scarlet begonias

The wind in the willows playing Tea for Two
The sky was yellow and the sun was blue

well, it is clear the Lance defense has lost hope on proving the forgeries ever happened on the Trombeta waivers.... and that's why they brought in the infrared extras to cast doubt on Kasi Beutel's ink type....

Lance's lawyer Daryl Genis has been explaining explaining explaining his case in the comments section of the Independent (the Joe Cole influence??) while Lance, having his own personal reporter in Scott Steepleton, continues his rants in the News-Press...if you can't win in court, try the newspapers and preach to the booze lobby... the booze lobby is definitely in town...

now back to the handwriting thing..I found some testimony by Blanco indicating the difficulty in assessing the authenticity of a signature: "Moreover, Harris's own handwriting expert testified as to the difficulties in assessing authenticity. Blanco testified that a signature can change over 10 years. Medical problems contribute to handwriting deterioration. Photocopies obscure detail and make authentication more problematic. Blanco testified that in assessing the authenticity of Dr. Love's signature on a document, he could not make an accurate determination absent a microscope."
so we got infrared lights, microscopes, magnifying glasses, the naked eye....and anything else in the bag of tricks to assess the inassessability of a signature!! I'd rather Madame Rosinka read my palm than Blanco figure out if I signed something!! this is the most absurd waste of time I've ever seen!!!

Authentication Of People...

what next, bar codes on everyone...cameras everywhere....watching the citizens watching the cops watch the citizens...all so some punks can drink and drive...well, do we want to fight crime or not?? shall we disband the police dept and use "precogs"....

In the world of The Minority Report, Commissioner John Anderton is the one to thank for the lack of crime. He is the originator of the Precrime System, which uses "precogs"--people with the power to see into the future--to identify criminals before they can do any harm. Unfortunately for Anderton, his precogs perceive him as the next criminal. But Anderton knows he has never contemplated such a thing, and this knowledge proves the precogs are fallible. Now, whichever way he turns, Anderton is doomed--unless he can find the precogs's "minority report"--the dissenting voice that represents his one hope of getting at the truth in time to save himself from his own system.

let's just start with a quicker path to justice...instead of all these continuations of hearings, cut the fat and go for the lean parts... so to all the judges and lawyers drowning us in useless details:

It is of the highest importance, therefore, not to have useless facts elbowing out the useful ones.
-- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "A Study in Scarlet"
