ok...newspapers print sensational stories for several reasons...mainly to get more readers
we have a right to know what's going on out there...a good reporter is invaluable for getting the story out with as much factual info as possible...a bad reporter just prints the story with a bunch of hearsay....over at Noozhawk, (News-Press Jr) I was disappointed to see cub reporter Lara Copper attend the stupid "whiskey and wine" tasting event at the Museum of Natural History...it was lecture about the Prohibition period in the United States...the subject was booze..lately in Santa Barbara, the subject always seems to be about booze..

so Noozhawk printed a story about the police beating a motorist and quoted some civilian witnesses who had ZERO facts about the case....it was all hearsay and slanted against the cops....and just in time for another smear job around election time...and the story, put out without checking facts, was written by conservative Noozhawk publisher William Macfadyen...this guy has appeared on the Mr.Wimpy Show so now he's on my radar .....I got no issue with printing any stories, but this was obviously poorly reseached and published in haste..and we know haste makes waste....
ok, so cooler heads waited until the facts were known before jumping on the lynch mob wagon and hanging a Santa Barbara cop for doing his job....that's right, a Santa Barbara cop did his job, used necessary force to subdue a drunk driver..so what's the problem???
if the story was done right, Noozhawk would have done a background check on the witnesses they spoke with..a few questions like we're you drinking that night..or have you ever been busted for operating a pot dispensary...one witness, Jeff Restiva, has a reason to hate the cops because of his pot dispensary troubles.....and the goofy yuppiepuppiewuppiemuffies, Ellen and John Hunterr per news reports, interfered with a police stop, assumed the cop was doing soemthing wrong, have they ever worked in law enforcement, ever dealt with drunk drivers, ever been in a non-civilian job??? I want drunk drivers off the road, so butt out next time goddam yuppiemuppiewuppies!!
...basically, these two, who didn't even use their cell phone to take even one picture, decided that the cop was not doing the job the way the Hunters thought it should be done!!!
so the guy busted, Tony Denunzio according to the police report, was making erratic lane changes in traffic, was driving on a suspended license due to a prior DUI!!!! and alcohol odor detected on him, jumped out of his car and resisted arrest!!! WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY??? oh yeah, it's easier to blame the cops....
what should we do, instead of arresting a drunk driver, feed him milk and cookies and read him a bedtime story like Ellen and John want to do??
so if DUI got his ass kicked he deserved it....drunk driving is a violent sociopathic crime...it needs to be dealt with forcefully...if that bothers some of you folks with weak minds and stomachs, you really need to educate yourselves about what drunk drivers do...and it's not pretty....
I think these yuppieduppiewuppiemuppies who interfered with a cop doing his job should be arrested and/or fined...and Macfadyen, I don't suppose he put out the story for political advantage to whip up the anti-cop-union frenzy or to get a bump in readership, did he?? well, at least he printed the police response on this scumbag Denunzio....
thank you Officer for getting this serial drunk off the road...for a few days anyway....next time break his ankles!!

Chris Rock has a simple training video that should be required of all drivers in California.

pure genius!!
Does this mean that if I see some kids beating on and kicking an elderly woman to the ground that I should just ignore it and walk on? I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions based on what appeared to be happening.
The police definitely need cameras to protect themselves from all the drunks in town. I hope they put them in all the SBPD cars.

if you see some kids kicking and beating an elderly woman, of course you shouldn't walk away..you should help the little rascals kick the old bag and put her out of her misery...use some common sense for Pete's sake!
