strawberry fields....

forever...

Das Williams ruffles farm feathers over pesticide regulations; Ventura County Ag Association cries to the News-Press; News-Press sings anti-union blues....

ok... a very weird story with the News-Press fingerprints all over it has been floating about Das Williams vs the rightwing Ventura County Ag Association not to be confused with theVentura County Ag Commission..

and guess what...the Ventura County Ag Association is a fucking NON-PROFIT!!!

but I can't make heads or tails of the reports from any of the sources because the reporting has been so jumbled...

bottom line from the SF source is some workers complained about "working conditions and violence" at Montalvo Farms and Das went to check it out at the request of constituents..the Ventura County Ag Ass threatened but haven't actually filed a complaint against Das for "trespassing" on the farm property...the News-Press mistakenly on purpose said the Ventura AG lawyer already filed a complaint...to make it look like Das was in trouble..I don't know to this minute if a complaint has been filed, but it's not important..

I'm thinking that Das just went to check things out for himself and the Ventura County AG Ass lawyer, a guy named Rob Roy who's an anti-union hothead, threw a temper tantrum because Das is pro-labor... and always has been an advocate for workers....

a little about the VCAA:

The composition of VCAA’s regular membership is diversified and includes a variety of agricultural and horticultural commodities, including strawberries, nursery stock, lemons, celery, tomatoes, raspberries, avocados, cut flowers, peppers, valencia oranges, as well as citrus, strawberry, vegetable and avocado packing/processing operations. Membership is limited to qualified organizations conducting business in either Ventura or Santa Barbara Counties.

A major asset to membership in VCAA is your access to the Association’s President and General Counsel, Rob Roy, with respect to labor and employment law issues. Mr. Roy is respected as one of the foremost agricultural labor and employment law attorneys in the State. His specialized legal services include representation of clients before the Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Department of Industrial Relations, Department of Fair Employment & Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Employment Development Department (EDD), the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as all of the State and Federal courts in California.

Mr. Roy provides legal counsel with regard to wrongful termination, sexual harassment and discrimination cases. He also represents members in union elections, contract negotiations, grievances and arbitration proceedings.

ie, he protects business organizations from worker complaints....Rob Roy is to the VCAA what Barry Capello was to Wendy during her labor issues...a corporate stooge!!

payback?

and Roy is pals with Fiona Ma who is embroiled in a brouhaha with Das Williams over farm pesticides...Fiona is very concerned with Das' rising power among the Democrats and his union clout and voted against his pesticide bill

working conditions bad on Oxnard farms?? pesticides?? gee, what do you think Cesar Chavez organized farmworkers for ....

but the Montalvo Farms "story" was concocted for political gain by the guys fearing Das' increasing political power...and the News-Press is heavily involved: running stories, corrections of those stories and editorials lecturing about union protocol...ie, tripping all over themselves to diss Das!!

please Wendy, your anti-union babble is pathological and you've broken so many labor laws and lied on the witness stand that you indeed should be in jail..but your ill-gotten inheritance keeps you free..for now..

the Ventura County Ag Ass lawyer ran right to the News-Press with the story complaining that Das posed as a union guy...like who is not gonna recognize Das Williams as an assemblyman....what, was he wearing a mask or hat that said "we shall overcome"??

the real issue is political games and payback....what are Fiona, Montalvo Farms, the News-Press and the Ventura County Ag Ass hiding?? and why didn't Montalvo Farms use their own lawyers instead of some cheezy nonprofit??

it's pretty clear this is all just a political hit job....plain to see..easy peasy Japanesey

Pretty soon the "correction" column is going to be longer than the regular paper.
