Dead Man's Curve

"Well, the last thing I remember, Doc,
I started to swerve
And then I saw the Jag slide into the curve
I know I'll never forget that horrible sight,
I guess I found out for myself that everyone was right"

from all accounts, Kimberly A Kreis worked for the News-Press as a receptionist...from all accounts, Kimberly was involved in a terrible accident on Highway 101 and Castillo early Monday morning ...by all accounts 3 people died and Kimberly was arrested for DUI....

according to her facebook page, Kimberly likes the Pickle Room in Santa Barbara...and pizza!

according to the Independent, Don Katich from the News-Press has distanced himself from Kimberly....you could say Kimberly is an ex-aide to the News-Press..

did the News-Press encourage drinking, promote a culture of boozing as we see Nipper looking rather sloshed...

is News-Press co-publisher promoting booze culture??

by all accounts from her facebook page, she likes to drink...the News-Press should have known this and tried to help her...but according to Katich, they hired her and then, they fired her....

of course, all this needs to flush out but there's similarities between Raymond Morua and Kimberly Kreis...she is innocent until proven guilty....but will Kim seek Darryl's counsel..or is it too late? Darryl may be surfing at the ranch for a long, long time

now, I will be waiting for a five-part investigative series from Peter Lance on the connection between Kim Kreis and the News-Press..the families of the folks who died in this latest DUI related accident deserve no less...unless the driver was drunk, too!

Don Katich...let's see that story....or do you have blood on your hands???

this is not the New Press fault - I worked with Kimberly Kreis years ago and she was an alcoholic then - Employers should not be held responsible for an employee who drank Easter Sunday and foolishly drove under the influence and killed people - when will people understsnd that we are all individually responsible for our actions

Need more details, but it will be difficult to prove "cause of death." 1) did the 3 die because their car turned over? 2) did they sustain injuries as a result of the car turning over that they would not/could not have survived? 3) could KK have avoided collision? 4) could anyone have avoided collision? 5) was her BAC above legal limits?

And no, I see no connection (so far) between SB News Press and KK. An employer is not responsible for an employees actions outside the scope of their employment.

There is absolutely no similarity between this collision and the collision involving Lois Capps' employee Raymond Morua. Raymond was driving back from an event he was attending as part of his job. Raymond was reimbursed for his vehicle mileage when traveling to and from events he attended as part of his employment. That makes Lois Capps' office liable for the collision.

Beer at the Newspress. Hell yeah. I had to make a delivery there and saw a buncha of beer cans in a trash can. Some guy laughed and said -- "delivery guys" I thought that was pretty bogus -- putting drunk newpaper delivery guys on the road when the kiddies are goin to school.

To the "anon" who says Morua was driving from an event he attended as part of his job....WHOA there! That he was attending as part of his job has been reasonably contested. That is not yet a proven fact.
