so the friends and family of Mallory Dies want a plaque to remember her by...and that's a good idea ... they are working with the City of Santa Barbara to realize this goal....I read this on Noozhawk.. I also read that local celeb Paula Lopez was close to a plea deal in her DUI case..geez, drunks sure do waste alot of taxpayer time and money..and lives

Mallory of course was killed by Lois Capps' lover Raymond Morua one night in Santa Barbara..Morua was really drunk and ran down Mallory...then he fled and crashed into a tree..no sober or sane person would do this...
so we know now drinking and driving is dangerous...both the News-Press and Noozhawk were anti-cop and pro drunk driver....Noozhawk has matured a bit but the News-Press has remained pro-booze mainly because Nipper peddles the stuff
the City of SB cops had an aggressive DUI team that kept drunks off the road...then when they pulled over creeps like Peter Lance and Tony Dununzio, the drunks tried to run the asylum...Lance went to the News-Press to write a 5-part series on himself after he got busted for DUI and tried in vain to blame the cops instead of being a man and accepting responsibility for his DUI..and Denunzio was just a mess but still got the city to pay him $100000 for his rough arrest...then Denunzio goes and gets drunk at the Harbor and gets arrested AGAIN!!!
I mean this is all just so stupid..the News-Press, Lance and drunk-lovin' attorney Darryl Genis all had a hand in killing Mallory Dies!! these cocktail-addicted turdbrains don't want cops pulling over drunk drivers and that's why Mallory Dies got killed...the Lance-News-Press slimeball effort to sabotage the cops ability to pull people over probably made Raymond more brazen in his drunk driving! and the irony is Peter wrote another series in the News-Press about Mallory and Morua, not because of drunk driving or killing someone, but because Raymond worked for Lois Capps, an arch enemy of Wendy McCuckoo!!!
maybe they should erect a statue in De La Guerra Plaza showing Wendy, Peter Lance, Darryl, Nipper, Scott and a yellow dog...

Why won't the media release the toxicology report done on Mallory Dies the night she was struck while crossing the street? Providing these facts might finally put to rest the rumors that continue to circulate.
Usually if you want a plaque to honor someone you make an "in memory of" donation to an organization that has an area for such memorials. To put a plaque on a street because someone died there is asking too much. Find and support a public facility, like a street bench or museum sidewalk and donate. I certainly hope they aren't asking the city to contribute. And I hope they don't plan on decorating our streets like Mexico with little memorials on the streets and highways. If you want to remember your daughter, do it in your own hearts because it's meaningless to others.
As far as the News Press, they should build a memorial to incompetence and bad taste. Maybe a statue of a dollar sign painted yellow. Stick it on the Reagan Ranch, though, so it's out of sight.
I see many similarities between the current Republican candidacy race and the News Press. A big pushy person who inherited (won in divorce) millions bullies their way into control and proceeds to leave everything around them in tatters with no regard for the rules, decorum, or common sense. It is ironic that the GOP flag waving News Press was destroyed by the means that its beloved party is now disintegrating before its eyes. A lesson: Having money doesn't make you any smarter, it just makes you more eccentric, spoiled, and willing to tear apart decent things in the name of selfishness.
