My Generation

talkin' 'bout my g-g-g-generation, baby

ok Andy Caldwell of the News-Press likes to blame the 1960s for all the problems of the world..and the crumbling of the USA..the moral decay....Andy complains about the sixties kids who rebelled against authority..well yeah..why should I let some idiot send me to a war in Asia for no reason?? and the sixties according to Andy gave us an increase in child molesters and gangs and uppity black folk and working women.... the main cause of the disintegration of the white American family

one of Andy's heroes is J. Edgar Hoover..and we know about J. Edgar don't we..he liked to dress up in lady's underwear, the bra and panties and high-heels, and parade around the FBI offices with his boyfriend....that's American family values these faux-Christians are crowing about?? J. Edgar Hoover was a drag queen!!!

alot of conservative faux-Christians do this today-complain about the sixties- and I know why..to hide the abuses of the Catholic Churches..I had to search the Lompoc Record to find out what I already knew: Andy is a devout Christian...on the one hand he's crying about immorality, the next minute he's cheering on the Chumash casino!!

from the Bible: Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

from the Lompoc Record/ 2006: Outside the pubic eye, Caldwell is a devoted family man with seven children between 6 and 16 years old. His wife of nearly 20 years, Linda, home-schools their brood, which Caldwell calls one of the best educations a child can receive.

Andy, if you want your kids to grow up as ignorant as you, keep home-schooling them...home schooling is all about control and fear, not education...you should never let your parents teach you anything! I have never met an intelligent parent...never!!

A devout Christian, Caldwell said he would like to be a preacher one day after he retires from COLAB, and emphasized the importance of always being honest with the public.

While many of COLAB/s members are the most wealthy farming families in the county, those are the same people that started out with nothing and earned every penny in their accounts, Caldwell said. For that reason, many of them continue to support and value the work of every farmworker, he added.

oh Brooks Firestone started with nothing?? he inherited his fortune and will pass it on to his idiot brat son Andrew

and Joe Armendariz gushes about Andy's "integrity"...Armendariz said Caldwell has strong integrity and is always honest with those he represents....

Power to the People, Right On!
so most of what these squares say about the 60s is malarkey....the sixties had some hot spots in the cities but mostly it was just the 'burbs..Pleasant Valley Sundays with a backdrop of war, assassinations and other cool stuff...

and a chance to right some wrongs....what Andy and his naive ilk can't understand is their America never existed, except on TV...Father Knows Best? why did father call daughter "kitten"?? INCEST!!!

but any search into America's history before 1960 will find some pretty disgusting events... we had the KKK racism, segregation and lynchings in the south, the Mafia crime families, the killings in broad daylight of crime bosses..mental institutions run like prison camps....the Roaring Twenties was all about decadence..the Original Decade of Decadence..when our parents were coming of age...when Prohibition was tried and didn't work...alcohol is the number one abused drug in the world and it shows no signs of slowing...

Economic Boom or crazy capitalism
Many Americans experienced economic growth during the 1920s. After World War I, the United States was the wealthiest nation on the planet. No other country could rival its prosperity. Many Americans worked at reasonably high-paying jobs that garnered them a disposable income. Some used the economic boom to set up hire-purchase, which allowed consumers to pay for purchases in installments -- and leading to an increase in consumer debt. The good times were short-lived, and when the stock market crashed in 1929, Americans found themselves headed toward a Great  Depression

Prohibition
In the 1920s, the U.S. government experimented with Prohibition and made the sale and consumption of alcohol illegal. But those who wanted to drink or sell alcoholic beverages found alternatives to the formerly legal channels. Speakeasies, or clubs, provided people a chance to partaken in the forbidden activity. This business lead to organized crime, and gangsters raked in the profits. It was not just the criminals who took part. Prominent citizens and politicians later admitted to also drinking during Prohibition. President Warren G. Harding apparently kept the White House stocked with whiskey even though he had voted for Prohibition while he was a senator.

the 1960s were awesome and especially fun in Santa Barbara..I'm thinking that Andy Caldwell must've had a bad childhood which is why he is so whiny today in the News-Press..always crying about things he can't control...perhaps Andy can put down Ayn Rand for a minute and pick up The Great Gatsby, a book about the decadence of the Roaring Twenties...or check out The Guilty Generation with Boris Karloff which also starred Robert Young from Father Knows Best.... it was about bootleggers!!

the Hays censorship code was instituted to shield Amercans from the realities of the twenties.....

Hays' power came not from his own ability to control the motion picture industry, but by the support he had from the Catholic Church. Like Franklin D. Roosevelt realized in his campaign for president in 1932, the rise to power came with the support of the ethnic minorities of the inner city. Hays saw that he could only maintain his role in charge of policing the film industry by forging an alliance with the increasingly powerful Catholic 'Legion of Decency'. The Legion, created in reaction to Pope Pius XI's demand for "Catholic Action", sought to work within the motion picture industry to regulate immorality on film

ahh yes... there's the Catholic Church again.. all those priests trying to impose their morality on others...don't disobey your "father" they say while molesting little boys

censorship is ignorance..and the 1960s finally busted through all the bullshit

and any decade that can fight censorship, pathetic racism, and produce FM radio and music like the Beatles, the Stones, the Who, the Kinks, the Supremes, Bob Dylan, the Byrds and the Buffalo Springfield, champion civil rights, stop wars and give us guys like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Steve McQueen and films like Bullitt.... is my kinda decade
