Baby, I Love Your Way

everyday....

well that was an interesting Sunday night...Peter Frampton at the Lobero for the Notes For Notes concert...

I headed for the Lobero and got there about 7 pm....a few big buses outside the theater..big tour buses..people are hanging out drinking cocktails in the courtyard area..oh I wish they wouldn't serve liquor here but they do..

Youth Band members: Jackson Eddy on bass, Jamey Geston and Brandi Rose Lentini on vocals, Chimaway Lopez on guitar, Casmali Lopez on drums, and a very young dreadlocked Seku Fujino Harmachis on guitar.
Jamey Geston is the blonde with gold guitar..GREAT!!!

I went in and got my usual seat..some chicks came in and sat down next to me and said they are here to dance and they want me to dance with them...I said sure but I got a club foot so I might fall down..so they just kinda looked at me...but all through the night, they danced...Cindy and her galpal

then another chick comes up to me stinking of booze and tells me her sister wants to sit next to her and would I trade places..the sister is sitting on the other side of the Lobero..I told her to buzz off! geez..drunk chicks are so annoying!!

ok so the show starts...the MC is a radio guy and he introduces the Note for Notes guys, who come out and tell us about the program....it's a big deal and does a lot of good for kids who want to play music instead of getting prepped for another ill-fated American invasion overseas

they show some clips on the big screen...then the kids came out, the youth band and they played for about 45 minutes..they were good even with the occasional blue notes...takes alot of guts to open for Peter Frampton in a full house at the Lobero...the best song was called "Malibu" by a blonde gal, (I later learned from Glidemagazine she is Jamey Geston) with tons of attitude..she played a gold glitter guitar and she was adorable..the song was off the charts..and these kids are 14 and 15 years old!! look out Katy Perry!!

so after their set, the MC came out and gabbed while we all took a break for Frampton to set up...

then the lights go down and ...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Peter Frampton!!

this isn't the 1970s when Peter was a big rocknroll star filling stadiums with adoring fans...or is it? the moment Frampton stepped on stage, everyone, kids and parents, were up screaming and my concert gals were dancing up a storm...Peter launched into a barrage of rocknroll songs that shook the Lobero..Peter Frampton rocked the Lobero!!

the dude is a master guitarist and the familiar Les Paul he played was donated by Gibson...at the end of the night, after a jam with one of the talented guitar slinger kids, he signed it and the MC auctioned it off ..right there on stage for the Notes program..it fetched $9000!

Peter was is good spirits and played the hits..played with the crowd even stopped to scold some dude for texting in the front row..he says he hates cell phones and cameras and has been known to confiscate them..I think it was all part of the act, but he got the phone and placed in onstage...no cell phone for you!!! haaha..but cameras were popping all night..

"Lines on My Face"...that's the song that made me a fan..and he played it with his band.." I saw where you came from, I called out your name but there's no answer, we lived on your doorstep, I made you my wife, but I don't need that
"...that song sends a chill down my spine..it's awesome

and of course "Baby, I Love Your Way"...huge song and just beautiful...

it was a fun night of loud rocknroll brought to us by an old pro...I've never seen the Lobero "Come Alive" like that and the power of music was on full display...

I bet that concert was caught on alot of iphones...
