Don’t miss the last two weeks of Tipsy Tuesdays at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara (1260 Channel Dr.), this Tuesday, October 25, as well as Tuesday, November 1, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The luxury hotel offers wines from a different S.B.-area winery each week for guests to enjoy while they take in spectacular oceanfront views. Tipsy Tuesdays at the Biltmore??? Ty, this is the dumbest event I think I've ever seen..the silliest promo...encouraging folks to get drunk and drive home..I want some candidates who can stand up to the booze problems in Santa Barbara!! and the Independent should show some spine and refuse to print the event.....but since Randy Campbell left, the Indie lost her focus....

if you run for public office, you need to be able to withstand the heat...so if you've got skeletons in your closet, release them or they will be exposed by others..how appropo for Halloween...if I ran I would let people know beforehand about my shady past...then they can judge for themselves..for example, I used to be a serial killer, but I've managed to control that impulse so far...so you could read that different ways and make an informed decision when you vote...

of course, the SB City Council candidates are a diverse group, so they will have diverse backgrounds and issues..we got Deb Schwartz (former supe Naomi's daughter) with her money issues; Cruzito Cruz with his criminal record and COD (Court Outburst Disorder), Dale Francisco and his vote to legislate bigotry against gays, we got Mike Self and her ties to racist Native Daughters of the West..shall I continue? ok....

we got Randy Rowse selling alcohol and asking the taxpayers to spend $50000 to rearrange some benches on State Street to discourage poor folks from sitting on them....selling alcohol is a huge drain on the cops due to the lower State Bar Row....restautants and bars that sell alcohol should be taxed for the extra cops it takes to police them and the drunks..one good thing about Randy is he won't allow dogs in his restaurant for all the obvious reasons....so you can dump Dale and Mike and keep Randy, because he made some rookie mistakes, I'll let him slide...

Cathy Murrillo is married to David Pritchett...what does that say about her common sense or judgement??

Iya Falcone....Iya is kinda spaced out so you can't tell what she's gonna do from minute to minute!

Sharon Byrne...wants to eliminate the "grunge factor" downtown...this gal is scared of everyone who's not white and presentable...how much money will she waste trying to build a bubble around Santa Barbara??

and a vote for Mike and Dale is a vote for Wendy McCuckoo since she owns them..
the rest of the candidates I can't name so unless they step it up and do something newsworthy, they will remain under the radar...lucky for them!
