Tombstone Blues

the sun's not yellow, it's chicken
it seems alcohol has created a sub-culture of zombies!

I started this blog to shed some light on the lies coming out of the News-Press editorial pages when Wendy Nipper and Travis took over...I wanted to take a satirical look at these folks and give them some of their own medicine...I wanted to see if Wendy and Nipper would send their lawyers over to try to remove my blog like they tried with others who poked fun at them but of course that didn't happen and now one of their lawyers, Barry Capello is suing Wendy....isn't it ironic!!

now Travis was Wendy's gay Indian prince and he was busted for DUI in 2006..driving up a one way street, the wrong way..0.23 was his BAC

I remember Travis had a radio show on Wendy1290AM and he and Joe Armendariz were talking about their DUIs saying it was actually a good thing!!!

and when I heard this: With McCaw and her boyfriend – the paper's restaurant critic – now copublishers, editor Jerry Roberts was ordered to kill a story about the editorial page editor's drunk-driving sentence...I knew that Wendy was not playing with a full deck..and she simply does not understand the working class..my friends, she's a mess!! as are Lance, Steepleton and Genis..

ok, people sue municipalites all the time and Santa Barbara is no exception...mostly folks are looking for a monetary settlement to sooth some grievance, real or imagined...and any investigation of a cop has to insure that cop's rights are not violated either...I kept hearing about the officers' Bill of Rights so I checked it out....

The Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights (LEOBR or LEOBoR) is intended to protect American law enforcement personnel from unreasonable investigation and persecution caused by extraordinary circumstances in the official performance of their duties

Law enforcement officers arguably have one of the toughest jobs in the nation. They alone are charged with keeping the streets and neighborhoods of this country safe from crime. Every day, police officers put their lives on the line—life and death decisions are in the job description. Because of the enormous responsibility that comes with a badge, law enforcement officers are held to a much higher standard of personal and professional conduct—as well they should be. This higher standard and increased visibility renders police officers vulnerable to false accusations from the criminal element and others in society whose sole motivation in making these allegations is to disrupt law enforcement activities.

"whose sole motivation in making these allegations is to disrupt law enforcement activities"..does that sound familiar? that is the old refrain from LAnce and the News-Press we are hearing over and over again!!!

Peter Lance had so prejudiced his case against Officer Beutel with his egomaniacal factually- challenged series, that any and all accusations against the officer are moot fiction....I think Kasi Beutel should thank Lance for that!!!

but as the News-Press continues to try to disrupt law enforcement, especially regarding drunk drivers, the motivation becomes clear...It's hard to imagine that anyone would be pro-drunk driver, but a number of critics say it's outrageous for "first-time" offenders to have their driving privileges curbed after making just one mistake. To them, it seems heavy-handed – another example of government trampling of individual rights....

If you're in a good mood," says von Wiesenberger, "champagne makes you happy. If you're in a bad mood, it still makes you smile." WTF???

the Indochine Incident
now to Scott Steepleton's biased story about the Indochine nightclub...

the stars of this little melodrama are two District Attorneys, Drew Josfan and Drusan Pavlovic, who, in 2008, came up from Los Angeles to attend a seminar in Santa Barbara..later that night they hit the legendary SB bar scene..not uncommon at all.. as we all know, that's where the cops spend a lot of their time and your tax money dealing with intoxicated people!!

well there was a long convoluted case where the cops were called by the Indochine staff because Josfan and Pavlovic were drunk and disorderly, harassing women and the bar staff...one of the guys allegedly exposed himself but Scott forgot to include all the details in his story....the cops were called and they responded and arrested the DAs who then filed lawsuits protesting the arrest and claiming police brutality like a couple of big babies....when Steepleton interviewed Pavlovic, I couldn't believe what a weenie the guy was saying he loved to party and drink liquor, but was so offended when the Indochine staff called the cops...but Pavlovic was sentenced to some community service....

as for Josfan, here's the whole story which was later settled AFTER FOUR YEARS for much less than Josfan was seeking.... and nobody's civil rights were abused and there was no police brutality...

The opinion of the court was delivered by: A. Howard Matz United States District Judge

ORDER REMOVING CASE FROM ACTIVE CASELOAD

The Court having been advised by the parties that the above-entitled action has been settled;

IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that this case is removed from this Court's active caseload without prejudice to the right, upon good cause shown within 30 days, to reopen this action if settlement is not consummated.

and Josfan was suspended for something.. I couldn't determine what....but he spends lots of time getting in trouble it seems!!

Petition of DREW JOSFAN for a hearing on his suspension not to exceed thirty (30) days following the judgment of a criminal matter, effective May 19, 2008, from the position of Deputy District Attorney III, Office of the District Attorney,
Case No. 08-253. RECEIVED AND FILED COMMUNICATION WITHDRAWING THE PETITION BASED ON A SETTLEMENT. HEARING CANCELLED.

and I'm in the kitchen with the Tombstone blues....maybe the only way to cut thru all this bullshit is to have no laws and let frontier justice rule...if you crash into me while drunk, I just whip out the Buntline and shoot you..maybe in the arms so you can't raise a glass...like in the days of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday!

Scott..you're no daisy.....but I'm your Huckleberry
