuits are good for solving real probelms between people, but overused they become a drain on the system...nowadays people sue you if you look at them cross-eyed..or some psychotic perception of wrong-doing...

atty Barry Capello represented Pappas and I guess Capello and Wendy settled their lawsuit because I don't see any court dates anymore....pals again, Wendy and Barry??

to Wong Foo

I watch KSBY News sometimes but the gal anchor always kinda bothered me..then I was watching To Wong Foo last night and Patrick Swayze in drag reminded me of Jeanette! something is going here... I mean there at KSBY

ok now this is annoying me too....people are naming beer after animals..it started with the idiot at the Brewhouse naming beer after elephants..now some dude has created Condor Trail Ale and wants you to drink it to promote a trail in the forest..what a stupidass idea..the story was in the Independent whose writers have becomed obsessed with alcohol...is Marianne an alcoholic??

now I do love Joni Mitchell but I don't like Joni Gray at all...she's always bothered me she's just so phony but COLAB, Andy Caldwell and the Chumash loved her..she was a supervisor for the corrupt north counties and she just got fined for the malfeasance with the Lompoc Housing scam which was reported in the Indie and Lompoc Record....Joni got off easy with only a $3000 fine...

so now I gotta run to the Martin Maguire stoner/ DUI hearing this morning...I got some questions for the dude...
Zig zag pottum wottum diddum woddum doo
Hey diddle diddle twenty three skidoo

send in the clowns

don't bother they're here

so we have this punk white guy, a former NSA contractor who cowardly fled to Hong Kong before disclosing he was behind the leak of top secret US spying programs, is now an alleged target of US drone strike! a drone strike..I can't make this stuff up..send in the drones..this guy, Edward Snowden says he leaked details of US program harvesting internet and phone records to protect basic liberties...well spying has been going on forever so I don't know what his problem is...I'm online right now and the Feds may be watching me but I don't care.. I got nothing to hide..I'm not a terrorist or a traitor like Snowden....and those naked chicks I was looking at are over 18, so I'm not worried..err, too worried...well now I'm worried

now if I could get some drones to strike drunk drivers, that would be cool!

so I see a pothead has endorsed Frank Hothckiss....Lanny Ebenstein of the News-Press says Frank is a spiritual man and credits him with saving Santa Barbara...Frank did this single-handedly by ridding the streets of homeless raggedy people, getting rid of 81 city workers, (they probably retired) adding more money to the coffers by allowing Carnival Cruise ships to dock off shore...I like to call these ships giant floating Vessels of Dysentery ....

but ok Frank all by himself improved the economy, the TOT, the housing market is up because of Frank and... and... and he gave us the bull market..stocks are riding high..thanks Frank!!!

and according to reefer dude Lanny, Frank is the kinda guy who would give you the shirt off his back..now why would anyone want to wear a used Frank Hotchkiss shirt? maybe Lanny would because maybe Lanny is gay!!

well there's nothing wrong with that but there is something with Lanny...he claims to be a teacher at UCSB but obviously he's not an English teacher...look at the ?? sentence structure and see if you can figure it out... "whereby unless" WTF is that?

no I can't vote in Santa Barbara elections but Frank has a good shot at being elected...mainly because he's entertaining..I like the back and forth between him and Cathy, the fat gal...city councilmembers must guide the city through rough seas, represent the voters..but most of all they must be entertaining....

and we have a few jokers running this time around....

29 palms

A fool in love - a crazy situation
Her velvet glove knocks me down and down and down
Her kiss of fire - a loaded invitation
Inside her smile she takes me down and down and down

where are the birds??
well I went down to check out the Carpinteria Salt Marsh...the city was trimming palm trees...I counted 29 palms...but first I stopped by Ten Rub Towers to see an old flame...29 Palms - I feel the heat of your desert heart...Taking me back down the road that leads back to you...

I heard rumors that a recent sandbar at the mouth of the salt marsh has stopped the tidal flows into parts of the marsh.... so I started at the south entrance and worked my way down to the UCSB ecological study area on Estero Way...

my first impressions are there's a bunch of new native plants that are dying...and I saw one shorebird...ONE!! and the channels do look stagnant and filled with algae, but not too bad and it smelled pretty good, like the beach...but the idea of the bionativists was all these new native plants would attract native wildlife but that's just baloney...native wildlife also seek non-native plants...the bastard plants have properties that protect the wildlife....man oh man these biologists are dumb as a bag of sand!!

and I am concerned....I remember a few years ago they trucked in tons of fill dirt to raise a berm and construct a pedestrian bridge...I'm concerned with the development of expensive beach houses so close to the marsh....

I'm concerned with all the beach nourishment projects...here and in Santa Barbara

but mostly I'm concerned with all the entities that now own or have a stake in this marsh....too many cooks spoil the broth and too many environmentalists may be killing the marsh...the California Coastal Conservancy, the Land Trust of Santa Barbara, UCSB and many others have "restored" the marsh....and they keep restoring it..and that's the problem...the  Land Trust of Santa Barbara..a non-profit I'm gonna look into..they got too much money and power

no guns? no birds either!! nice work, UCSB

years ago the City of Carp spearheaded the move to save the marsh and they did a good job with some help from a few agencies....but as the years passed more and more agencies with crazy ideas hijacked the marsh..they went nuts with ripping out non-natives, planting natives, erecting berms, allowing construction....

I think at some point the birds said ENOUGH!!! and just flew away, hoping for the day when these entities would die thus returning the marsh to it's original owners..all the birds- plants- sea creatures that have no issues with nativism or biodiversity but have a huge stake in the marsh's survival..

now I hear from the Coastal View they want the Army Corps of Engineers to"fix" the sand bar issue in Carp.....just like they fixed the beach in Santa Barbara by the wharf?? just like they fixed the levees in Lousiana....

yes, I'm very concerned..

and that one shorebird.... I saw a touch of desperation in her eyes from where I stood...

Corazón

Corazon--mi corazon Corazon--mi corazon Yo te quiero--mi corazon Corazon--mi corazon Yo te quiero--mi corazon

of course I don' shop at Whole Foods because the CEO is an idiot and the whole place is just so phony!! they cater to snobby white folks and the employees are not allowed to speak Spanish on the job because it's "rude"!! and they sell "free-range organic meat"...WTF is that??? it's a total con, that's what!!

by Russell Contreras

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Two employees at a Whole Foods Market store in Albuquerque say that they were suspended last month after complaining about being told they couldn't speak Spanish to each other while on the job -- a claim that the company says was a misunderstanding.

Bryan Baldizan told The Associated Press that he and a female employee were suspended for a day after they wrote a letter following a meeting with a manager who told them Spanish was not allowed during work hours.

"I couldn't believe it," said Baldizan, who works in the store's food preparation department. "All we did was say we didn't believe the policy was fair. We only talk Spanish to each other about personal stuff, not work." He said Whole Foods officials told them about company policy and issued the suspensions.

But Whole Foods Market Inc. spokeswoman Libba Letton said the store launched an investigation based on the claims and determined the employees misunderstood and were not told that they couldn't speak Spanish.

Letton said the two were suspended with pay for being "rude and disrespectful" in an office. "Their suspension was due to their behavior alone," she said in a statement.

However, Ben Friedland, Whole Foods Market Rocky Mountain Region Executive Marketing Coordinator, said the Austin, Texas-based company believes in "having a uniform form of communication" for a safe working environment. "Therefore, our policy states that all English speaking Team Members must speak English to customers and other Team Members while on the clock," Friedland said in a statement. "Team Members are free to speak any language they would like during their breaks, meal periods and before and after work."

Friedland said the policy doesn't prevent employees from speaking Spanish to customers who don't speak English, nor does it prevent them from speaking Spanish if all "parties present agree that a different language is their preferred form of communication." Letton told the AP that in addition to safety reasons, the policy is in place so employees who don't speak Spanish don't feel uncomfortable.

The ordeal comes after New Mexico, the most Hispanic state in the nation, saw two recent cases of Spanish being barred from high school athletic competitions.

Last month, New Mexico Military Institute's Jose Gonzales was penalized a point for speaking Spanish after an on-court official warned him twice to speak only English during a state championship tennis singles match. Sally Marquez, executive director of the New Mexico Activities Association, the governing board for high school sports in the state, said the official was warned not to repeat that action, even though the official was within his right since the association was following the United States Tennis Association rule book during the finals.

In April, an umpire resigned after being accused of trying to ban New Mexico high school baseball players from speaking Spanish during a game. The resignation came after Gadsden Independent School District officials filed a complaint with the association accusing the umpire of telling a first baseman not to speak Spanish during a game in Alamogordo.

Ralph Arellanes, state director of New Mexico League of United Latin American Citizens, said the Whole Foods Market policy violates New Mexico's state constitution, which protects Spanish and American Indian languages. Latino groups will meet soon about a possible boycott of businesses that have similar policies, he said.

a case of you

Oh, you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet
Oh, I could drink a case of you, darling
And I would still be on my feet
Oh, I would still be on my feet.

well I haven't seen Peter Lance in the News-Press for a long time so maybe Wendy and Nipper are done protecting drunk drivers?? nawww...

but I did see in the News-Press (good job, Angel!!) that Martin Maguire, the dude who crashed into the motorcyclists causing irreparable harm to them, the NP says Maguire was high on beer and vicodin...apparently lots of people use this combo to get high...from bodybuilders to trustfunders...

beer and vicodin..alcohol and narcotics...now that is real smart

and I'm always curious about the lawyers who would defend these individuals, ie drunk drivers....we know all about Darryl Genis who is in hiding now..we know how Darryl defends drunk drivers by making them out to be poor l'il victims of a cruel world and police brutality!!

but Martin Maguire's defender is an attorney named Christine Voss...apparently she was fired from her job in Riverside as a public defender because she complained about sexual harrassment, gender discrimination and a bunch of other stuff coming out of the Public Defender's office, which is run by a black dude named Gary Windom....well anyhoo a bunch of shenanigans were going down in Riverside County DA's office and Christine was the only woman who could do something about all the complaints from other lawyers against Windom and his posse of sexist lawyers..the lawsuit contends that one male attorney named Peter Salisis made unwanted sexual advances toward a female in the office..she told him she was engaged and to bugger off, but he sent her a case of wine! what a loser!! no means no dude!!

but the suit goes on and on about all the abuse the gals took from Riverside public lawyers..

whew, I'll be watching this one but I don't know what Christine looks like....I can't find a pic of her anywheres...

so you know what that means? it means I gotta take my own picture of her..and I will come the next hearing for Martin Maguire-6/13/13 with Clifford R Anderson SB10...

vicodin, beer, DUI, sexual harassment, discrimination, a case of wine?? lawyers named Christine defending stoners named Martin??

and Joni singing in my ear: "I am as constant as a northern star."
And I said, "Constantly in the darkness,
Where's that at?
If you want me I'll be in the bar."

the bar Joni? where's that at???

ok judges and lawyers...Hill, Adams, Anderson et al....I don't want any bullshit on this one...no motions to dismiss or move the trial to Santa Maria, no unreasonable searches excuses, no nutjob courtroom theatrics (except from me).... what I do want is a nice long sentence for the stoner Maguire....he owes the victims of his crime...err, alleged crime

I will accept nothing less...

My Generation

talkin' 'bout my g-g-g-generation, baby

ok Andy Caldwell of the News-Press likes to blame the 1960s for all the problems of the world..and the crumbling of the USA..the moral decay....Andy complains about the sixties kids who rebelled against authority..well yeah..why should I let some idiot send me to a war in Asia for no reason?? and the sixties according to Andy gave us an increase in child molesters and gangs and uppity black folk and working women.... the main cause of the disintegration of the white American family

one of Andy's heroes is J. Edgar Hoover..and we know about J. Edgar don't we..he liked to dress up in lady's underwear, the bra and panties and high-heels, and parade around the FBI offices with his boyfriend....that's American family values these faux-Christians are crowing about?? J. Edgar Hoover was a drag queen!!!

alot of conservative faux-Christians do this today-complain about the sixties- and I know why..to hide the abuses of the Catholic Churches..I had to search the Lompoc Record to find out what I already knew: Andy is a devout Christian...on the one hand he's crying about immorality, the next minute he's cheering on the Chumash casino!!

from the Bible: Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

from the Lompoc Record/ 2006: Outside the pubic eye, Caldwell is a devoted family man with seven children between 6 and 16 years old. His wife of nearly 20 years, Linda, home-schools their brood, which Caldwell calls one of the best educations a child can receive.

Andy, if you want your kids to grow up as ignorant as you, keep home-schooling them...home schooling is all about control and fear, not education...you should never let your parents teach you anything! I have never met an intelligent parent...never!!

A devout Christian, Caldwell said he would like to be a preacher one day after he retires from COLAB, and emphasized the importance of always being honest with the public.

While many of COLAB/s members are the most wealthy farming families in the county, those are the same people that started out with nothing and earned every penny in their accounts, Caldwell said. For that reason, many of them continue to support and value the work of every farmworker, he added.

oh Brooks Firestone started with nothing?? he inherited his fortune and will pass it on to his idiot brat son Andrew

and Joe Armendariz gushes about Andy's "integrity"...Armendariz said Caldwell has strong integrity and is always honest with those he represents....

Power to the People, Right On!
so most of what these squares say about the 60s is malarkey....the sixties had some hot spots in the cities but mostly it was just the 'burbs..Pleasant Valley Sundays with a backdrop of war, assassinations and other cool stuff...

and a chance to right some wrongs....what Andy and his naive ilk can't understand is their America never existed, except on TV...Father Knows Best? why did father call daughter "kitten"?? INCEST!!!

but any search into America's history before 1960 will find some pretty disgusting events... we had the KKK racism, segregation and lynchings in the south, the Mafia crime families, the killings in broad daylight of crime bosses..mental institutions run like prison camps....the Roaring Twenties was all about decadence..the Original Decade of Decadence..when our parents were coming of age...when Prohibition was tried and didn't work...alcohol is the number one abused drug in the world and it shows no signs of slowing...

Economic Boom or crazy capitalism
Many Americans experienced economic growth during the 1920s. After World War I, the United States was the wealthiest nation on the planet. No other country could rival its prosperity. Many Americans worked at reasonably high-paying jobs that garnered them a disposable income. Some used the economic boom to set up hire-purchase, which allowed consumers to pay for purchases in installments -- and leading to an increase in consumer debt. The good times were short-lived, and when the stock market crashed in 1929, Americans found themselves headed toward a Great  Depression

Prohibition
In the 1920s, the U.S. government experimented with Prohibition and made the sale and consumption of alcohol illegal. But those who wanted to drink or sell alcoholic beverages found alternatives to the formerly legal channels. Speakeasies, or clubs, provided people a chance to partaken in the forbidden activity. This business lead to organized crime, and gangsters raked in the profits. It was not just the criminals who took part. Prominent citizens and politicians later admitted to also drinking during Prohibition. President Warren G. Harding apparently kept the White House stocked with whiskey even though he had voted for Prohibition while he was a senator.

the 1960s were awesome and especially fun in Santa Barbara..I'm thinking that Andy Caldwell must've had a bad childhood which is why he is so whiny today in the News-Press..always crying about things he can't control...perhaps Andy can put down Ayn Rand for a minute and pick up The Great Gatsby, a book about the decadence of the Roaring Twenties...or check out The Guilty Generation with Boris Karloff which also starred Robert Young from Father Knows Best.... it was about bootleggers!!

the Hays censorship code was instituted to shield Amercans from the realities of the twenties.....

Hays' power came not from his own ability to control the motion picture industry, but by the support he had from the Catholic Church. Like Franklin D. Roosevelt realized in his campaign for president in 1932, the rise to power came with the support of the ethnic minorities of the inner city. Hays saw that he could only maintain his role in charge of policing the film industry by forging an alliance with the increasingly powerful Catholic 'Legion of Decency'. The Legion, created in reaction to Pope Pius XI's demand for "Catholic Action", sought to work within the motion picture industry to regulate immorality on film

ahh yes... there's the Catholic Church again.. all those priests trying to impose their morality on others...don't disobey your "father" they say while molesting little boys

censorship is ignorance..and the 1960s finally busted through all the bullshit

and any decade that can fight censorship, pathetic racism, and produce FM radio and music like the Beatles, the Stones, the Who, the Kinks, the Supremes, Bob Dylan, the Byrds and the Buffalo Springfield, champion civil rights, stop wars and give us guys like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Steve McQueen and films like Bullitt.... is my kinda decade

Universal Soldier

He’s 5 foot 2 and he’s 6 feet 4
He fights with missiles and with spears
He’s all of 31 and he’s only 17.
He’s been a soldier for a thousand years

He’s a catholic, a Hindu, an atheist, a Jain
A Buddhist, and a Baptist and Jew.
And he knows he shouldn’t kill
And he knows he always will kill
Kill you for me my friend and me for you

so we have an American soldier over in Afghanistan who decides to sneak out one night and wipe out two tribal villages..the soldier, Robert Bales, was suffering from PTSS and high on contraband alcohol and valium..he also popped lots of steroids.....

so what was he doing in the army?? and what are we still doing in Afghanistan??

Staff Sgt. Robert Bales has entered a guilty plea to all charges of murdering 16 civilians, including nine children.

At one point, the judge, Col. Jeffery Nance, asked Bales why he killed the villagers.

Bales responded: "Sir, as far as why – I've asked that question a million times since then. There's not a good reason in this world for why I did the horrible things I did."

One of the prosecutors, Lt. Col. Jay Morse, raised concerns during the hearing that the soldier's testimony contradicted what he earlier acknowledged in a signed "stipulation of facts" from that night.

Bales testified Wednesday that he made the decision to kill each victim when he raised his gun and pointed it. But in the stipulation, Bales said he struggled with a woman before killing her and "after the tussle" decided to "murder anyone that he saw."

The judge questioned Bales about it, and Bales confirmed that he decided to kill everyone after struggling with the woman.

A young girl in a bright headscarf described hiding behind her father as he was shot to death. Boys told of hiding behind curtains as others scrambled and begged the soldier to spare them, yelling: "We are children! We are children!" A thick-bearded man told of being shot in the neck by a gunman "as close as this bottle," gesturing to a water bottle on a table in front of him.

He’s the one who must decide,
who’s to live and who’s to die.

and without him all this killing can't go on...

disgusting
