while I had to endure two days of dog stories on the front page on the News-Press, I saw something interesting, of a political nature...no the dogs weren't interesting unless you like fleas and dog doo as I'm certain some of you doodoo...
I love coyotes because they do the work that domestic dogs refuse to do...and I heard that some folks in Montecito are poisoning coyotes on the trails with the full blessing of the Montecito Journal...I may take this to #69 to see if she really loves animals or just the spotlight.....poisoning coyotes due to fear and ignornance will not be tolerated..and the penalty will be grave...
now, the dogs at the recent Kennel Club show were indeed absurd to look at..the poodle..the guy walking the poodle...what happened to men? when did they turn into wussies??
anyway, the dog show reminded me of two pooches on the Santa Barbara City Council...Dale Francisco, a dandy..and Randy Rowse....two very socially conservative guys who kinda remind me of poodles! they are pampered and act like they are something special..like they are better than eveyone, esp if you are working class or homeless....
conservatives have been splintered into various factions..the social conservatives are the guys who want to peer into your bedroom and make laws against behavior that they outwardly oppose; then there's the religious conservatives who use God as a crutch and excuse for everything they don't understand; then there's the financial conservatives who really do encourage us that money be spent wisely; but there's the anti-social conservatives who think drinking and driving is a good thing!
what about the anti-everything conseravtives who can't make up their minds what to complain about next...then the anti-gov't conservatives who want to rob public workers because a powerful work force scares them..these are the trustfunders who never worked for their money....instead it was given to them by various nefarious means....
whew! but if we can find a new breed of conservative that values public and private sector workers instead of pitting one against the other; a new breed that is not afraid of unions but supports the rights of union workers....a new breed that doesn't discriminate against a person due to mental or monetary issues...a new breed who sees real problems and finds solutions...a new breed that values the natural environment without micromanaging it....
a new breed of conservative...a new breed of dog....that's what we need
