the Carpinteria Shark Chronicles
well yesterday I told you about the shark conference.. today I will expound on it..I will jump on it and tear it apart, like a shark..
years ago when the Carp Seal Watch first
started, they blamed coyotes for harassing the seals.....
that ticked me off!! actually it turned out to be domestic dogs but either way, that's what dogs do....real dogs hunt.....
and today, contrary to what Peter Howorth babbles about, there are no shark experts or specialists coming to Carpinteria...oh there will be some guys claiming to be experts on sharks, but no one knows a thing about sharks, really, other than they humans will try to make their lives more difficult....sharks are cool animals..they are scavengers and predators and serve to rid the ocean of sick and weak animals....and yet we have people still demonizing them, killing them for sex libido, and for freakin soup!!
however Howorth says they will explain the "remarkable" and "dramatic" number of sharks attacking sea lions and seal and assess the threat to humans..then he says in the next sentence these guys won't sensationalize any of the reports, like Howroth just did in his News-Press column....there's nothing remarkable or dramatic about the number of shark attacks!!!
look... sea lions and seals are red meat to a shark, if you can't deal with that like Wendy or PETA or the Humane Society, then go take along walk off a short pier....

Although shark attacks can seem vicious and brutal, it's important to remember that sharks aren't evil creatures constantly on the lookout for humans to attack. They are animals obeying their instincts, like all other animals. As predators at the top of the ocean food chain, sharks are designed to hunt and eat large amounts of meat. A shark's diet consists of other sea creatures -- mainly fish, sea turtles, whales and sea lions and seals. Humans are not on the menu. In fact, humans don't provide enough high-fat meat for sharks, which need a lot of energy to power their large, muscular bodies.
now this conference was sponsored by the City of Carp so I figure the culprit is Matt Roberts, the Parks Director guy who also sits on the water board...Matt is the same guy trying to nativize the Carp Bluffs supplying the native plants with their own irrigation systems...Matt is the guy who is tearing out the Tamarisk or Salt Cedar trees because they are non-native...the fact is the salt cedar thrive in sandy soils and benefit any native trees that have trouble surviving...
so both these guys, Howorth and Roberts, I got an issue with....I love sharks not enough to marry one but wild animals are at the top of my list of cool things....
