Good Vibrations

I'm pickin' up good vibrations....

Santa Barbara View vs EdHAT

well, I visit EdHat and Santa Barbara View from time to time and I know SBVIEW does not like EdHAT.....SBVIEW thinks EdHat is simply an aggregator of news from other sites and for some reason that bothers the SB View editor..Bird is his name, I think...he seems like a weasel or the son of a bastard weasel..or his mom was a bitch weasel..well you kow what I mean...he's a punk..

and SB View is in bed with the Sentinel, Jim Buckley's boozey freebie rag..at least one columnist has been busted for DUI and the fratboy editor Matt Mattzaball was pulled over by the cops for something..or so I hear...

now we know that EdHAT got hacked recently...I hate it when that happens..and we know that EdHAT is a very popular site, more popular than SB View...cyberspace is full of things that can shut you down, mess with your ID and so on, but that should never stop you from moving forward....

EdHAT may have lost some mojo since founder Peter Sklar died, but it's still more popular than most online magazines..

Beware of Trojan Horses

ok, so when the EdHAT site went down , the SB View wasted no time expressing its condolences, they "reached out" to the editor ..but I say beware of Trojan Horses...SB View wants EdHAT gone, pure and simple...just check the history of jealous posts from the editor at Santa Barbara View! I mean it's not like EdHAT screwed its employees or planted child porn on the company computer and blamed someone else...where is this jealousy coming from???

SB View pretends to play nice

and the gals at SBV are well rather odd...chubby and homely Sharon and Cheri..and Loretta, well...watch your daughters with ol' Loretta!

Aggregators Become the Butt of JokesBy Editor on May 1, 2011 in News Seth Meyers zings aggregators at the White House Correspondent’s dinner… "The New York times [after] party used to be free, but tonight, apparently there’s a cover. So, like everyone else, I’ll probably just go to the Huffington Post party. And the Huffington Post party is asking people to go to other parties first and just - See more at: http://www.santabarbaraview.com/?s=aggregator&submit.x=9&submit.y=8#sthash.zmeP6SXE.dpuf

Aggregators at Work…By Editor on January 23, 2012 in News Santa Barbara’s Chromatic Gate has been a hot topic on Santa Barbara View. A picture of Herbert Bayer’s deteriorating Chromatic Gate, was followed by a historical perspective, thoughtful analysis and commentary, and feedback from elected officials. On Edhat, the region’s aggregator of other people’s content, a Sunday post went up titled, "Sadder Chromatic Gate", accompanied - See more at: http://www.santabarbaraview.com/?s=aggregator&submit.x=9&submit.y=8#sthash.zmeP6SXE.dpuf

The Decline and Fall of Edhat? By Editor on October 14, 2012 in News 2012 was expected to be a year of change in the local media landscape, and with another major announcement on the way, it appears to be living up to those expectations. It’s been six months since Jeramy Gordon began asking readers of the Santa Barbara Daily Sound for donations…"by pledging as little as $10 a - See more at: http://www.santabarbaraview.com/?s=aggregator&submit.x=9&submit.y=8#sthash.zmeP6SXE.dpuf

CRAIGSLIST

well I heard about a thing called "Santa Barbara rants and raves" on Craigslist ...it seems that SB View posted there and may be trying to stir up some muck against Edhat

http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/rnr/

Edhat problems
The problem indeed might be major. When I tried to access Edhat just now, I got the screen saying that the site was temporarily shut down. My Kaspersky system immediately kicked into overdrive and in the space of maybe 15 seconds, I got three separate warnings from Kaspersky that viruses/malware had been detected. This leads me to beieve that even the Edhat "system down" message isn't safe.

Hey Puck Face downing EDHAT.. (Carpinteria)
I don't know which loser right wing rag your from or if you fell off a horse and hit your little head but go to hell it did not infect my computer, but you'll be more than happy to take this oppturnity to down EDHAT because your an asshole. Since the news press took a shit on their reporters a few years back a bunch of websites and a few rags have tried to replace what was lost. What we got now are acouple sites that are liberal and caring and a few others that are right wing jack ass butt lickers. Attacking, maybe it won't make it maybe it will but you will still be licking ass oh make sure you get that spot right there..

Edhat
This is what happens when you have really, really bad code. Their site is coded in 90's web tech and has such poor security that Malware purveyors were easily able to insert their code. And with that hundreds of people were likely infected.

This by the way is a liability. If I were infected i'd bring a suit against EdHat for allowing the vulnerability to cause irrefutable harm. Malware can live in / on your machine for years. Slowly stealing your keystrokes and infecting everything you own. There are so many varieties, many are called Zero Day exploits. They hide from all virus detectors because they are not viruses with specific file signatures or actions... instead they are bits of harmless code sitting idle waiting for their commanders to call them into action. The site will probably never return. Its antiquated and frankly, is full of old fogies and Polly Annas anyhow. Its an easy opportunity for someone to put up a WordPress site and take their visitors, ad $ and google rankings.
Who is it going to be?

Re: Edhat
That explains it. All day yesterday whenever I'd log onto Edhat, my Kaspersky anti-virus program went batshit. Today I can't access Edhat at all on my computer, but I can access it on my iPhone, which has no anti-virus protection. It does seem to be taking them a long time to fix it. Edhat was not only hacked, they were serving up malware until Google crawled their site and blocked access to many users. here is the latest:

http://www.santabarbaraview.com/edhat-under-attack54252/

So it seems Edhat has finally shut down. Whatever you do, don't go there as their site will plant malware on your computer.

and that's what was on Craigslist!!

of course, EdHAT is back up and operating despite the hysterical folks trying to bring it down....I wonder if Santa Barbara View is behind all this..hmmmmm

I'm wondering that, too. Craigslist had a 9:20 a.m. rant about Edhat being down and delivering malware. But it's not. Better be careful, Mick. The SB View has long had it in for Edhat. I sometimes read the View and I know that Editor Bird has a shit list, no joke intended.

if the SB View birdies try to shut me down, I will visit the wrath of GOD upon them, tenfold!!

Where's the troll .. er toilet paper said...

The View sometimes posts rants on Craiglist with links leading back to its own Web site. They're trolls trolling for trolls.

If you can't beat'em, bash'em. That seems to be Bird's strategy.

The View likes to boast that it offers a "respectful airing of different points of view." In reality, however, the editor's favorites can get as nasty and offensive as they like. For everyone else, well, be careful what you say, or you'll wind up permanently restricted to the "comment moderation" queue. And some comments never get posted. At least at Edhat you eventually get to see the comments that were removed.

Oh that Bird republication. 'SB View editor..Bird.' Is Bird a real name? Who is this editor of this creepy organization? Find out for us Mick. One of your famous photos perhaps. Gives birds a bad name.

I read the View said...

Hey, don't bash Tom Bird. He makes great use of photographs on his blog. Like when he wants to talk about how new development is destroying the city's views. He'll get right under the project -- I think he sometimes actually lies on the ground -- to take the photo showing the buildings up against the mountains. The angle is so skewed you can tell something is off. Or he'll run a photograph purporting to show a bicyclist endangering motorists when a closer look indicates that it's the only spot on the road where the cyclist can actually ride. The funny thing is that his readers call him on it. Oh, and his hatred of Marty Blum…. don't get me started. I like Sharon Byrne's column and Bill Heller's photos. Everything else is for laughs.

What the heck is SantaBarbaraNewsPressBlog.com? Glad I found you and I'm glad someone finally outed the Santa Barbara View. It's almost as bad as the old Santa Barbara's Blog. Has this Bird guy ever taken a course in ethics? Does he know the definition of the word?
