wrong end of the rainbow

I know this feeling from somewhere, I know I've been here before. The one I love forever doesn't love me anymore. So here I am heartache. My only friend, wrong end of the rainbow again

 

 the only real surprise in Tuesday's primary election was....well there were no surprises...however there was an irony..Measure M lost...teabagger Peter Adam up in God's country thought it would bea good idea to float an initiative that required the county maintain the status quo regarding road maintenance...it was a convoluted anti-union measure disquised as a road maintenance initiative...rookie mistake and the voters rejected it... instead they maintained the status quo by electing all the liberals!! see? irony

even with the Ribbon of Shame gone and an open primary, the conservatives lost big, weighed down by wet tea bags around their necks

but  I see Chris Mitchum beat Justin Fareed who beat Dale Francisco to challenge Lois Capps in November...Chris is Robert Mitchum's son and of course Robert Mitchum was a genius..so the name helps.....Dale got beat by Justin? wow!! good job, Justin!

Dale's persona as the ultra-conservative Mr. Rogers type just didn't project outward from his little neighborhood bubble...low energy is bad for a politician....

Janet Wolf beat Roger Aceves handily....I think the ad showing Roger walking on the beach with his big beer belly hanging out was..uh..incongruent

Bill Brown beat wife Sandra Brown for Sheriff...no sex for Bill for awhile!!

Kamala Harris won AG..Orly Taitz ran but came in next to last...

speaking of the status quo, the News-Press guest editorial writers Lanny and Andy called all the races wrong..their lack of political acumen is stunning....how long can Wendy publish a newspaper that is always wrong? that is always seemingly losing money? that is always on the wrong end of the rainbow???

seven weeks after launching a new Los Angeles newspaper amid great fanfare, the Orange County Register's parent company, Freedom Communications Inc., is showing signs of financial distress.

The Santa Ana company said Tuesday that it is merging the Long Beach Register, a newspaper launched in August, into its Los Angeles counterpart and imposing immediate two-week furloughs companywide, to be taken by the end of July.

Other cost-cutting measures include shrinking the number of news pages 25% and offering buyouts, as a precursor to potential layoffs. Newsroom personnel were told the company planned to cut up to 100 jobs.

"The major red flag here is the immediate furloughs," said Ken Doctor, a media analyst for Outsell Inc. "It screams out: We don't have enough cash to make payroll."
