when the City of Santa Barbara comes up with a cockamamie idea of turning Cabrillo Blvd into Oceanside, you know the city has too many employees sitting around dreaming up cockamamie schemes...and messing with Cabrillo Blvd at East Beach is a dumb idea..

they want to have one lane in either direction and put in angled parking to replace parallel parking..I HATE ANGLED PARKING!!!
this area is fine the way it is..plenty of parking by the Pavillion and I've long enjoyed parking by the side of the road to check out the Bird Refuge or Hugee's palace...quick and easy and it's good spot to park and eat a burger and watch the gals play volleyball...it's beautiful!!!
the folks who live in the area are upset that the City is pulling a fast one here...so the idea is going back to the traffic engineers for modification...but there is no reason to fix what is not broken..Cabrillo Blvd has a certain ambiance from years of good times driving back and forth between Montecito and Santa Barbara..that road has yielded wonderful memories!!
the new hires at the City of Santa Barbara don't understand this..if they like Oceanside so much, they should move there
and leave Cabrillo Blvd alone for us to enjoy
