Harmony

and me
We're pretty good company
Looking for an island
In our boat upon the sea

WTF??? Santa Barbara city councilman Dale Francisco just saved five eucalyptus trees by the library?? by designating them historic resources!!

I'm floored..I'm flushed...I'm thrilled... thanks Dale!

now I know Dale goes off on tangents sometimes but every now and then does something really brilliant..first thing was letting the hair grow out....then some other things I don't remember but at least he's showing some independence...proof that conservatives are good for something...

and whoever these people are who want to mess up the library with pingpong tables, faux facades or flowery frilly decorations need to knock it off....take a look at this beautiful building for what it is and leave it alone..and leave the eucs alone, too!

why is it everyone editoral writer in the News-Press is a liar? first it was Travis, then Tyler, then Lanny and now Christian nutjob Andy Caldwell...hey.. has anybody actually seen or heard from Terry Tyler since Wendy dumped him from the editorial pages...the question is where did she dump him!

hmmm, I was reading the Pacific Coast Business Times and the name Foundation for Harmony and Happiness rang a bell....I did a story awhile back (c'mon down to my boat baby) on some nonprofits that have boats docked at the Harbor...Channelkeeper has one, and the FOUNDATION FOR HARMONY AND HAPPINESS has a boat named "Casa Del Mar"...

turns out the guy who owns the Casa Del Mar is a Santa Barbara CPA running a scam and funneling money to his phony nonprofit! he was arrested back in 2011...he's got a boat, a mansion in Montecito and was living the life of a bon vivant!

Steve Pybrum was a well-known author who had written books on avoiding marriage problems caused by money. He founded a nonprofit called the Foundation for Harmony and Happiness to provide "counseling" to married couples.

from PCBT: But federal authorities alleged that the foundation was merely a name on the bank accounts where Pybrum, 61, deposited his accounting business income to avoid paying taxes on it. They alleged that the foundation conducted no valid charitable activities and that its income was instead was used to pay Pybrum’s personal expenses, "including renting space in a Montecito mansion and buying a plane, fishing boat and SUV," according to a statement from the IRS.

Pybrum was recently found guilty of tax evasion....

the Foundation for Harmony and Happiness..gimme a break!!

Cheers for a council that recognized esthetic and functional problems at our library. The Faulkner Gallery is a fantastic Myron Hunt building that once had tiered reflecting pools leading to the street - destroyed 20 years ago when the buildings were joined in the misguided addition and landscape redo. The council gasped seeing the former design that was destroyed. Library workers complain that public access doors are not visible to workers making security difficult.
The city needs to think more critically when hiring employees like $130,000 Ms. Zachary and consultants like Campbell and Campbell ($$?). At least there was unanimous displeasure with the library addition of 20 years ago.
