ahhhooohhh!!

I can't remember such a sorry gray overcast wet weather day for the 4th of July celebrations and then I hear that Nipper emceed the fireworks or emceed something in Santa Barbara....the News-Press was the only media outlet that mentioned Nipper so I don't know how he wriggled his way to the mic unless Wendy paid someone....the City of Santa Barbara and nonprofit Sparkle hosted the fireworks event that was supposedly funded by the Waterfront Dept...so how does Nipper fit in here??

I don't know..the News-Press didn't show a picture of him MCing anything... but I hold him responsible for the bad weather...

so I had another out of body experience while watching the County Supervisors' meeting....I caught the part where rookie north county supe Steve Lavagnino was pushing a ballot measure for a TOT for the county....Steve was babbling about taxes, stammering and stuttering about COLAB and how Lanny Ebenstein may not like his proposal..

then he says some taxes are necessary.....but his politcal cronies weren't too thrilled with the idea and poor Steve was so intimidated by them, he didn't even make a motion to move his own proposal through!

Joni Gray, Lanny Ebenstein and Joe Armendariz all railed against the tax..and even COLAB nemesis Janet Wolf chimed in against it on the grounds the proposal was hurried and not thought out well, a poke at Steve's wet- behind- the- ears status....apparently Joe is still executive director of the Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Ass after quitting the Zona Seca board of directors...Zona Seca is the non-profit drug and alcohol counseling center and with two DUIs/crashed cars under his belt, Joe finally came to the conclusion his presence as a director there was counter-productive..duh....

and Joni Gray has yet to explain how and why she profited from the now defunct and penniless non-profit Lompoc Housing Authority debacle....

then Lavagnino gets up and bolts from the supervisors building like a third grader in trouble ...I bet his daddy is gonna spank him!

next day Lanny writes an opinion in the News-Press and is so disgusted with conservative Steve Lavagnino, doesn't even mention his name in the editorial! better watch out Steve, you don't want #69, Lanny and Joe mad at you! so while Joe claims that during his tenure on the board he left Zona Seca with an embarrassment of riches, I would say the biggest embarrassment aside from these worthless nonprofits, is the leadership in the north county!
