now I've been a fan of Cher since Sonny and Cher...I used to fall asleep as a kid listening to the little red transistor radio under my pillow...two songs kept playing..."The Beat Goes On" and "For What It's Worth"...those aren't silly love songs....it's politics wrapped in nice little spooky tunes...  love those songs to this day....

witchy reported on May 13 that Cher took to Twitter to call out Republicans for their exhaustive and fruitless investigation of the terror attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya last year. The "Believe" singer labeled the ongoing investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives a "witch hunt." Cher is one of the most active celebrities on Twitter and has shown no fear of expressing her opinions on the public forum.


like I said before, America can't protect you if you choose to live in Benghazi, Beirut or Missouri..there's lots of crazy folks out there who want to kill you....when Reagan was president, 200 American soldiers were attacked and killed in Beirut...I was in Beirut once and got shot in the arm by some jumpy gendarme, mistaken for a terrorist....Beirut was crumbling, stone by stone, so I left and so did Reagan....got America the hell outta there...

so the "investigation" of the Benghazi attack that killed 4 American diplomats is over and there was no cover-up by the Obama Administration no matter how hard guys like Darryl Issa wish and hope....Cher was right, it was a GOP political witchhunt, led by the FOX NEWS tabloid cheesy bobbleheads

I thought I was the only one who was watching Wendy McCuckoo and the News-Press but I got one-upped but good by the SB View and Cheri Rae..it appears the SB View has finally given Pearl Chase a rest as I suggested...and now they busted the News-Press for its HORRIBLE reporting..on the front page no less...

I saw the story in the News-Press last week or so and saw the photo of John Muir and knew it wasn't him... but I was too tired to do anythng about it..I'm weary I tell ya, weary..blues weary

I can't do it all you know so Cheri did it ...I know Cheri mixes up her Ps and Qs now and then, but she'll never be as mixed up as Wendy!

But unlike the Times, the local newspaper ran an absurd graphic with the story: they included what they credited a "Courtesy photo" with the caption that read "John Muir." But anyone who has any familiarity at all with John Muir would know that modern-looking image was not a photo of the naturalist himself. so the News-Press reprinted a story from the Tribune News Service...it's about John Muir and his legacy and according to some dimwitted nativist, Muir's legacy should be one of racism and not preserving the great outdoors, esp around Yosemite where he loved to spend time..the article was illogical and absurd...

I don't have time to discuss Muir's legacy or the article in depth - I see it every time I'm hiking- but instead of a real picture of John Muir, the News-Press used a picture of a character actor who played Muir, thinking it was the real John Muir and calling it a "Courtesy Photo".....

it's like doing a story on JFK and using a picture of Rob Lowe who played (badly) JFK in the FOX News Killing Kennedy low energy/low budget production..is it any wonder that Rob is pitching ads for Direct TV nowadays?? who taught you how to act, Rob? so I'm out and about enjoying the rain....I haven't been this wet since I was baptized as a baby! spit on as a child!

but as I venture out into the storm, I see a veritable lake on Via Real by the Peoples Self Help Housing project...I park it and jump outside and slip-slide down the street..I'm on the sidewalk but as cars pass they don't slow down so I get splashed with water! thanks morons!! truck drivers..they look like dumb Mexicans to me..or perhaps Islamic fundamentalists..or maybe even a Frenchman...I hope you're happy amigos..these PSHH projects are the bane of Carpinteria!! the bane!!

but anyway I'm surveying the sitch and I see, just under the water surface what appears to be a storm  drain...and the entrance is under water..this is right in front of Kim's Market and the huge drainage channel...so I'm trying to figure out why anyone would block off a storm drain with sand bags unless they perhaps were an imbecile..

so I call the City of Carp and get the brush off as usual..a recording....then I call the County and they are helpful as usual...Melissa tells me Lash did the sandbags and I need to talk to them...

so I called Lash and the gal says Lash did that because it's the law..contruction sites need to keep sand and debris out of the storm drain..she says the idea is to have the clean water filter through the sand bags...are you fucking kidding me?? I said ok and told her to tell her people and to remove a few bags if they think they can...at least it's on the record thanks to me..

then I see a cop checking out the flood then I see some City of Carp guys checking the storm drain out...so the City of Carp did respond pretty quick...they didn't give me the brush off! I AM SOMEBODY AFTER ALL!!

so they said indeed the sandbags are supposed to keep dirt out of the the storm drains and hence out of the ocean...then they used their shovels to make a hole in the dirt and sand that had squeezed out of the sandbags and were causing some more blockages...

I am astounded..absolutely astounded that there is a law to keep dirt from entering the ocean through the storm drains

but that's what storm drains do..they convey storm run-off to the ocean...the runoff often contains dirt..it has ZERO pollution impact on the ocean waters..none, zip zilch...Nature will take care of it unless someone is pouring tons of acid down the storm drains..but that's not the case here....

then the Carp public works guys leave after rearranging the sand bag berm obstruction at the storm drain entrance...the waters recede into the drain as designed...

so in essence, Lash Construction simply BLOCKED the storm drain creating a flooding hazard. next to residences!! and the City of Carp fixed it for them..

but this law that wishes to save the ocean by stopping storm run-off is just cuckoo...I gotta look into it and the folks who are responsible...because they are reprehensible and they just came into my radar

first off, the Pig Woman from Tennessee resigned from her paid position as communication direstor for a teabagger congressman! fat lazy Elizabeth Lauten directed a cowardly missive at Obama's daughters instead of walking over to the White House and telling the president what she thought...online media offed her so a great big KISS to y'all!!

I've seen some weird DUI cases before....skinny tuxedos, falling asleep at a green light, smashing into trees, smashing into parked cars, even running people down and killing them..but it's ok..the Santa Barbara judges just let you off with a great big KISS!!

drinking booze is big business in SB and even if the cops bust you, you can always run...and  you used to be able to run to the News-Press and tell your tale of woe..and Wendy would print it on the front page and maybe you could get a settlement from the City of Santa Barbara...making a living the old-fashioned way

now in Carp we have Sly's Restaurant, a half-assed attempt at going upscale for the foodie set...but on Dec 5, Sly's will celebrate Repeal Day when Prohibition ended...if they have to advertise booze then the restaurant probably ain't doing so hot...I've seen Sly..he's a big fat slob looking guy and I don't want him blubbering over my food...yuck!! anyone, esp restauarants, who advertises booze is promoting drunk driving... so I may have to pay Sly a little visit on the Dec 5th!

but the weirdest DUI case I've heard is the case of the "sovereign citizens"..two clowns who don't recognize gov't authority..Jeff Lind and Thomas Murphy are their names and I can't find much info on them...one of the guys kid was busted for DUI by the cops and the guy went nuts...threatened the cops and judge...even tried to file a lien on the judge's house in Solvang...ie the clowns threw some tantrums and left a paper trail with a bunch of bogus legal filings...the feds call it "paper terrorism"..I thought that's what the News-Press did...terrorize the readers with stupid news..hahahah!

anyway the two dimwits got jail time from the jury... reminds me of the Seinfeld "Limo" episode with Murphy and O'Brien....now that was a funny one!

it's the Christmas season and people will looking for excuses to drink and drive...being a sovereign citizen that doesn't recognize the law of the USA is one of the stupidest excuses..

but the cops will be busy, I will be busy and you will be busy cleaning up after the drunk bon vivants around town...

it's Black Friday and I saw a black dude in Santa Barbara a few days ago...he looked pretty suspicious like he was gonna steal something...blacks folks have a had tough week but take heart...if pretty blonde Heidi Klum likes black guys, then you dudes got something to live for..hey I like pretty blondes, too!!

and there's lots of Christians out there and we know all about them and their little schemes...but what about Buddhism? I became interested in the Buddha when I heard Jethro Tull do Dharma for One on their first album...I figured if Buddhism is good enough for Jethro, then dang it's ok by me...

so I studied it and read the mags and followed the nuns and the fat Asian fellas in red robes..I've never seen a Buddhist monk in a pair of jeans...or a nun in a bra...but then the Dalai Lama never made much sense to me..an old bald Chinese guy with a bad case of the giggles..how could he enlighten me? then Richard Gere got involved with the Dalai Lama and what the world doesn't need is another enlightened actor...

I picked up a News-Press on Thanksgiving and it fell out of my hands with a thud..it was heavy..filled with ads and glossy circulars for Black Friday...Buddhism talks about circular things..ie things that go round in circles alot...like Andy Caldwell's take on Thankgiving in the Guest Editorial...according to Andy, we Americans seek dependence on God as part of our unalienable rights...Andy got me there....a Zen riddle perhaps

I was watching Casablanca a few nights ago...living in California, I too came for the waters, but was misinformed! and Bogey was sitting at the smokey bar trying to drink Ingrid Bergman off his mind...geez what's up with blonde chicks..but it was intense.. I tried to do that once...didn't work..and I heard that Buddhist monks get drunk once a year just to dance away the cobwebs....
