you know the cool thing about the Lance DUI case is the spotlight on drunk driving..I bet a lot of people are thinking twice about getting behind the wheel, even after "only" three beers....and that's cool!

however, instead of publishing lies on the front page of the News-Press like Scott Steepleton normally does, he has wised up and is publishing them on page 6 so nobody will see them....and that ain't too cool

now, I was at the hearing a few weeks ago when Kasi Beutel was ready to testify on the witness stand..I heard the judge and prosecution say that she was ready..and I also heard Lance's lawyer Darryl Genis say he was in no rush to hear her..instead he wanted handwriting looker-at-er James Blanco to testify because Blanco doesn't live here..he flies in and so they put him and the prosecution's handwriting expert on the stand..all day..asking stupid repetitive questions...

but now the News-Press has a story that Kasi won't testify soon due to another unspecified leave of absence....and Genis says to Scott Steepleton: "now the reality is revealed: the District Attorney's office knew they had no intention whatsoever of putting Kasi Beutel on the stand, but they wanted to create an illusion that they would for the benefit of the media. We'll be deceived no longer"...

this is precisely why a gag order should have been placed on the News-Press due to their "News of the World" type of gossip...

Scott Steepleton should be removed from the hearing if he can't report the truth....and Genis should be sanctioned for lying like this..... the truth is..Beutel was there, Judge Hill encouraged and almost insisted that Darryl Genis put her on the witness stand..it was Genis who declined to question her after months of daring her of testify... I mentioned this in the Oct 6th post "12 Angry Men".....so the real reason that Kasi Beutel didn't testify on that day is Darryl Genis didn't take the Judge's advice and put her on the stand first..Genis could have questioned Beutel, but he didn't and that's a fact...

I think the reason Genis chickened out is because Beutel would have made him and Lance look bad...they know Lance is going to trial, so now they are playing a little blame game..it's absurd!!

and looky here..Wendy's pal Michael Douglas is getting the "Father of the Year" award! oh wait, that's not right...Alcoholic of the Year?? no that's wrong, too...but poor Mike was battling throat cancer brought on by years of tobacco and alcohol abuse..and his son Cameron was a meth addict/dealer....

Cameron Douglas was arrested July 28 2009 by DEA at a hip Manhattan hotel. The 30-year-old son of Michael and his ex-wife Diandra, has a lengthy history of drug abuse, rehab, arrests and imprisonment.
The bust took place at the Gansevoort Hotel, a source told The New York Post. An undercover DEA operation allegedly found he was carrying about eight ounces of crystal meth, and had dealt $18,000 worth of the drug at the time they took him into custody.

...oh, so Mike is being honored at Ty Warner's Coral Casino for his film work??? I see...yup, made some good films..not great, but good...

the dinner and cocktail reception costs $500 and as the NP says, "it will be a unique moment in history"... but they didn't say why.....and I certainly can't....
