Mystery Girl

or "the woman" as the News-Press and Peter Lance refer to her..I'll call her... Madame X

ok so Sunday is the last day of the Avocado Fest and people still milling about in the morning.. I went to get a paper and guys were buying beer at 9:00 AM! geez

and it's also the last of five parts of Peter Lance's latest hitjob of Officer Kasi Beutel..the reason Lance is going crazy over this stuff is because he was emasculated by a female cop...

and make no mistake, this is a hack job if there ever was one...the News-Press and Lance should be ashamed of themselves for such ethical lapses....

but anyhoo, the Sunday piece started out with two key issues that shot all of Lance's theories full of holes..first he starts out as always with a sob story about a "victim" of Kasi: April 22, 2011 was Good Friday. Until that day, a 34-year-old Santa Barbara woman was a licensed insurance broker. She came from a solidly middle class law enforcement family. Not only did her mother work for the county helping to enforce the child support laws, but her brother had been a CHP officer killed in the line of duty" ...blah blah blah

ok so how could such an angel be charged with DUI?? well, because she drove drunk and got caught, that's how!! now as I go on reading the story, I can't find the gal's name because Lance keeps refering to her as "the woman"! the woman with no name?? I don't get it..if she had proof she was set up by a SB cop, why doesn't she give her name??

this is the woman, Madame X, who supposedly had some heroin on her or dropped it on the floor..it doesn't mean at all that she was using it that day because she was arrested for DUI...heroin is bought and sold in jail like candy.... Lance assumes that because "the woman's" blood was only tested for alcohol, the cops must have planted the heroin at "the woman's" feet.....that's just silly...and the woman was convicted of DUI even though she was such an angel!

ok...so the second issue is that DUI lawyers Daryl Genis and William Makler commissioned a lie detector test to prove "the woman" was innocent of heroin possession...that's right, two DUI lawyers got their client to undergo a lie detector test...

What Exactly is a Polygraph Test?
A polygraph, or "lie-detector," is a machine that measures various physical attributes (blood pressure, perspiration, heart rate, etc...) and attempts to correlate them with telling lies. In past times they were often used by police and government agents to interrogate suspected criminals, but as they have been proven to be extremely unreliable indicators of lying, their use has lessened in recent years (usually because of court rules prohibiting their use).

and these are the same two lawyers who cry about the inaccuracies of the breathalyzer tests??? puleeze!!

the man with the Tin Foil Hat
Lance has been criticized before about his wild goose chases disguised as books/stories and this is yet another example...

the folks arrested for DUI have no one to blame but themselves, and yet there is a cottage industry of guys like Genis and Makler trying to get the drunk drivers off the hook by blaming the cops who arrested them..the DUI Unit is set up to arrest drunk drivers..that's what they do!!

now if you get arrested for DUI and are not under any drug influence, fine, the cops screwed up...but if a cop has a reasonable suspicion you're DUI, he or she will stop you because THAT IS THEIR JOB!! so don't drink and drive and don't give me any bullshit excuses like Lance's excuses for "the woman"...

next time someone drives drunk and kills, you can thank enablers like Makler, Genis, Lance and the News-Press..the issue is and always has been: DRUNK DRIVING...and thanks to the cops who keeping rounding them up!

Can you imagine losing your baby boy to a drunk driver or your beautiful teenage daughter. Think about the pain your stupid choice caused and thank The Lord we have police officers willing to put their life on the line to keep this from happening. I salute you Kasi Beutel

Amen, well said. I am married to Kasi Beutel and know first hand how untrue and completely bogus these articles and accusations are. I have personally stood with a mother as she stared at her dead son at the hands of a drunk driver. I watched as three children learned that their father was killed by a drunk driver. I can assure you there is nothing worse than hearing the anguish and witnessing such suffering. Both Kasi and I are passionate about trying to stop drunk drivers before they destroy innocent lives.

Kasi is my wife, a mother to our five children, a Sunday school teacher and one of the hardest working people I
know. She is generous and loving and truly cares about the people in this community.

I'm disgusted by the lies and total lack of integrity displayed by everyone associated with Mr. Lance's articles. I hope that people will recognize them for what they are..... Self- serving garbage.

Lance seems obsessed with wreaking havoc on Kasi Beutel. Perhaps his rage over being "emasculated by a female officer" is out of control. Let's not forget that, not too long ago he was arrested for domestic violence for assaulting his girlfriend at a home they shared in Santa Barbara. Now THAT'S a "Mystery Woman" I know many people would be interested in hearing from. Someone should definitely interview her. We can call her Madam "L". Seriously, it's time for someone to investigate Lance and expose him.
