the hissing of summer lawns

court and spark

Corbett and lawyer
well it was clammy this morning..the lawns were hissing..the air was moist and warm with a dash of dew-like fog mixed in for good measure...I stared into the ocean's sweaty face...yes, something fishy was up today..then I remembered that the News-Press, the paper I used just last night to gut and clean a trout... this paper sent its lawyer to the court house to waste taxpayers' time money trying to get Santa Barbara police officer Mark Corbett to turn over his notes to them...notes from a trial that is over and Corbett was not a part of!!

this little hearing today has serious implications for everyone's right to privacy..I mean can a nutty newspaper owner who is used to buying influence just come in and demand your private stuff for no good reason??? of course not, as we'll see

so I took three showers with bleach to kill the fish smell and darted like a barracuda over to the Court House...got there at 8:00 sharp..no one here but me...I sit down outside my fave courtroom SB2...Judge Brian Hill presiding today..uh oh I thought to myself....I should plan to be here for the whole day.... then more folks arrived....Officer Corbett with his lawyer...

Scott Steepleton from the News-Press came up the stairs looking like something out of "Night of the Living Dead"... I was frightened but then he flashed a peace sign at me...perhaps signaling they want a truce.. no way...my mission is to *NEUTRALIZE THE NEWS-PRESS*

I was a little sleepy and started trippin' on the metal detector lights but passed through it ok..that dude on the other side looked like a big grizzly bear!

trippin'
I headed inside...I've been in SB2 before and sat in my designated seat...Scott sat in his seat across the room...then the gals started pouring in and they all stuck their fingers down their throats to send me a little message... I just sighed..

then a guy who looks like Timothy McVeigh sits next to me.. I swear I was expecting the courtroom to blow up!!

ok so we finally get going but since we got Judge Hill at the helm, the going is slow...Corbett's lawyer was ready to go and so was Amersand's, a guy named Clark or something....but we were interrupted by a freakin' chain gang..fifteen guys come shuffling in, single file, shackled at the wrists...they sit in the jury seats..Judge Hill says we are going to hear a few cases from them and he interrupts the Corbett hearing...he goes back and forth like this for awhile

peace?? no way Scott!!
ok so there's a bunch of losers in blue and orange jumpsuits with tatoos everywhere..and I'm paying to incarcerate them....why aren' they outside working???

finally Corbett's case starts...actually it's a non-case... after about 45 minutes of nonsense from Wendy's lawyer, Judge Hill denied the motion filed by the News-Press to unseal Corbett's notes ... the Ampersand lawyer was going around in circles nearly swallowing his tongue a few times! Hill was bemused...

but geez, Wendy's guy was a moron! I have to credit Judge Hill for cutting right through the News-Press bullshit and making it impossible for their lawyer to argue a case..basically the News-Press was trying to say they have the right to read any courtroom observer's notes because they, the NP, are in the business of reporting the news...hahaha..I heard alot of laughter after that one! Wendy doesn't report the news, she make the news up!!

then Judge Hill said the News-Press was reckless for repeating lies fed to them by Darryl Genis and defaming Officer Corbett ...Genis claimed  that Corbett lied to the court when the judge saw absolutely no evidence that the officer coached, lied or did anything wrong....it was pure bias and speculation by Genis and the News-Press.....wow..that's a breakthrough and something I expect from a Superior Court judge....acuity..... Americans have the right to privacy and no amount of Wendy's ill-gotten riches can change that!! *NEUTRALIZE THE NEWS-PRESS*

I was surprised that Peter Lance and Darryl Genis didn't bother to show up for the hearing..but not really...if I were them, I'd be embarrassed too!

some upcoming court appearances against Wendy and Ampersand...Roberts, Cappello and the American Arbitration Association....

oh Wendy and Scott, you make me sooo ashamed of you!!!

When does Jerry Roberts get to slap a lien on Wendy's holdings? Didn't she have until the end of August to pay up? She owes him about $1.1M.
