It was a beautiful Sunday...so I decide to go on a bicycle ride..the normal route..down Padaro up to Highway 192/Foothill..then back home..a little 7 miler...I usually see some Harleys on highway 192 and since the Harley shop is in Carp,
many more folks are using the foothills..but still not too bad..it is a gorgeous ride even with the extra company...so I'm riding past the organic farm when I hear some rumbling behind me..this was a low rumble, not the usual chopper racket I hear..I look behind me and two riders are on big Harley Trikes..the front rider is..guess who..Dr. Laura! I laughed at her as she passed..her hubby was close behind..the funny thing was the look on Dr. Laura's face...even with the big oversized helmet on and dark sunglasses, she looked absolutely terrified..and small..teeny..like Norman Bates' mother grasping the trike handlebars for dear life like a little statue... I wish I had my camera..the other funny thing is they were only going about 25 mph! I almost caught up to them on my mountain bike! HA... 
She had mentioned in her No-News-Press column a few times about almost getting into an accident on her Harley..well, Dr. Laura, you are gonna kill someone or get killed if you don't change your riding technique..loosen up and try going a little faster... after all you are on a rural highway..or better yet take up something more age-appropriate ..like a golf cart...FORRRE!

Hey Mick I saw Memaw and Pepaw on their trikes when they were on their way to the Chumash Powwow. It was mentioned before that Laura's trike looks like a granite countertop on wheels (with that garish paint job) while Lew's creamy white trike oozes geriatric class and sophistication. When will they take the training wheels off?
You saw them?? Then I wasn't hallucinating..I think she got a new one;it was odd looking.
her old one was on display at the Harley war rally a year or so ago and was pretty cool..I gotta get a picture of these two before they, god Forbid, crash!

No I swear I saw them at State & La Cumbre as I was on my way to Blenders for my daily Wheatgrass shot. Lew's trike was a sophisticated shade of pearl (with a helmet to match), and Laura's marbled black and white paint job lent a dignified air to the otherwise ridiculous tricycle or whatever the heck that thing is.
You guys sound like you're doing a restaurant review "Laura's marbled black and white paint job lent a dignified air" to the wonderful dining ambiance..you should write a Foodie column for the NewsPress!
Yeah, I was kind of hoping Nipper would offer me a job reviewing fabulous SB restaurants. I'd probably have to fork out the money, though (remember in the old days Nipper paid his own way). Maybe Dr. Laura and her poodle could tag along and hilarity would ensue when the dog would be 86d out of some swanky joint in Montecito.
