the walk of life

the elections are coming up...and the various media outlets are endorsing their pet candidates..I of course don't have any pets....

the Montecito Journal is "praying" that Romney/Ryan win....I pray that Obama wins and wipes their asses for them...hey my pal Richard Mineards said that Drew Barrymore was at "Three Pickles" picking up sandwiches! I didn't see Drew but I did see her truck..she must work for them!

the News-Press is endorsing all conservatives and teabaggers and nutjobs...last time around Wendy and Nipper endorsed birther queen POA Orly Taitz! the closest thing we got to Orly Taitz is Lou Segal who's running for a spot on the SB School board....the MJ endorses him!!

Lou is anti union, spends lots of time over at Noozhawk making dumb comments supporting Tony DeNunzio for driving drunk and hitting teens... and Lou says today's kids are stupid...of course that's not true because Lou is a moron and I know that any 7th grader knows more about computers than Lou ever will...this jackass has no business anywhere near school kids!!

Lois Capps and Abel seem to be locked in a fight with both having dodged the taxman and getting caught...whose excuse do I believe? hmmmm

in Carp, all the candidates are good..really..I don't have a problem with any of them ceptin Water Board gal June Van Wingerden...the water district is staffed by great and talented people so let's get the same on the water board! the Van Wingerdens sold out to a Russian billionaire and are teabaggers! send June back to the greenhouse..

I support ag and greenhouses but not June and her nutty politics....

But why would the Van Wingerdens sell? We asked family spokesman (and GrowerTalks columnist) Abe Van Wingerden of Metrolina Greenhouses in North Carolina.
"Easy," Abe replied. "Mike [as Prokhorov is known in close circles] was willing to pay us each probably ten times what our businesses are worth. We get to continue operating them as we always have, and best of all he’s going to provide all the Russian natural gas that we need for winter heat—no more messing around with woodchips and biofuel. He will be paying all our production costs, so we will basically be growing for free. It was a deal the family just couldn’t pass up."

the new water board slate looks good and Alexandra is pretty and a Carp ranch gal whereas June is kinda gross looking...her little Dutch boy haircut and the giggly whiney voice and the phony "What it Means to be an American" billboard signs on her property are gettin' on my nerves...
let the water board seek its own level!!

Just spotted this old post. Hope June Van Wingerden didn't suffer because of it: that piece about the Van Wingerdens selling out to a Russian billionaire was an April Fool's item I wrote. - Chris Beytes, editor, GrowerTalks
