the King of Nothing...

all is fair in love and war...

ok so Craig Smith is reporting that some News-Press writers are trying to decertify the Teamster's union...but is anyone surprised? the reason the union was brought in years ago was because of Wendy's erratic handling of the Rob Lowe incident....and lately Craig is starting to report more on the News-Press after a lull...maybe he and Katich are feuding....didn't Katich steal Craig's ex-wife away? or viceyversa? what kind of gal would marry Craig Smith, divorce him and marry Don Katich, or vicey versa?? I'll try to get an interview with her..maybe she's the key to all of this!!!

and most of the Starshine era reporters in the newsroom are long gone...Wendy hired guys like Gerry Fall and members of the Young Miss America Foundation which she practically owns... all major suck ups and it's a fact that the News-Press is a shadow of its former self....it is Wendy's vanity rag so you work there at your own peril....it's like the British heirarchy..and face it the Brits have gotten awfully boring since the British Invasion took us by storm and Diana died....there was a royal wedding recently but I can't name the bride and groom....

so the News-Press operates in a faux nobility hierarchy...money and titles and fluff..Wendy is the Queen and Nipper is the King..Gerry Fall is now the Duke of Earl... Scott is the Viscount..and Baron Ron Heron is the Baron..or something like that

so you see, the union may have no place in the current News-Press because being a sports writer is not exactly a job of any importance...hell I could be a sports writer..here's an example:

Red Sox Suck.... by MVC

two strikes and no balls

the Angels and Red Sox played a game at Fenway that was interrupted by rain..the game lasted about four hours....maybe five I don't know because I fell asleep..the Angels won...

the next day they played in the afternoon and the Red Sox looked like they were still asleep...Big Papi looked like Big PooPoo...and the cathcer Saltallamachia can't throw to second base so they steal on him alot..he must be a Ukranian or gay.....take your mind off your boyfriend and play baseball goddammit!! the Red Sox lost again and despite paying some new guys 145 million dollar contracts, they are still 14 and 17...last place..they suck...

there.. see I can be sports writer too and I don't have to kiss Wendy's ass to do it!!

ohh my eyes...dr my eyes.....but I fweel like singin' somehow....so I posted this and..is it morning yet???

cancel my subscription...

to the resurrection...

hey I was thinking..really!! why don't we set some goals! it's important to set goals...in hockey, goals are important...soccer too..

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!

instead of just making fun of peeps...I think we should be goal oriented not that the peeps we make fun of aren't well deserving, but after seeing the News-Press circulation numbers of 25000, I figured why not shoot for 10000! it's like shorting a stock..betting on a drop in price, or in this case, drop in readership, interest, credibility, relevance, and overall worth..and the News-Press wants you to get them..if you read the paper closely you'll find little clues... and we know what a Travis mugshot looks like, how about Steepleton's mugshot ...

as a matter of fact, I will be providing mugshots of all Team Wendy members soon..

now speaking of resurrections, I hear that former News-Press publisher before Wendy has gone to work for one of Wendy's rivals, Sarah Miller-McCune...this according to the Pac Coast Business Times.. I guess you could say I'm an aggregator now! hey, why work when others will do it for you!! see, Wendy has taught me something!!

Miller-McCune magazine said May 4 that it has appointed former Santa Barbara News-Press and Boston Globe Publisher P. Steven Ainsley as its president and publisher.
Ainsley was president of the News-Press from 1993 to 1999, while the newspaper was still owned by the New York Times Co. He also headed up the Times’ regional media group.

and that was back when the News-Press was a good newspaper!

when the music's over, turn out the lights.....

taxes death and trouble....

ok we smokin' (sumthin!) now!

so Lanny Ebenstein continues to write editorials in the News-Press about money woes, interest rates, taxes, inflation, double dip recession (is that like a double dip chocolate ice cream cone?) and a few other things...this must be the reason why the News-Press circulation numbers keep dropping!!

Today, the News-Press had a Monday-Friday combined average circulation of 25000, in 2009 it was 27,576, in 2007 it was 38000 ..in 2000, circulation was 45,389 daily according to the Audit Bureau of Circulation Publisher's Statement.

good job Wendy!!

anyhoo, Lanny says we shouldn't raise taxes then says we should increase taxes on people whose pensions are over $100000....he worries about inflation and rising interest rates...look, Lanny, if you had any brains, your houses in Eureka wouldn't be in foreclosure! I bet you bought them, not knowing the value of a dollar, and got an ARM , then when the interest rates rose, you couldn't afford to pay right...well interest rates are low so anyone buying can get in, but make sure it's a fixed rate or you'll end up like Lanny!

Now, the only reason he writes these editorial recitations about money is to show his economist daddy how much he loves him!! well the economy is on the upswing..Ford and GMC are showing profits, people are buying cars..those cars have Sirius XM satellite radios installed..if you bought SIRI at 80 cents, it's now at about $2.00 a share....that's how you make some money baby!!!

or you can get it from mommy and daddy, like Lanny does and mommy Wendy says Lanny is president of the new California Center for Public Policy..a non-profit that needs your donations....I wonder where those donations really go...so I see among the CCPP board members are Joe Armendariz, Frank Hotchkiss, Tom Watson, Dan Secord and Mike Stoker..hey, all members of TEAM WENDY.....no surprise there...

and this is the strategy: write anti union editorials in the News-Press to push their anti-worker initiative

and here's their proposed amendment
INITIATIVE
Proposed amendment to the California state constitution by Californians for Public Union Reform reads as follows:
Article 14, Section 6. Prohibition of Collective Bargaining
No state, county, municipal, or like government officer, agent, or governing body is vested with or possesses any authority to recognize any labor union or other employee association as a bargaining agent of any public officers or employees, or to bargain collectively or to enter into any collective bargaining contract, memorandum of understanding, or other agreements with any such union or association or its agents with respect to any matter relating to public officers or employees or their employment or service.

..and if the CCPP raises enough money to put it on the ballot, the fun will have just begun....I'll keep an eye on these punks, but the initiative sounds like it was written by a hack lawyer..maybe Stoker wrote it because it says that municipalities possess "no authority to bargain with employees"... sure they do...otherwise it's discrimination! and you don't need special authority.. the initiative doesn't say the cities can't negotiate contracts! doesn't say anything about strikes which can happen without collective bargaining..if this thing passes, it will unleash a Pandora's Box of trouble for the conservatives as they lose support of cops, deputies..they already lost the firefighters, teachers, nurses and other public service workers..

good job, Lanny!!!

who'll stop the rain...

California is a fine place for business...unless you're a moron like the News-Press

the News-Press has dredged up an old story and put it on the front page..for anti-California political purposes of course...and that story is about Carl's Jr and the CEO of CKE Restaurants Andrew Puzder..the gist is CKE is based in Carpinteria, but has been threatening to move to Texas to escape regulations....please take the News-Press with you...
I've covered this before but it's worth mentioning again: the reason for Carl's Jr poor sales is competition...the other burger companies are simply better than Carl's Jr..years ago I enjoyed a meal there..fried zuchinni and a chicken sandwich was very good..since Puzder took over, the company has declined..stupid ads, bad food, and overpriced...

look, the guy is a moron...and here's proof....when you think of Carl's Jr, what comes to mind...NOTHING!! when you think of Burger King, you think of the Whopper; McDonald's, you got the the Big Mac; Jack in the Box, I got the Jumbo Jack right here..brand recognition!! the other guys are better business people, that's all....

Puzder is another example of an overpaid CEO running a business into the ground and blaming others..and to use Texas as a model of a good business environment is simply dishonest...a real look at the Texas will show a state that is being run by fools....Gov Rick Perry recently declared "three days of prayer for rain" in drought stricken Texas!

from Thomas Elias:
And after hiding the truth for more than a year, Texas state government now admits to a two-year budget deficit of $25.5 billion, similar to California's shortfall on a per-capita basis.
The Texas budget gap comes to about 30 percent of the state budget; California's to less than one-fourth of recent yearly spending.

Things are so tough that ever-lax Texas has begun cracking down on Internet retailers, demanding they pay sales tax if they have a physical presence in the state. This caused Amazon.com to close its lone Texas warehouse, the retail giant griping about an "unfavorable business climate" — the same words Texans use while trying to lure California businesses.

The Texas troubles are largely driven by the "supply side" economic beliefs of Perry and other Republican leaders in that solidly "red" state, who have long been convinced their government could survive and thrive with the third-lowest tax rates in the nation, when levies on income, sales and property are combined. Lower taxes, they've argued, would lead to more business growth and more jobs, producing more actual tax dollars for the state budget than would higher rates....they were wrong...

California on the other hand has a fantastic environment....and yet some conservative business people are seeking Rick Perry's advice!! Perry keeps coming to California to try to get California businesses to move to Texas..well, you can have Carl's Jr and take the Putzner with you...which hopefully will be the final nail in the coffin for the bad burger!!

the Polish Wanderer...

a readers' poll?? a questionnaire? a test? a pop quiz? a push poll??

ok..I don't do Poles unless they are extremely atttractive..however, the News-Press has a reader poll as MY READERS pointed out on Sunday's front page that asks HER readers some fearful questions about City Hall and city employees... polls of course are for idiots and Wendy is trying to see if there are any scaredy cat people out there as biased against gov't employees and afraid of a possible crime wave breaking out if any more city employees retire with pensions as she is...ughhhh!! misery love company..really, if you look at it, it's not a poll, but a questionairre...actually a multiple choice..a test!! she's giving us a pop quiz!! or maybe, knowing how Team Wendy operates, it's really just a push poll...A true push poll is not a poll at all. It is a telemarketing smear masquerading as a poll...yes I believe that's what it is..a push poll from Team Wendy....who just lost a member: Osama Bin Laden!!

so here's an example of the News-Press push poll, each requiring a yes or no answer....

if public safety budgets are cut and crime increases, would you support a recall of city council candidates? yes___ no____

is the city budget deficit the result of misplaced priorites or mismanagement yes____ no_____

should giant moths replace city planners? yes____ no_____

well, I got a little push poll of my own requiring a yes, no or fuck off

do you think Wendy is Cuckoo for Coco Puffs? yes_____ no____ fuck off______

do you think Nipper eats doo doo yes____ no_____ fuck off_____

do you think the News-Press building has rats in the basement? yes____ no____ fuck off____

do you think you could send me a picture of the traps? yes____ no______ fuck off______

do you think Lanny Ebenstein is a knucklehead? yes______ no_______ fuck off______

do you think some Santa Barbara business owners are a bunch of pussies who want gov't to hold their hand? yes_____ no_____ fuck off______

do you think Nipper makes enough money to drive Bentley? yes___ no____ fuck off_____

do you support repealing Wendy's divorce settlement? yes______ no______ fuck off______

so I would suggest that when you answer Wendy's questions, you include the "fuck off" option..

if public safety budgets are cut and crime increases, would you support a recall of city council candidates? yes___ no____ fuck off______

now, let's wait and see who's dumb enough to take the News-Press poll seriously.....

American Idiot...

it's a green day baby....

ok, I get to page 3 and there's a story by News-Press correspondent Brett Leigh Dicks about Uncle Nipper in China, attending a water summit. He's the keynote speaker of China's Ministry of Environmental Protection's World Golden Headwater Cycle Summit in Bejing...

apparently Nipper is a water expert because he drinks bottled water and some dudes invited him to speak about the bottled water industry in China..of course I googled the Headwater Summit and found nothing....so I figured something was amiss...going to China to promote bottled water under the guise of protecting health and the environment sounds a little fishy to me....

Nipper is not a water expert, he's a saleman..a peddler..a vendor.. I bought some mineral water yesterday for this blog post...it's in plastic bottle, it contains "mountain spring water" (tap water), and some carbonation....being a bottled water expert means absolutely nothing....it's like Arnold Schwarzenegger saying he's an ass expert because he groped some women, or Rob Lowe saying he's a sex expert because he molested an underage girl...

however, there are water experts who have studied water science and other applicable disciplines- if you know the details of storage, treatment and conveyance of water, if you are state certified water treatment plant operator, then I'll call you a water expert..otherwise you're just Wendy's waterboy....marketing bottled water to people who don't know any better....

but students, who the News-Press doesn't think should be allowed to vote, know better....

Our Schools Our Selves.

By Andrea Harden and Karl Flecker -
Picture this.
You are standing in a pristine natural surrounding – lush green vegetation, vibrantly coloured wild flowers, birds are singing in harmony. Nearby, a babbling brook unspoiled and safe for drinking.
Now picture yourself paying $1.50 for this refreshing and pristine water packaged in a convenient plastic bottle. This is the image that the bottled water industry is conveying in expensive advertising campaigns, and we’re buying it. Today close to one-fifth of the population in Canada relies exclusively on bottled water for their daily hydration. Bottled water is now outpacing the consumption of coffee, tea, apple juice and milk in Canada. Strange to consider that just ten years ago most people took their drinking water directly from the tap!

So why has bottled water become such a popular fad? Is it truly healthy, safe and convenient? These are the questions that a growing number of student, environmental, consumer, municipalities, and faith-based groups are asking. What is really ‘inside the bottle’?

The Big 4 bottled water corporate players are recognizable corporations – Nestle, Coca-Cola Danone and Pepsi. These corporations face a unique marketing challenge. Unlike other industries that transform valuable resources like timber, minerals, oil, and gas into new products, bottled water is simply water transformed into water.
Slick marketing promotes bottled water as healthy safe and convenient. Consider what Jeff Caso, a Nestle executive has to say about their bottled water products; “We sell water, so we have to be clever.” The marketing of water both implicitly and explicitly as superior to the alternative (tap water) has been key to the promotion of this image. The following quote from an industry website, bottledwaterweb.com,(NIPPER'S SITE) aptly sums up this process: “An unfortunate consequence of learning about the many drawbacks and dangers of tap water is that, now, when we turn our taste buds to bottled water, we have a long list of “don’t wants,” but a hazy idea of what we do want in our water. We’re just learning. Understanding all the bottled water option is the first step to take as we begin to wean ourselves off of tap water.”

This image can be deconstructed. Paradoxically, both Dasani (Coke’s water label) and Aquafina (Pepsi Co’s) are simply reprocessed tap water. Consumers are paying inflated prices for something they have already paid for through their own municipal taxes – quality tap water. It has simply been filtered, mineralized (in Coke’s case), bottled, and neatly packaged for sale. Bottled water corporations like to imply that these ‘proprietary’ treatment processes are elaborate thereby justifying the higher cost of their products (bottled water is between 240 and 10,000 times more expensive than tap water).

and...we all know about the environmental damage plastic bottles do.... the USA is hip to that fact..but in China, the environment is not exacty a priority...China's environmental woes are mounting, and the country is fast becoming one of the leading polluters in the world. The situation continues to deteriorate because even when Beijing sets ambitious targets to protect the environment, local officials generally ignore them, preferring to concentrate on further advancing economic growth. Really improving the environment in China will require revolutionary bottom-up political and economic reforms.

that's right ..they have more pollution than they know how to fix...that's what happens when real water treatment is not a priority.....and the reason why we owe China so much money is because we have too many American idiots like Nipper running around... running around with Wendy's money, with a bottle of water in his hand, trying to look important....and promoting more economic pollution....

now... can anyone explain what the water cycle is??
