Mercy Mercy Me

Oh, mercy mercy me Oh, things ain't what they used to be No, no

so the City of Carp is gonna chop down a grand old eucalyptus tree over at the historic Heath Park and Abode on Eucalyptus street..over by all those tract homes...it's a very beautiful area with mountain views and lots of sunshine

but the one tree that strikes fear in city officials is the eucalyptus....all the myths about being dangerous and killing people are just nonsense..in fact, the euc is less dangerous than the oak trees...ironically, an oak tree branch recently fell on two people in Ojai, injuring them..one was a kid...are they gonna chop down all the oaks now? no...

but this is about city liability and not public safety...so I went over to Heath Park and felt a sense of peace under the great, giant eucalyptus trees..they are beautiful...and people and kids were playing in the park...pretty girls..I was not afraid

my God all they gotta do is maintain the eucs but fear and hysteria rules sometimes and the victim will be a big eucalyptus tree...and of course the Monarch butterflies will suffer..saw many and some were digging the Mexican sage..so that's good!!

but this is partly due to the nativist idiots who want to replace every non-native plant and flower in California with a native one...they don't realize that NATURE will disperse seeds in the wind with no care of native or non-native...so this call for getting rid of non-natives is pure folly...

I love the eucalyptus...so do the owls, hawks, butterflies and countless other species

and that's all that really matters
