geez a few weeks ago it was warm and sunny, I was sitting at the beach and girls were stripping in front me...
but things change.....

ooooh, it's cold outside! I went to check some cut trees around Santa Claus Lane and then realized it was the annual toy run today Sunday...Christmas is all about good tidings and good will so no wonder this toy run is so popular... even though Dr. Laura tried to destroy it one year, it remains a fun thing..oh I know it's for the Unity Shoppe and the celebrities, but the motorcylists do it for the kids...

but while  I waited for the run to start, I checked out what Caltrans did..they chopped down a few big beautiful pine trees and pulled out some cattails from the ditch, or little wetlands as the enviros may call it....whatever, the damage is done by the clodheads at Caltrans...cattails I've loved since a wee boy..they are just cool...so why destroy them? especially since they can clean or purify water in the ditches..."Many people consider cattails an undesirable weed that needs to be exterminated but the plant is actually a very beneficial one that can clean water naturally just by growing in it. Besides being a beautiful swamp plant the cattail can purify water of toxins. but what about his veteran status? isn't he a hero for fighting for us in Iraq..for protecting our freedom?? well, no..no hero status..the rightwingers want to make all the veterans out to be heroes, but it aint so...these are Bush's wars..Afghanistan and Iraq....there's nothing that protects my freedom in these invasions

we are out of Iraq now but still stuck in  Afghanistan...what for? the Taliban? any army could have dispatched those Taliban psychos in six months...what is the problem? you go in, have a mission then you get out..you don't hang around for ten years....

these other guys aren't heroes..they join the army with little education so they can mate with a rifle or because they can't do anything else.... they go kill some ragheads, they come home....some blown to bits, others crazy...and they wonder why...well because when we invade countries with no purpose, we can expect they will fight back..and they do.....this is not what our military is for!!!

now there's a few stories about Raymond Morua on the internet..one at Noozhawk paints a picture of a guy who came back from Iraq with no skills...

being a war veteran is something you may do as an American...war and peace...you deal with it...but it's not an excuse for being a drunk...and there's no excuse for our leaders abusing the military by starting these stupid invasions...

Lois and Raymond bring shame to the American flag

well.....geez now Team Lois can't stay sober? the reports that her assistant was allegedly busted for DUI, that he hit someone bad and ran and  later he smashed into a tree in downtown Santa Barbara ... just despicable...what a dumbass

KEYT broke the story and this is just another example of the drug problem in Santa Barbara...alcohol is a drug..the most abused and dangerous of them all...of course, all this will be swept under the rug so the bars can keep plying addicts with alcohol...a never-ending cycle..

weird- the gal he hit is Mallory Rae Dies (that's her name!) and she's a bartender at the Tonic Nightclub...I swear there's a little subculture of booze in SB!

then I hear some nutjobs went bar hopping to celebrate the end of Prohibition...two guys started this nonsense a few years ago but at least this time they hired a cab company because the activities they engage in leave them shit-faced and unable to drive...like the Lois Capp's rep

and the last straw is Morua was leaving a party hosted by the Independent??? that's what Noozhawk reported...then the Indie reports that this loser Morua has had prior DUIs and hit and runs!! so why did Lois hire him?? maybe she is responsible!

I'm sitting at the computer when I hear a bunch of noise outside..not the highway noise, but  bird noise..singing tweeting chirping, tep-tep-tepping..I sneak out to the balcony and see a bunch of little colorful birds flying around crazy..they are on the big sycamore, they are walking on the stucco walls.. it's like the little birds are all drunk! ....my neighbor must've spiked the bird feeder...

don't drink and fly this holiday season..it's very dangerous...

so I try to snap some shots but the birds are moving fast and their little bodies are all jittery....RELAX!! I whisper... but to to avail...must be a genetic thing

I check my field guide and they look to be Townsend's Warblers..must be migrating like the monarch butterflies...but I've never seen a Townsend warbler before so it was a trip to see them in the flesh, or the feather in this case....they motored down from Washington and points north and stopped to hang out here, with me...after five minutes they were gone....

I hope they come back..if not I hope they find what they're looking for...

you see, I've emailed Wendy dozens of times asking her this and that but my emails keep coming back...I even sent her some envelope type letters asking her to explain some things but those letters keep coming back, too...if I was in love with her which I'm not I might feel rejected and develop a lonely complex or something, but Wendy can't do that to me..a few other girls had that kinda power over me, but not Wendy....because I don't love Wendy...I hate her..if she died today, I'd piss on her grave

so you remember my observations about Gerry Fall, the newly promoted Sports Editor at the News-Press...after about 7 years, Wendy promoted him...Gerry took the lead in trying to get rid of the union and realized that kissing Wendy's ass will get you promoted quicker than actual deserving or working for it...
ok. so now  I hear the NLRB is dogging Wendy again for anti-union activities...Barney Brantingham had the news and Barney would know..my interest in all this is when former editor Travis Armstrong would write editorials lying about gov't workers...and unions....I had no  issues with Wendy one way or another up until then..then the Rob Lowe fiasco, then a bunch of other stuff and I realized she was cuckoo, hence Wendy McCuckoo

faggy Indian Travis was busted for DUI because he couldn't figure out he was driving the wrong way up a one way street in Santa Barbara..what a dumbass! He was Wendy's favorite queer and she's been mad at the City and the cops ever since for arresting her/him/it!! hahah

so I left to check out the Lobero restoration progress....there's this big white Ford SUV following me closely,  tailgating me, so I pull over on Anacapa  and park, he pulls over and parks in the red zone.. I jump outta my truck, ready to busta rhyme with his head on the sidewalk then I see he's a big fat greasy Mexican deputy! one of Sheriff Bill Brown's gorillas...

and heads to the post office to mail some letters. I didn't think the CA exempt status on his Ford was for running errands.... geez.. I got my eye on you big boy...

I head over to the Lobero.....they got the brick steps in and some terraced plantings going on...red brick steps? is that normal??

I saw the olive trees...it seems they reduced the grass area in favor of concrete so you can't lounge around as much before the doors open...it's less inviting...this is not good especially since I plan on seeing the awesome Shawn Colvin at the Lobero in January....if there's a wine concession in front I WILL SLAY THEM!!! maybe a few big pine trees would help
but the Lobero seems..diminished somehow

Fields of Athenry..

drunk drivers are bad news

I heard that song a week ago...sung by a street kid in Ireland...I heard it at the tail end of a movie I'd never seen before..about a reporter fighting the brutal drug wars in Ireland..and how kids should be treated with the dignity they deserve..the kid's voice...well, it shook me up

when you get into a car and drive drunk, with kids in the car..are you treating your kids with dignity?? no

and I'd like to get away from drunk drivers but they keep showing up in the news...I could focus on more wonderful things, like the beautiful warm weather we're having thanks to global warming and the oil industries burning fossil fuels, just hope we don't run outta those!

and the weather is nice for driving, biking and hiking....cold nights and warm days, that's the ticket! and of course I took advantage of the global warmth and found myself in a dry creek bed among some big beautiful eucalyptus, the prefered tree of hawks, butterflies and me....and they got these pretty little white flower blossoms I never really noticed before...bees were goin' crazy....

whenever I'd visit Santa Monica or Venice, I take the Pacific Coast Highway..it's true you have to pass through Oxnard but it's well worth the risk..on a perfect southern California day, there's nothing like driving down to Malibu..I used to own property down there, but lost it in a poker game...


I keep thinking about this dude Levi Saks and his plight to recover from being hit by an alleged drunk driver in Malibu...his pup Marley was taken to a shelter and put up for adoption! not sure what will happen there...I guess the family will claim Marley.....

can Darryl save Anna??

and the allegedly drunk lady, Anna Caldwell...I wonder what will become of her? what will become of poor Anna who chose to allegedly drive drunk with a kid or two in her SUV and then plow into Levi? getting into a car and driving drunk is a passive-aggressive act of violence...if it results in harming someone, the drunk can blame the booze...now what will happen when Anna goes to court..will she get a good DUI lawyer who can get her off with a fine? who is Anna? is this the Anna? I don't know.. I can only speculate

but can you imagine going down to Malibu today in this beautiful weather and getting smashed into by a drunk like Anna Caldwell? can you imagine being a kid in her car??
